Hey Rob, What do you guys do at your 'unpatched tuesdays'?by Adam.m.Nelson - Canada, London RUG
Oh, I had a blog, but had to send my laptop to my brother (He's still in university and his got stolen). I'll try to update the blog sometime today. My blog is here: http://adamsblog-reprapbuildup.blogspot.com Does anyone in the London or the GTA have PLA filament for sale?by Adam.m.Nelson - Canada, London RUG
Nope, that makes perfect sense, but I did't want to buy the wire twice , its on order now, thanks guysby Adam.m.Nelson - Reprappers
We'll be at capable of making parts soon (Maybe even by mid December if we can find filament).by Adam.m.Nelson - Canada, Toronto RepRap User Group
Bill, That sounds great, I'm at UWO all the time . We've pretty much finished our Mendel made from Plywood (we're just waiting on Nichrome wire and filament) but hope to get a printed Mendel up soon after we get printing material.by Adam.m.Nelson - Canada, London RUG
What gauge Nichrome wire is best for this application? The build wiki state 7 ohms of wire but no gauge. Thanks!by Adam.m.Nelson - Reprappers
Awesome, Message sent, thanks gents!by Adam.m.Nelson - Reprappers
Does anyone know a good supplier of PLA and ABS plastic in Canada (Ontario prefferably)? We are activly trying to find a supplier and aren't getting many warm responses. We aren't necessarily looking for the cheapest source, just a reliable one On a side note, is anyone willing to ship me 1 meter piece of PLA filiment so we can test our unit while we wait to find a supplier? I'm more then wiby Adam.m.Nelson - Reprappers
Yeah I have 32 8mm ID and 22mm OD bearings that i used thinking they were the right size, i guess I'll have to build new ones once we are ready to build the plastic Mendel (very very soon). Does anyone have a good online source for these?by Adam.m.Nelson - Reprappers
Yeah i thought we needed to use standard skateboard bearings so my whole repstrap Mendel uses bearings that have a 7mm ID and approx 22mm ODby Adam.m.Nelson - Reprappers
ok, so I pretty much have my Mendel built and have come to realize my bearings are too big for the extruder pinch wheel assembly. Does the extruder use a different sized bearing then the rest of the build, or have I used the wrong size bearings all around?by Adam.m.Nelson - Reprappers
Seems I don't read enough. Where does one locate the ball race for the extruder assembly? I thought it was a ball bearing Thanks!by Adam.m.Nelson - Reprappers
Support Material Idea: Instead of using another material (plastic or what have you) what if the support material was the same as the build material and we just put a thin layer of releasing agent between the build and the support material? This of course only works for some build shapes (you need to be able to get the support parts out), but should be easier then trying to use two materials, noby Adam.m.Nelson - General
Has anyone looked at PVA Plastic as a support Material? From what I read its water soluble and can be engineered to melt at various temperatures. I havn't looked into it very hard, but heres one of the links I have read. PVA Plasticby Adam.m.Nelson - General
nophead, QuoteI can only see a moral obligation to pass on two sets for free if you received a free set in the first place. If you paid £750 for a RapMan then there is a lot less incentive. You nailed it on the head with this statement. We've received very little to no assistance in our project (we've received tonnes of encouragement though), but we still intend to offer a cheap kit to someonby Adam.m.Nelson - For Sale
Yeah that looks fantastic!by Adam.m.Nelson - General Mendel Topics
excellent, can you send me an email to adamnova@sympatico.ca so we can finalize things?by Adam.m.Nelson - For Sale
Awesome, I am just talking with my partner to see how we are going to do this. Thanks a bunch for the print off!!by Adam.m.Nelson - For Sale
Yeah that works, we are in London Ontario Canada postal code N6C 5B6by Adam.m.Nelson - For Sale
Any extruder will work for now! If you're still willing to print the plastic parts please let me know how much and a tentative time line. Thanks!!!by Adam.m.Nelson - For Sale
Hmmm thats a good idea. I have drawing files for the bearing mounts (If someone wants them just email me for now). From what I saw it looks like trystanlea has most of the Z Axis figured out.by Adam.m.Nelson - General Mendel Topics
I got the Y-Axis mounted and it seems to work well, I'll make a more detailed blog tomorrow with photos and a screen shot of the cad drawing. Does anyone know how/where i can host the CAD files to be downloaded?by Adam.m.Nelson - General Mendel Topics
This is an awesome project!! I am adding it to my list of things to do after my RepRap is up and running!by Adam.m.Nelson - Let's design something! (I've got an idea ...)
I think they're the same as Darwins extruder assy.by Adam.m.Nelson - For Sale
Ours is made out of Ply woodby Adam.m.Nelson - General Mendel Topics
yeah that would work. You'll love the new design, so simple it hurtsby Adam.m.Nelson - General Mendel Topics
Hey another wooden one I'll have some cad files to post soon. Trystanlea if you are interested in working together let me know, I think there will be a fair amount of engineering involved. The bearing design I posted last week has a new revision that makes it MUCH easier to work with, and I have a CAD file of it which I am trying to figure out how to get posted. Other then that, your build lby Adam.m.Nelson - General Mendel Topics
Dido, We are working on a RepStrap in Mendel form; its going pretty well so far. Uhh the blog for it is here Even though we haven't found much in the way of parts support we are going to print off systems to promote this project as well.by Adam.m.Nelson - Reprappers
Yeah, They are out of stock, and have been for a month or so now. I emailed them to see how long they thought they would be. They are currently building up CupCake CNC's and don't know when they will be getting more extruder's in Thanks for the reply though.by Adam.m.Nelson - For Sale
