Well melamine is the white counter tops most cheap furniture use and like I mentioned before it is used in the magic erase sponges, they just dont use the word melamine. Coincidentally, the wiki page mentions that it is used in white boards which are cleaned sometimes with alcohol based cleaners. It is also used in dinnerware apparently. The amount dissolved by the alcohol is really low you aby lalalandrus - General
PLA on heated bare glass plate was great until I started printing larger prints. After much experimentation, I was unable to get good results until I tried cleaning the bed with one of those melamine sponges that I got from the dollar store (no name "Mr. CLEAN Magic Eraser"). It seems that warm rubbing alchol will slightly dissolve melamine. I found that wiping a warm bed with a melamine sponby lalalandrus - General
I tried looking online for mounts of the prusa style mk8 extruder for 2020 based deltas but i couldnt find one. Here is one that i designed so that we dont have to buy a bowden specific extruder that costs about 5 times more for a pretty one and at least twice as much for a mount that sticks out one one side and the screws are occluded by the motorby lalalandrus - Delta Machines
i am using 14 guage and that seems to work. i can see in your pictures that 5-10 layers from where you stopped it, it was already shifting to the left possibly from skipping steps. the random filament would be just the printer trying to print in mid airby lalalandrus - Delta Machines
if you using repetier host, it defaults to block unsafe moves. the other thing you should make sure is that all the end stops are in the proper state (all should be open unless in home position) using M119by lalalandrus - Delta Machines
i had an issue when i first started that was similar to that it was caused by too fast print speed married with low motor currents another issue that is known to happen is on the cheaper kits, either the power supply or the power supply cable is poor. this causes a larger than acceptable voltage drop when the motors (~1.3Ax4) + heater(~3.5A) is on try 1) changing the power supply or feed wireby lalalandrus - Delta Machines
i prefer the linear guide as it is stiffer and less parts to deal with and no adjustments needed for slop, but in terms of print quality, i have not heard anyone argue with proof which one is better both the rollers and linear guides are technically pulley systems as they both use the belts to move. something that you might want to take into account is a heated bed as printing without one makesby lalalandrus - Delta Machines
try a M119 to see that all the end stops are open and triggered when they should be. a friend bought the same printer and one of the end stops were brokenby lalalandrus - Delta Machines
the math will be in there somewhere, you can still modify the code to have the corrected lengths. the other option is to move to marlin as it is extremely hard to ensure all 6 rods are the same length and the eyelets are parallel my settings were obtained while changing the settings every 5mm using manual gcode additions to see what allowed my test print to round corners consistently at any z heby lalalandrus - Delta Machines
fine tune your smooth rod lengths using this tool here my jerk is at 5 but my accel is 4500 and the out dimensions prints within .1 mm (.005in) never used simplify but in slic3r sometimes i notice it doesn't take into account the inner dimensions as well as the outer ones, my inner dimensions are only good to 0.25mmby lalalandrus - Delta Machines
that program looks sexy! wondering if you have plans to release it, if so pretty please add a jerk modification option as wellby lalalandrus - Delta Machines
i finished a micromake kossel a month ago and having extremely good prints, i would recommend some thermal compound to secure the termister to the head as the stock configuration is not that great, right now my hot end is able to heat up without 30 seconds with only a 5 degree overshoot i also have the stock fan at the stock location running at minimum of 75% PWM when printing the comment abouby lalalandrus - Delta Machines
print this and do the math, i am within +/-0.005 inches x and y after calibrationby lalalandrus - Delta Machines
I have this really weird issue where the printer doesnt like to print flat at a certain spot. I cant seem to find any posts that has a similar issue. Here are some pictures of the same part front to back, one side is perfectly flat and the other side is warped (can see both ridges are warped with the middle higher than the sides). A couple things to note are: 1) that smoosh was from some filameby lalalandrus - Delta Machines
yea i started doing that and i kept doing m119 to see the switch states and was seeing the right ones were open and ignoring the missing switches.... ...until i saw this which means they all should have been open. i was ignoring the MIN_STOPS when i should not have. assumptions are not good! thanks for the help guys!by lalalandrus - Delta Machines
no it just crashes into the end stops (belts start slipping), really hope i can fix this before i destroy my printerby lalalandrus - Delta Machines
I have a RAMPS 1.4 running marlin 1.1-RC. The printer works in every way except that when I auto level, the printer wants to move in the "z" direction everytime. I have tried doing what was suggested in this thread as well as clearing the EEPROM and I seem to have no effect no matter what parameters I change in the configuration file. Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance. Attached isby lalalandrus - Delta Machines
i personally would recommend a gen6, pre fabbed, good price and more robust than fiddling around with individual drivers.by lalalandrus - Canada, Vancouver RepRap User Group

@malx mach3 takes gcode and does what the gcode tells it to do. skeinforge generates gcode. mach3 takes the extruder commands as just another black box "axis". put them together an bobs your uncle. the arduino electronics are also taking gcode commands as well. the difference is the gcode decoding happens on the board whereas for mach3 +parallel the gcode decoding happens on the computer and oby lalalandrus - General
From preliminary calculations and simulations the very worst case positioning error is .015 inches which is the just smaller than an average nozzle size for ABS. This would allow for single pass thin wall structures. With gearing a stepped motor upgrade can be better but the complexity and cost increases quite a bit.by lalalandrus - Delta Machines
I am new to the reprap community and wanted to guage the viability and interest in a deltrap kit. This kit will have the following paradigms - based on metal gear digital hobby servos (which will require extensive longevity testing) - stepper motor upgradeable the hobby servos is for entry level as this reduces the cost - require limited hardware, and electronics. the main reason for the delta wby lalalandrus - Delta Machines
