Thanks for the tip. I won't tin the ends next time.by sprue - Controllers
I have a Melzi V2.0 running for about 3 years now, and I was doing some printing today, and I noticed what appears to be an overheating problem where the main power enters the board. I attach a photo. The screw terminal block has melted, but the PCB itself looks OK. I have now unsoldered the block ready for replacement. The PCB is on a RepRapPro Mendel 2 (Tricolour) - though I do not yet have tby sprue - Controllers
Cheers. FAT16 that's what I needed. Working OK again now.by sprue - General
I have a Melzi board with a 2Gb micro SD card. It all used to work OK, then I used the SD card for some Linux stuff and now I can't get anything to write to the SD card from Pronterface. If I write to the card under Linux, then Pronterface/Melzi doesn't see the files. SENDING:M20 Begin file list End file list SENDING:M21 Error:volume.init failed So the $64,000 question is ... Thanks for the reply. I have just found a troubleshhoting page with my problem ... here It seems that getting past 100 deg C will be a problem with this hardwareQuoteThe Mendel heatbed can max out at around 100C, due to the thermal mass of the aluminium and glass. , and some parts under the bed can melt !QuoteAnother problem when printing ABS on a Mendel is that the PLA belt clamps under the beby sprue - General Mendel Topics
Trying to use ABS for the first time on a Reprappro Mono Mendel Can't seem to get the bed temp up to the suggested 110 deg C. After an hour it gets up to about 100, and that's it. I'm guessing the bed should heat up quicker than that. How long should I be waiting ? I've got a glass bed and Kapton tape Anyone got some suggestions as to what can be wrong.by sprue - General Mendel Topics
Did you find a solution to this ? I have the same problem.by sprue - Reprappers
Thanks. I was missing the --load option. The gcode is different, I'll try a print tomorrow - too late in day now. Thanks again.by sprue - General
Where are Slic3r profiles saved ? If I use Pronterface and do a Settings -> Slicing Settings it appears to pick up my profiles from ~/.Slic3r and it knows my nozzle and filament size But if I then slice something, by using Pronterface to File -> Open -> some .stl file, then Slic3r is called OK, but, the resultant gcode has a completely different nozzle and filament size, so the print iby sprue - General
Thanks for the suggestion. /usr/share/perl5/vendor_perl/Slic3r is a directory - no wonder I could not run it. /usr/bin/slic3r was what I should have used. I guess I should RTFM. Slicing perfectly now. Thanks for your help.by sprue - General
For the first time I have just tried using Pronterface to send a file to Slic3r, and it fails with a "Permission denied" error. Full log is ... Thanks. OK I see now. I had my MDF board upside down so could not see the markings. Thanks againby sprue - General
Just building my RepRap Mendel. The instructions (concerning the heatbed) say ... "Bend the LED's legs and resistor legs as shown above and insert them from the MDF insulator side. The longer LED leg goes to the end marked +." Yeah, OK, but there is no + marked on the PCB. So which/where is positive. ... or should I do what I normally do in these cases, which is wait until it's powered up andby sprue - General
