Hello all, i am currently trying to get skeinforge working on widows xp. i have python 2.7 downloaded, when i click on the skeinforge.py it opens python quickly then closes it. any idea on what i am doing wrong? thank you Morristby morrist - Skeinforge
do they already have this? i did a google search and there is a picture of one i think we may be able to use sorry about the horrendous linkby morrist - Developers
thank you, this should give me a better foundation i dont know how i missed the makerbot ones before. ive just been using the wikipedia oneby morrist - General
thats what i was pressing. i copied and example and have been using that. no idea why its different but its working now i guess. thank you thoughby morrist - General
Hello, i havent posted in a while, i am in summer classes currently. if anyone remember's i was last working through issues with techzone. i have finally printed with my reprap and have the monolithic board working well. i just need to get skeinforge working and i should be making better quality parts. Now i have begun trying to learn how to use openscad. my question is in regards to rendering aby morrist - General
thank you, that is actually very helpful. any idea on why it randomly might have zig zagged on a few of those prints? should i create the g code with skeinforge instead? morristby morrist - General
i seemed to have the temperature thing kinda under control. it seems to need to be paused in the beginning of the print, then gains temperature and has no more problems. however, i am using repsnapper and it does strange things sometimes. it will zigzag along the print surface instead of printing the part. this happened when i tried to print the 40mm test cube from thingiverse this happened to meby morrist - General
yes it does, after 25 seconds or so, the temperature is reading aroung 118 c morristby morrist - General
hello all, ive been posting on here for a good amount of time. i have finally gotten my reprap mendel to move around and recognize limit switches. now my weakest point seems to be my wade style extruder with techzone parts. it seems i cannot keep the temperature high enough during printing. i was wondering if anyone else has this same setup and how they improved it. i think i just need more of tby morrist - General
here is what the problem was, i never went and re set up the com port. so i was using the wrong com port, and it wouldnt connect. i tried every com port, and found one to work. very stupid error on my part. a little tid bit on the monolithic board, the debug light will flash during operation, this does not mean that it needs to be debugged. hope this is helpful, thanks for all the support from eby morrist - Controllers
i got it worked out, real stupidity on my part. thank you though Morristby morrist - Controllers
got it plugged it in, debug light came on. have no idea what that means or entails. and i cant find any documentation on it. so here we go again with the wild goose chaseby morrist - General Mendel Topics
Hi all, so after giving up on the gen 3 remix, i traded techzone the electronics for their monolithic board, hoping everything would be plug and play. not so much. after plugging it in, i had to chose a file path or something like that for the driver. but before this the "debug light" immediately lit up. and is still lit up when plugged in the computer. also, i have no ability to connect with thby morrist - Controllers
alright, il make sure to try and get that from them. they are having email issues right now, pretty impossible to get ahold of them except by phone morristby morrist - General Mendel Topics
does the monolithic board require me to add the firmware all over again? i need to call and check on its progress of being sent morristby morrist - General Mendel Topics
i already set the exchange up with lambert at techzone, so this isn't exactly costing me anything to switch. i may possibly upgrade to ramps in the future. for now though, it would be nice to just have a working machine. i will definitely keep your suggestions in mind morristby morrist - General Mendel Topics
try this verify and compile the sketch plug in the usb to the board. hit upload press the reset button on the board when the window tells you the sketch size then it should say done uploading. let me know if that works for you morristby morrist - Controllers
ended up abandoning these electronics. i am getting the techzone monolithic set hopefully very soon. from what ive read they have much less problems. Morristby morrist - General Mendel Topics
viktor, im not exactly sure how to measure the current. i set my multimemter to the 20v setting, and its bouncing between 1 and .4 volts. if i disconnect the extruder it appears to work the way it should. morristby morrist - Controllers
hey viktor, i have another question you may be able to answer. i wired everything together and i now cannot drive the stepper motors. when i disconnect the extruder board, i can drive the motors. any idea on what this issue may be? im wondering if something is consuming too much power or if there is a short Morristby morrist - Controllers
so ive got it all wired up, and it seems like nothing is recieving enough power. everything worked okay before the extruder controller was connected. i am in the process of trouble shooting that now. morristby morrist - General Mendel Topics
viktor, i got it working. thanks again for your helpby morrist - Controllers
i gotta wire it up and test it out. have been at work alot this week, hopefully tomorrow we will find out Moristby morrist - General Mendel Topics
viktor, worked great. thank you morristby morrist - General Mendel Topics
Viktor, i dont exactly know what the baudrate is. im very sure the serial port and the board are selected correctly, so perhaps it is the baudrate*. Morristby morrist - Controllers
rhmorrison, still cant get it to work. here is what i did, maybe im missing something. i hit verify /compile. then i held down the reset button, pressed upload, then when it said uploading sketch size 6922 i released the reset button, and i still got the errors. i really have no idea what is going wrong with this. thanks for taking the time to try to help me Morristby morrist - Controllers
i have tried the reset trick. does anyone have more specific instructions on how to do it? maybe im just doing it wrong Morristby morrist - General Mendel Topics
i am trying to re flash the firmware on my techzone extruder controller, and i so far can get the code to compile in arduino, but i get a couple of errors when i go to upload. avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x30 avrdude: stk500_disable(): protocol error, expect=0x14, resp=0x51 i have tried holding the reset button down then hitting upload, i re terminated the cables and i am usby morrist - Controllers
have the code compiling to flash the extruder, but when i go to upload it i am getting two errors avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x30 avrdude: stk500_disable(): protocol error, expect=0x14, resp=0x51 i have tried holding the reset button down then hitting upload, i re terminated the cables and i am using arduino 0021. i cant seem to find anything else to make this work Morristby morrist - General Mendel Topics
chase, i sent you a pm, dont know if you received it. also, how do i get into the firmware exactly?( stupid question, but i haven't been able to find this out). im going to try checking all the cables now, and reload the firmware onto the extruder board. Morristby morrist - General Mendel Topics
