Thanks for the info folks, I can confirm that there is alot of plastic in the teeth, so will work that out and test the tension. Thanks Grizby grizgrand - General
Would anyone in the community be willing to send/rent (or sell) me a working hotend and extruder for a couple of weeks. I would like to solve a few issues with my own extruder and would like a working (plug and play) version to begin trials from. I am using gen6 electronics and 3mm abs (some pla kicking about too). The main issue I am trying to solve is that my hobbled bolt is chewing up the aby grizgrand - General
Any news on this development? Does anyone have a working heated bed with gen6 electronics?by grizgrand - Controllers
Thanks for the advice. I bought my glass today (20 quid, local craft shop). It is heat-resistant and sized correctly to fit over the bed. Just a few more days workn and this callsign will have a printer!by grizgrand - General
I have the red PCB heated bed and would like to clarify the construction, before i start routing wires etc for my Mendel REPRAP From what i have read in previous posts 1. I cannot print directly onto the PCB - the side that says "HOT DO NOT TOUCH" etc 2. Glass is best as a surface above the PCB. 3. The glass must be pyrex or some form of toughened glass so that the heat does not shatter it 4.by grizgrand - General
Sounds good. Is anyone familiar with the properties of Nink or similar for creating resistive or capacitive/inductive elements? We are always going to have to add IC's ourselves, but even at £200 a catridge, the price points become attractive. The website claims 800 sheets per catridge. At best that is 25p a sheet = 1 motherboard. Even say this is as much as £2-4 a sheet including resistive andby grizgrand - Developers
Hi Folks, I would like to put forward the idea of a reference "Hello World" part that any printer can make to A) prove that it can print and provide a measure of the accuracy and quality of the build Thinking along the lines of a inkjet calibration test page where the lines are printed and you can tell which are aligned, Would it be possible to design a part using minimal material to showcaseby grizgrand - Developers
Hi all, I am new to the reprap community and i'm currently sourcing the parts for my first Mendel. I am keen to get a printer up and running fast so as i can look at the design and work on new extruder heads and materials. I will buy the kit and gen6 electronics to start with. I'm Gary by the way :-) I have a background in electronics and computing. Some experience in device programming and coby grizgrand - General

Hi all, Has anyone thought of printed electronics? Kind of inkjet technology where organic or inorganic(metalic) traces are layered down onto almost any material. From my limited reading this technique can already provide advanced logic circuits and some form of capacitors and resistors. I would like to know if this could extend to the power electronics we would require for a full board. Iby grizgrand - Reprappers
