Yep, we should have mentioned that. It's metric. We plan to do an imperial one eventually because that reduces the cost of hardware in the U.S. Toddby tbfleming - For Sale

I bought this set and got it running on a test bench tonight. Wow this thing really pumps out plastic! I'm using it with: Reifsnyderb's TB-HYBRID1 (3/16" groove) and N-RR2 (.5mm) MakerGear's HeatCore and Modular Thermistor MakerBot's extruder board (heater control only), stepper board, and Nema 17 I had to carve out the nozzle hole and motor holes and make some modifications to be compatible wiby tbfleming - For Sale
I thought I remembered that the Mendel is GPL, but when I checked with the Wiki to make sure, I couldn't find where the license is mentioned. Should this be placed somewhere prominent? Toddby tbfleming - Administration, Announcements, Policy
A quick note on the hardware: the qty of nuts, bolts, washers, etc. changed. We also had to change some of the bar lengths. Brett is cutting parts for prototype #3 today; if we're satisfied with the result then we'll produce a final part count and start producing kits.by tbfleming - General New Machines Topics
The belts and pulleys have all arrived, but we're still working on improvements. I started a Wiki page and I began assembly documentation. I'd like some feedback on the assembly documentation; does it look like this style will work, or should I try a different approach to document assembly?by tbfleming - General New Machines Topics

Development is progressing; we made some changes to the X carriage (our previous one was a bit of a pain to assemble; now it's easier), the Y carriage (fewer parts than last week's version), and modified the frame vertexes to make room for the mechanics. Here's prototype #2 printing:by tbfleming - General New Machines Topics

My brother Brett and I are working on a new RepStrap design based on the Mendel: Its parts are produced by 2-1/2-D CNC machines It's belt driven It completed its first test print today using a MakerBot extruder! Brett is stitching together the video footage of its first print; I hope to have it posted sometime tonight. Even though it's printing, it's not quite ready yet. I printed the X carriage on my MakerBot. The key is to either use PLA or a heated build platform if you use ABS. Either way, a raft isn't needed. Toddby tbfleming - General
I use * Sherline 2000 CNC mill * Sherline manual lathe * MakerBot Someday I need to pick from one of the many solutions people have posted in Sherline forums for getting rid of the excessive backlash. Right now milled holes come out weirdly shaped Toddby tbfleming - General
