Yeah, I was looking at things from the front's perspective.... dummy me I'll have to approach the problem I'm having--when I get back to it, from the back's perspective. Thanksby 55rebel - Prusa i3 and variants
Yes wderoxas, my configuration.h file compiles just fine. The error come when I tried changing... // set the rectangle in which to probe #define LEFT_PROBE_BED_POSITION 15 #define RIGHT_PROBE_BED_POSITION 170 #define BACK_PROBE_BED_POSITION 180 #define FRONT_PROBE_BED_POSITION 20 To... // set the rectangle in which to probe #define LEFT_PROBE_BED_POSITION 170 #define Rby 55rebel - Prusa i3 and variants
Quotethis puts the sensor at the right front of your hotend. Does this correspond to your sensors location? Yes, this would be correct. When I first open up Repetier-Host, as shown below, what I marked as front, is actually the back? Folger Tech's build manual directed me to put the end stops @ right and front of printer. To remove confusion in Marlin and Repetier, should I relocate end-sby 55rebel - Prusa i3 and variants
Scenario... Installed proximity sensor--LJ12A3-4-Z-BX for auto leveling, with the necessary voltage divider. Result: just under 4V output, and responds well to my PEI covered aluminum bed. When I try to home via the home button for ALL axis or via (G28), the sensor keeps attempting to home off the print bed--back/right corner Side note: Clicking on just the Z axis home button, gives no responby 55rebel - Prusa i3 and variants
My Repetier-Host shows Home where my end-stops dictate--right/back corner. Here is the Configuration.h file that I am using. Any help in editing it for my build, would be sweet. Maybe someone with Folger Tech's prusa i3 that has gone through this scenario.... Thx //=========================================================================== //=============================Mechanical Settings==by 55rebel - Prusa i3 and variants
Thanks for the reply wderoxas, but unless the new version of Marlin as a hidden switch that somehow converts all the axis from min to max, I'm not too sure about that logic, because my printer was working/homing just fine on the minimum settings/connections, before the proximity sensor (and Marlin upgrade to newer version), which is only meant to replace the mechanical Z end-stop. Granted I did uby 55rebel - Prusa i3 and variants
hmmm?.... now that I'm looking at the defined rectangle in Marlin, they seem to be reversed. My X axis end stop is on the right side of printer, and Y stop on front. .....I'll get back. P.S. Well, reversing X & Y probe points, to where they would seem more friendly to my build, throws up an error when compiling: C:\Users\Mark\AppData\Local\Temp\build1479576133429720467.tmp\Configuration.hby 55rebel - Prusa i3 and variants
Quotewderoxas My printer just needs: G28 - It will home on X and Y then go to the middle of the bed to home the Z. Not sure if this is due to SAFE_HOMING option.... I take it that your code looks something like this--same as mine?... #define Z_SAFE_HOMING // This feature is meant to avoid Z homing with probe outside the bed area. // When defined, it will:by 55rebel - Prusa i3 and variants
Thanks for the responses guys. I did figure it out, though. In Repetier-Host >> open the Slic3r tab >> click on "Manager" >> under "Slic3r Executable" >> click "Browse" >> locate newer version of Slic3r.exe >> click "Open" >> DONE! As a side note: The algorithms used are still... a bit retarded :/ Oh Well, I guess beggars can't be choosy.by 55rebel - Reprappers

Is there a way to update repetier-Host's version of slic3r, instead of waiting for repetier-Host to update? ....inquiring minds want to know Thanks, Markby 55rebel - Reprappers

Indeed, I did have these problems--on both counts I shaved off some bearing to fit, and drilled holes BIGGER. Sorry... but this kit really does S**K... when it comes to QC, and materials used. sungod3k... Yeah, I checked out that Meshmixer....really like the support features, compared to what Slic3r and Cura provide; MUCH easier removing them, depending on what your trying to build ....like the items in the above images. Worked out really nice for the drag-chain--sweeeeet!. Haven't tried it on that extruder fan-duct...yet. Thanks for that one!! IMBoring25... I tried that 1.2.6 versioby 55rebel - Reprappers
Hmm? I haven't noticed anything in the lower right corner indicating an error; like I said, I'm using Repetier-Host which utilizes Slic3r. I'll have to pay particular attention next time I slice something. Thanks for the heads-up IMBoring25. ....Gee, you don't seem that boring to meby 55rebel - Reprappers
Sorry IMBoring25, not sure I understand what your saying. Would you mind spelling this out for me? Thanksby 55rebel - Reprappers
Thanks for the response Vanbot I'm using Repetier Host. Yea, I tried using Cura--should have mentioned this... it as its own set of issues. Like not providing any support for the male protrusions for connecting those same cable-chain links (above). I really don't think that that would work too well, or am I missing something here?by 55rebel - Reprappers
It would seem that Slic3r is a bit retarded, when it comes to support material... And... Anyone know of another slicer/program that does not suffer from these issues? Thanksby 55rebel - Reprappers
I would suggest that you uninstall Repetier Host and reinstall, or whichever program you are using to slice with. And... When you slice your project, make sure that ALL layers are being shown/represented in the preview tap. ...Good Luckby 55rebel - Prusa i3 and variants

QuoteVanbot I couldn't upload the new firmware to the Arduino as long as the printer was plugged into mains power. Somehow that was occupying the port or something. Once we unplugged it we could suddenly upload to the Arduino whereas before we got errors. I have to make sure that Repetier Host software is not connected, when uploading to the Mega, or I get errors, due to the fact that Repetierby 55rebel - Reprappers

Thanks for the quick responce ggherbaz. In main settings, the only options provided for are for the X and Y axis ....that I can tell; both presently set at 200 each I don't use slic3r or Repetier, What is it that you use?by 55rebel - Reprappers
Build: Folger Tech Prusa i3 RAMPS 1.4 Arduino Mega Running: Repetier Host V1.0.6 Arduino V1.6.3 --> Marlin_RAMPS_EPCOS_i38 When trying to slice an object with a height of 120 mm, I get a warning that "At least one object is outside the printable area...." Well, tried: 270, 470, 1k and 100k resistors.....nada As far as that second pot is concerned, I will have to drill a hole through the rear board to gain access....ugh.
