I think my kit has the same screw problems. I didn't have any that were short enough so I had to use 4 washers stacked on each screw to be able to get it tight. If I was able to put in a screw with just one washer I think I wouldn't have the clearance problem. But the screws bottom out. Guess I will order shorter repacements from the web.by blktoptrvl - Reprappers
(1) How does the wooden gear lock onto the motor shaft? Mine just spins. I was thinking of getting a brass colar with a set screw and then gluing the wood gear to the colar. (2) Am I the only one who had to remove one of the motor mounting screws from the build because it interferes with the belt travel?by blktoptrvl - Reprappers

I posted in the General forum before coming here. (Getting plenty of views - but no comments.) This looks like the right place to get feedback on builds? I have a lasercut Mendel. I have gotten through 90% the mechanical build but am not sure where to go from here. My problem is that I cannot find instructions anywhere except for a blog or two. At this time I have three issues stopping me frby blktoptrvl - Reprappers
I have taken the frog plate out again because I just cannot understand what the reason for the gap between the plate and the bearing is for. It seems that if I remove this gap by bolting the plate directly to the bearing carriers it will give me more clearance. Does anyone have any input in this? Any help would be appreciated!by blktoptrvl - General
Hello again, I see plenty of reads. but not comments. So I guess I will assume it is correct so far. My problem going forward is that I have no idea how the springs are supposed to support the bed. Does anyone have a picture?by blktoptrvl - General
I have just finished the basic mechanical build of my LaserCut Mendel. There were many steps along the way where I was not sure I was putting it together correctly (no detailed instructions). So before I start the final balancing and locking down the nuts with locktite, I would appreciate it if people who have sucessfully built machines would let me know if you see anything wrong in these pictuby blktoptrvl - General
Hello All, I am new to the board and I have a question about the assembly. I am kinda stuck because in none of the pictures can I see how the z-lead screw is attached to the frame at the top. Does anyone have these photos? Thanks Edit: I found my own aswer just seconds after posting (after searching for about half-an-hour). There is no attachment at the top.by blktoptrvl - General Mendel Topics
