Still have the printer. I have 2 of them now and only need one. $550 shipped and its yours. Ships inside the US only. I'll throw in some glow in the dark pla too because i wont need that anymore.by gman - For Sale
I have a double nut on there. But i tightened it even more, it was only finger tight before. Will try again. Thanksby gman - General
I built a new extruder for my printer cause I had 2 printers sharing the same extruder lol. I had to swap it to each machine when I wanted to use it. The new one has a slight problem. The big gear tightens up and it stops moving after a few minutes. This is the standard greg's extruder. Anyone have any tips?by gman - General
Here's the shopping list I made a while back. Some of the ebay links might be gone but also a lot of the things were bought from mcmasters. The dowels with the hinges need to be 25cm from the hinge hole to hinge hole. I built it to specification Electronics: ---------------------------------------------- RAMPS 1.4 or similar $60 Heatbed $17 NEMA 17 $60 micro switches $5 Other Parts: --------by gman - General
Hey. I've got a makerfarm i3 also! I used my i3 to build a rostock delta printer. It has the same size heatbed as the markerfarm also. 3mm filament would work but 1.75 is more popular for bowden extruders.by gman - General
I got the lcd screen working and I successfully ran some gcode with it. It prints in the corner of the heatbed when it should be in the center. I think I read about the problem before but I can't find where I read it. Anyone know how to fix that?by gman - Delta Machines
I got it homing correctly now. I can move each direction in printrun and it looks pretty smooth and sounds good. But the lcd isnt working still. How do i have to set it up in the software to get it to work? It's the smaller lcd with clicker and buzzer btw. Thanks for all the help guys. This has been very hard for me especially since I know very little about coding and software.by gman - Delta Machines
I only have one per column but they are wired to the min pins I think. Which pins are for max?by gman - Delta Machines
Where are the max endstops wired to? I guess mine are wired to the min.by gman - Delta Machines
I tried what you said. My min endstops are functioning now but max endstops dont change and when I do a move in printrun, it says endstops triggered. I've already tryed inverting them too. Do i have the endstops on the wrong pins? I have them like they are on a prusa i3. My belts are as tight as I can possibly make them. I'll look into the bracket later but it doesnt appear to be a problem rightby gman - Delta Machines
I saw this video and my printer is acting similar to it. But my wiring is a whole lot neater than that one though.by gman - Delta Machines
Just finished my rostock and now am trying to get it to work. I have the hacked marlin flashed to it with the values changed. I've tryed many things, but the homing never works. I've inverted the switches in the code too. Sometimes the printer will move just a bit when I home it and others it just goes crazy. I'm pretty sure its wired up correctly. I've tested the switches with a multimeter and tby gman - Delta Machines
I'm almost done building this. The hardware is basically all assembled, I'm just waiting on an arduino in the mail still. I ordered the aluhotendv5 for this too but that also hasnt arrived yet. I printed L-brackets to hold the plywood. It's pretty sturdy.by gman - Delta Machines
Just ordered one! Cant wait to use it. Thanksby gman - For Sale
I need two pneumatic fittings 3/8 inch to 4mm tube for a bowden extruder. I live in the US.by gman - Wanted
Thanks for clearing that up. The hardest part for me will be figuring out which screw, washer and bearing to use but I'm looking at some pictures of a rostock build and I think I'll be able to figure it out.by gman - Delta Machines
I finally decided to build a rostock for my next printer because it seems like it uses less parts than most printers and its cool to watch. Also, I'm looking for more challenge than my prusa i3. Just have some things I want cleared up please. 1. Should I go with rods or the printed rods? Will it really matter? 2. Is there any kind of tutorial available? I'm mostly confused where to use which boltby gman - Delta Machines
I bought this reprap a few weeks ago. After getting it working, I've had no complaints with the printer. Everything is calibrated well and it performs well also. This was a kit I bought from makerfarm. It's the 8" prusa. It has the sd card lcd interface for stand alone printing without a computer. It has a .5mm jhead nozzle. Even though the printer works well, I want to sell it to pay for a new pby gman - For Sale
Tall print! Yeah I'm pretty convinced now. Can't wait to order it but I gotta finish up some commissions first.by gman - Ormerod
Once again i've got some money from working a few commissions. Seems like a wise decision to blow it all on another 3d printer! Right? I want to buy the ormerod but I'm uncertain about it. I can handle a challenge, but I havent seen many videos or pictures of the ormerod in action. The frame looks unstable to me especially next to my prusa i3. Anyone ever done any large prints that didnt suffer fby gman - Ormerod
Quotejzatopa Honestly I can give you $15, which is the price of the driver + a bit. There is a very good chance that only the new driver is good. But there's also the chance the other 4 work and the ramps work also! It's a gamble. I'll accept $15 plus shipping. pm me your address and I can get a shipping quote if your serious.by gman - For Sale
only the 1 which is brand new. I dont know whats working. For sale as is for $20by gman - For Sale
I damaged my electronic setup and completely replaced it. I dont know what works and what doesnt. The arduino doesnt show up on my computer so that is probably toast. 1 of the 5 stepper drivers is brand new and never used.Sold as is for $20 + shipping. EDIT: i said stepper motors but i meant the stepper driver boards. my bad. fixed.by gman - For Sale
I was considering sourcing the ormerod myself, but the price really adds up more than other printers I can build. Mostly because of the different sized 12mm bearings and the bowden extruder. Buying all the parts yourself is only slightly cheaper than a complete kit unfortunately which makes me want to save my money for a kit and save a lot of time too. Or I'll wait for them to sell hardware kitsby gman - Ormerod
I have a prusa i3, nema17 steppers, and ramps 1.4. I tried changing it once but after 1 hour of printing, they always skipped. I've finally gotten it to a point where I've printed for 6 hours straight which is my longest print successfully. They might be hot, but atleast they are working now.by gman - General
I'm in the process of choosing a new printer to build for fun mostly and the ormerod is really attractive to me despite its issues that may or may not be fixed yet (idk). I don't want to spend 500 euros on a kit because I think I can source it myself much cheaper. I have a small desktop cnc machine which I'll be able to cut acrylic pieces with so I'm good there. As nice as the duet board sounds,by gman - Ormerod
The extruder nozzle is the hottest. The z motors are warm, but not as nearly as hot. The x axis motor is warm probably because I put a heatsink on it. I tried putting a heatsink on the extruder motor but it didnt help much. How should I properly adjust the current? I've found that if it is too high or too low than I get shifting in my prints that take longer than 2 hours.by gman - General
Is it normal for my motors to be really hot? After printing for an hour, my motors are so hot I can only touch it for 1 second before I burn myself. What is a normal operating temperature? I have a prusa i3 btw.by gman - General
I got the new electronic board. It looks really clean and good. So far, it's working just like my old official one I had. For $62 which includes the arduino, ramps, 4 stepper drivers, heatsinks. I think this is the cheapest ramps solution. I test printed an octopus at 999%, the fastest possible and it came out decent too. Lesson learned: Dont work on printer when you are extremely tired.by gman - General
