Hi I asked Zach about the Sanguino pins and he said the pin outs will be published shortly. You could adapt the Arduino plans but be prepared for a few pins to change to make use of the extra capability of the Sanguino.by emt - Reprappers
Hi What motors are you using? EZ CNC drive is unipolar & will not run 4 wire motors according to their web site. Also for Reprap microstepping is no advantage. The Arduino registers currently used run out of resolution. I have 20 TPI screws and I can only use half step. This will be altered one day but I doubt if it will be that soon.by emt - Reprappers
Hi Are you using Gen 1 electronics or Arduino? If you are running under Windows to find out the port open Settings, Control Panel, System and look in hardware, device manager under Ports (Com & LPT). You should see the list of com ports and work out which one is the USB converter portby emt - RepRap Host
If you are after high quality joints you should avoid normal steel wool and use stainless steel wool. You should also use fresh wool each joint. If you use anything to clean surfaces that has been used on different materials you can get cross contamination that can weaken the joint. I have found out the hard way that for good welding and braising you really need to be squeaky clean. I understandby emt - Plastic Extruder Working Group
Hi Forrest Is the extrusion anodised? If so that may be part of the problem. I think you need to get the oxidisation off mechanically just before you braise.by emt - Plastic Extruder Working Group
Many thanks Enrique. Can't test at the moment as my machine is stripped for modification.by emt - RepRap Host
Hi You can set CommsDebug and Debug True in preferences. However you are using Arduino and I don't know how helpful debug will be. Arduino is new compared to the PIC electronics and as I believe what debug tells you will be dependant on the Arduino firmware it may not be of help. The problem you have with the endstop may be a bug in the firmware as I have seen something similar. I think the mby emt - RepRap Host
Hi You need to change the table in the library file as per these instructions 1. Lookup the values for your thermistor. 2. In the ThermoplastExtruder subdirectory of your Arduino library, create a symbolic link to the appropriate file (which will be something like Thermistor_r0_100000_t0_25_r1_0_r2_4700_beta_3960.h) called ThermistorTable.h. 3. Delete ThermoplastExtruder.o (if it exisby emt - RepRap Host
Hi In windows first go into settings, control panel, system, hardware, device manager. Under ports (COM & LPT) it should tell you the port number assigned to the USB. Then use search to find the reprap.properties file. Right click and edit. Search for Port(name) and change to match your com number. This must be in caps without spaces. Mine for example is Port(name)=COM4. Save the changes.by emt - RepRap Host
Hi Wade Have you got the latest host from the SVN. I understand Adrian has implemented buffering for move data that may help solve the hesitation you are seeing.by emt - RepRap Host
Hi Andy Only the library file you are editing. However, having got myself in a right mess by missing a change (got a high level interrupt and forgot where I was) I wrote a batch file that deletes all object files to force a full recompile of the firmware.by emt - RepRap Host
Hi I don't know what calibrate does either. Not all of the Host commands work with the Arduino electronics yet. I believe it has already been confirmed that the Extruder Heat Profiler does not work with the Arduino. I have had axes moving using Arduino electronics without having ever running calibrate so I don't think it is necessary.by emt - RepRap Host
Hi How are you sending G code commands to the Arduino to spin the motor? If you ever try to use Snap be aware that micro stepping and fine pitch ball screw produce a resolution that is too high. I have micro stepping drives and I am having to change to half steps (400 steps per rev) to keep within the current maximum resolution of the Arduino Snap firmware. Having said that I don't think it caby emt - RepRap Host
Hi Andy I can't help with the problem but I can confirm you must delete Arduino library object files to force a recompile. I routinely delete all the object files as it is easy to miss a change when downloading updates and if you do chaos reigns until you realise your error.by emt - RepRap Host
Hi Andy Are you using the extruder excerciser in the host? The value there is in degrees. First off I am sure the output goes high UNTIL you reach temperature so you will not see a duty cycle until you are hovering around the temperature required. So the signal you may need to look at is the temperature input and not PWM. If I look at the PWM led on my set up I can see the LED at full brightby emt - RepRap Host
