Just made another print without fans, same result. Any tips?by woutwoot - General
QuoteAtl I print petg at 240-250 depending on the color, bed at 70, speed at 60mm/s and no parts fan - I get great later adhesion and the parts are very strong. What brand filament are you using? Are you using a parts cooling fan? I'm using "REAL filament", should be good quality filament. I do use the parts fan. Should I turn that off? The thing that's bugging me is that spiralize prints haveby woutwoot - General
I'm using E3Dv6 Lite and I'm trying to print with PETG. When I use spiralize for prints, they turn out really nice. However, when I try to print something without using spiralize I feel like there is bad layer adhesion and the prints look very brittle. Is this normal for PETG or am I using wrong temperatures or something else? I'm printing at 240 nozzle and 70 bed. Speed is set to 50mm/sby woutwoot - General
QuoteErikL Quotewoutwoot QuoteErikL There already was kapton tape arround the hot end when I bought this printer so I need to add more layers? That kapton tape is there to attach the thermistor. Yes, I'd try adding a few extra layers. I tried extra layers of kapton tape on the hot end but I don't see a significant difference with it... Maybe I had to tape them with some air between, for added iby woutwoot - Prusa i3 and variants

QuoteErikL And what kind of insulation should I add? Were you guys required to do this too? Or is it just my printer not being able to keep temperature high enough... I used PTFE tape, but kapton tape will probably be better. After I did this my printer was able to better maintain temperature.by woutwoot - Prusa i3 and variants
QuoteErikL I'm trying to pring my first object in PETG but for some reason I have layer adhesion problems. Could this be because of printing too cold? I tried increasing the temperature to 245°C already but while printing the printer reads 216°/245°. It looks like it's not getting hot enough. Any idea why it's not going to 245 while printing? I think you need more insulation around your hot endby woutwoot - Prusa i3 and variants
Something different, have any of you managed to print ABS without it warping? I can only get my bed to go to about 92 max, while the recommended bed temp for ABS is 110. Every time I print in ABS I start to see warping after a few layers. PLA works fine. I've tried hairspray and tape as adhesive, both without success. Any tips for printing ABS on this printer?by woutwoot - Prusa i3 and variants
How can I upload firmware with Arduino to this printer? Compile works, but upload does not. EDIT: Replied to wrong thread...by woutwoot - Firmware - mainstream and related support
Quotebmark25116 Hi wotwood The resistors are urgently needed to et the output Voltage to the right level . Or you cn buy a sensor from Zonestar where the resistors built in. There are different types of sensors (NPN or PNP is easy to say the switching direction) usually I think it NPN, but not at all you can adapt this in the firmware. If you do it like this guys, it will work. Bernd Website sby woutwoot - Prusa i3 and variants
So I'm still working on auto bed leveling. I'm completely lost on which sensor I should buy... I've read multiple suggestions but it came down to these ones: - - - Which one do I need for this printer? What is NPN - PNP? I've read about having to add 15K and 10K transistors, ... is there a way to avoid doing that?by woutwoot - Prusa i3 and variants
Thanks! I will try those.by woutwoot - Prusa i3 and variants
Quotebmark25116 I bought the same type 6 weeks ago from Zonestar. I had ordered the printer with autobed leveling. But the delivered the printer without that. So I had to change the firmware and connect the sensor, which the the guys delivered with some other missing parts 3 weeks later. I was not exited about the quality of this kit...But now I have all the features working. If you want, I wiby woutwoot - Prusa i3 and variants
I also have this printer. But it does not have auto bed leveling. I was wondering if someone could create a step by step guide on how to add this to my printer. Preferably with links on which part you should print or buy. Because right now I'm very confused on what I have to do to get this feature. Are firmware changes needed? How do you make those changes etc...?by woutwoot - Prusa i3 and variants
