Hi John, Is it possible to include a delete function on the Gcode Files page please to remove g files from the SD card. Another addition which might be useful is a button for G32 in the quick commands section. Thank you for all your effortsby appjaws1 - Ormerod
Thanks Ray, Where do I put the ini file ? --Don't be rude-- Do I rename it as the current_profile. At the moment I have put it in the root Cura's directory --is that correct? Do I have to load it when cura is running or somehow select it? You can tell I'm not very experienced with these things.by appjaws1 - Ormerod
I have been trying Cura and am using the plugin, Cura_Ormerod_V2.4.zip, however, I have obviously got something wrong in my set up because when I go to print the g file produced by Cura the printer try's to print the whole thing at -X and -Y positions. I'm not sure if I have the correct machine selected - RepRap, When I check the machine settings they have changed from what I inputted, I'm notby appjaws1 - Ormerod

Hi Kim, Can you post the sti file please. It looks as if the fan will be on top blowing down. Is that correct? I'm wondering if that design can be incorporated with the one piece fan assembly.by appjaws1 - Ormerod
Yes I have retraction set at 4mm and I have operated at 190 hot end and 60 bed temperature. I think it is a cooling problem but I'm not sure if the filament is cooling too quickly or not.by appjaws1 - Ormerod
Yes slic3r has that option selected. Any idea about the unevenness in the Hollow Dodecahedron?by appjaws1 - Ormerod
Hi all, I have installed various mods, the latest being the integrated one piece fan. I am not sure if my temperatures or airflow are too low or too high but if you look at the picture you can see that from the first joint the finish is knobbly and appears to get worse as the legs are grown outwards. At the next joint, when the legs start to come towards the centre, things improve. The raft atby appjaws1 - Ormerod
yes I have had this. I do not issue a G1 Z0 after I have set Z0 at X100 Y100. I just raise the nozzle a bit and then select the print job from SD and go. It works perfectly. I don't know why the G1 Z0 command sets Z0 incorrectly or indeed where to look to correct it but I am sure somebody on this forum does.by appjaws1 - Ormerod
So, I guess the only thing to do is to design items with larger holes. The problem with that is deciding how much bigger the hole should be because the hole error gets larger as the hole size reduces. Would their be a formula that could be applied? I only want to affect small hole sizes e.g. bolt holes of 3,4,5 and 6mm diameter. So I don't want to introduce more errors in other parts of the printby appjaws1 - Ormerod
Thank you I couldn't see for looking.by appjaws1 - Slic3r
I had the same problem. You can put 2,3 or 4 washers on top of the hot end insulator, beneath the nozzle mount, this will raise the fan assemble. The other thing to check is that the whole hot end assembly is vertical. This is controlled by the bearing on the x carriage, most people have printed a replacement part called big slot, this item allows the bearing to be adjusted closer to the supporby appjaws1 - Ormerod
I think you would be better off at this stage to abandon the IR sensing. Set the bed up mechanically. Follow the installation instructions about setting the bed compensation manually in the 4 corners. I use for P0 X60 Y5, P1 X60 Y170, P2 X200 Y170 and P3 X200 Y5. Zero Z when at P0, by lowering onto a slip of normal printer paper until moving the paper just catches the print head. Then issue a G92by appjaws1 - Ormerod
Hi, I noticed in the manual it says about Sequential Printing of parts that are on the platter. I am using slic3r version 1.0.0RC3 and the expert mode but I can not see any options that I can set to complete individual objects and to set the clearances. Thank you for any helpby appjaws1 - Slic3r
Great, Good job, I'll try it out as soon as this print finishes. Paulby appjaws1 - Ormerod
Thank you, I have retightened the belt and will apply the correction and see if that helps. How do I solve the 3 rings problem? Paulby appjaws1 - Ormerod
Hi dc42, I have just completed a print with 100mm length at right angles. In the x direction it was spot on but in the Y direction it was 99.89mm. I know this is a small amount but how would I compensate for it. I have also printed the 3 rings in the original pla and they do not fit together the dimensions are:- Original PLA The height is 9.96 30mm ring : outside = 29.76mm - inside = 19.29mmby appjaws1 - Ormerod
Hi Erik, I have done over the last week or so everything you and others have suggested and now use the spreader plate as my base. I am getting P0, P1 and P2 to 0.0 but P3 is -1.39. I can see why the outer rod could be causing this but I cannot see how to adjust the position of the Y plate. It seems that either the left hand side needs to be higher by 1.39mm or the right hand side needs to be loweby appjaws1 - Ormerod
Thank DC42 and arnaud31, I have tried lowering the temperatures but I then get problems with the filament not sticking to the bed. I am currently printing a ring test at 189 hot end and 60 bed. I had to start off with the bed at 65 to get the filament to stick. I did the ruler check and it looks as if I could be a little short in the Y direction i.e. 0.5mm over 100 mm length. DC42 how do I use tby appjaws1 - Ormerod
Thanks for that, perhaps things aren't as bad as I thought. So back to trying to solve the shrinkage problem. Paulby appjaws1 - Ormerod
Hi Matt, Well My measurements are very similar to yours:- The height is 10.28 30mm ring : outside = 29.72mm - inside = 19.52mm 20mm ring : outside = 19.63 - inside = 9.66mm 10mm ring : outside = 9.82mm - inside = 1.6mm I am going to try with my original white pla as supplied with the kit and see how that reacts. I'm a little confused if I upscale in slic3r by 1% will that make the outsidby appjaws1 - Ormerod
Thanks DC42, I was using the standard Pronterface, when I use the python version all is well. Thanks for the advice.by appjaws1 - Ormerod
Hi all, I am using windows7. If I have Pronterface running and start thunderbird I get the main screen and the password screen as normal but when I input the password, it just asks for it again and again. If I stop Pronterface then thunderbird works as normal. The 2 programs are in conflict, why I don't know. Has anybody else experienced this? any help would be appreciated Paulby appjaws1 - Ormerod
Hi dc42, Thank you for all your work. Can I order a kit 5 please Thanks again Paulby appjaws1 - Ormerod
Thank you Matt, I'll print the rings and see how the measurements compare to yours. Paulby appjaws1 - Ormerod
Hi I thought I had my Ormerod set up correctly ( at long last ), however when I printed the replacement gears provided by Matt I discovered the motor shaft hole was far too small. I did print a set a few weeks ago using the pla supplied with the kit and they fitted well. I just wanted a different color so I am using another pla and it looks as if the items are slightly under size. As a test, Iby appjaws1 - Ormerod
I am using DC42's firmware, I'll check again when my current print has finished. I think I had over 42, I will count this time. Thank you for the info. Paulby appjaws1 - Ormerod
Is their a limit to the number of g files you can have on the SD card? I had 40 transferred from my computer to the SD card but when I installed the card in Ormerod and went to print, the list of files was incomplete. I wanted to print the last file that was loaded but couldn't see it. I then took out the SD card and loaded it onto my computer and all the files were on the card. I reduced the nuby appjaws1 - Ormerod