Hi Andy I had trouble at this stage as well. In the end I guessed some numbers. I fixed 2 thermistors to the extruder. I then used the extruder Excerciser to set a temperature and then checked the second thermistor using a direct resistance measurement and the thermistor manufacturers table to establish the actual temperature. I played with the numbers until got reasonable results around 130by emt - RepRap Host
Hi Brendan I wasn't expecting conversion of volume to PWM. Just asking that Enrique maintains compatibility with Arduino G code which accepts the 'S' parameter as a number between 0 and 255. My implementation of Mach3 uses the Arduino G code firmware for extruder and heater control.by emt - RepRap Host
Hi Brendan For some CNC machines skeinforge takes the place of the post processor. The code output is usable directly into Mach3 without any further work so the option in skeinforge to output speed or volume as an S word should meet all requirements.by emt - RepRap Host
Hi Enrique EMC might be OK but Mach3 would have trouble with 2 S words on one line. No way of knowing which is which. How about sticking to a single S word and then having a flag in your software to set the S output as either speed or flow rate as required the machine hardware. Most machines would need one or the other but not both.by emt - RepRap Host
Some info here:-by emt - RepRap Host
Hi These parameters are due to the PIC/Arduino transition. It makes the Arduino emulate the PIC as that was what the host software was actually written for. Over time I guess the host will develop in a different way as the Arduino becomes the focus of hardware development. Your also right that it would be nice to have a check box but you must remember the software is largely a voluntary effortby emt - RepRap Host
Hi Did you change the properties file as per the instructions? Extruder0_Beta(K) 550.0 Extruder0_Capacitor(F) 0.000003 Extruder0_Rz(ohms) 4837 That is what I have and I get reasonable results. No good putting up my Thermistor table because it is different to yours. I had a little trouble setting mine up. In the end I fitted 2 thermistors one of which I use to check temperature by measby emt - RepRap Host
Hi I just downloaded latest release. This main panel appears OK running under windows but in the DOS window I see the following message:- Exception in thread "RepRap" java.lang.NullPointerException at javax.swing.ImageIcon.(Unknown Source) at org.reprap.gui.botConsole.PrintTabPanel.initComponents(Unknown Source) at org.reprap.gui.botConsole.PrintTabPanel.(Unknown Sourceby emt - RepRap Host
Hi I am running in Windows Using Eclipse I can build latest version, create jar etc. and run. As I am having timing problems I need to run outside of Eclipse. I have moved the created RepRap directory to program files. From there I run Reprap-host.bat I get the following error:- C:\Program Files\Reprap>java -cp ".;.\reprap.jar;C:\Program Files\Reprap\;C:\Pro gram Files\Reprap\reprap.jarby emt - RepRap Host
Hi I had trouble with checking out subversion earlier today but when I tried later no problem. Maybe a glitch?by emt - RepRap Host
Hi I use Windows. I have managed to install Eclipse parrot fashion and can checkout Reprap from subversion and build. I have also managed to do the same with NetBeans as that seems to be the way RepRap development is going. I still have a few things I still need to learn how to do. Question is do I use Eclipse or NetBeans? Pros & Cons?by emt - RepRap Host
Hi Enrique Putting the M30 after adding end.txt would be fine. However would it be better to put it in end.txt so users can change it? Also when I suggested generating basic start.txt and end.txt this must be if they don't exist. (Don't want to overwrite someone's carefully crafted set up files) Brendan M30 is rewind ie on some controls the programmes goes back to start and all you have toby emt - RepRap Host
Hi Zach Can't register to access wiki........by emt - RepRap Host
Hi Enrique Adding M30 at the end of the main file causes a problem if you use end.txt. M30 really means rewind (From paper tape days) and it blocks any code after the M30 (apart from sub routines, but that's another story) so could it be taken out to go in end.txt. I wondered also if it would help to generate start.txt and end.txt as boiler plate files so users just have to edit and add code. Enby emt - RepRap Host
Enrique Many thanks for your efforts, really appreciated, it has quickly brought me to the point of actual printing. This weekend all being well.by emt - RepRap Host
