I only use about a inch by half inch strip with a hole poked in it and it lasted about 3 weeks before it was to dirty for my liking with my regular filament sitting in a bucket with desiccant, I imagine a whole eraser will last me a decent amount of time. Also I am out of ideas, there is not a very long filament path with that printer.by zerodameaon - Printing
For foam cleaners I use magic erasers, so far the dirtiest new filament has been the makerbot stuff I got in a pinch. The nice thing about the magic eraser is it does not seem to flake off like regular sponges. So based on the cleaner you have a K8200, are you using any type of tubing up to the spool?by zerodameaon - Printing
The HP printer is made by Stratasys? Where did you see that, so far I have seen no mention of that. About two years ago they discontinued their agreement and went their separate ways. I mean it could be some back room deal to push each others companies along by "competing" with each other.by zerodameaon - General
There are options to make the first layer a different height then the following layers. If you feel its not perfectly accurate you can do something like a .1mm first layer then have everything else be .2.by zerodameaon - Printing
Those kind of seem like TIs "Me too" approach to the maker scene. Although the software has gotten much better recently.by zerodameaon - Reprappers
Quotestephenrc While the G29 is running, are either the X or Y endstops hit? If they are, then the home position for that axis is changed. You'll need to adjust the probe bed positions. For example, if X_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER is 52, then LEFT_PROBE_BED_POSITION needs to be greater than 52. If it's less, the x home position will be changed. I am having the same issue same issue as derletby zerodameaon - General Mendel Topics
I found out about the openbuild v slots a few weeks ago(a little late to the party) and thought that would be the perfect upgrade to a prusa, I am glad to see that someone else agreed. They need to have a 10" premium with acme screws instead of belts and the leadscrews they currently use. As for glass I have found that no home depot or lowes, at least in California due to safety and insurance rby zerodameaon - General Mendel Topics
I have zero issues with PLA and the E3D V6. The ability to print PLA was the whole reason I tossed my other all metal hot end in favor of the V6. The PLA issues were more true of the V5, but if you only plan on printing in PLA stick to the J head. If you want to venture out to more exotic materials the E3D v6 will help with that. If you keep melting that plate it is time to upgrade to one made oby zerodameaon - Printing
You can also try out octoprint. I have mine setup to use a Raspberry Pi running octopi but with that you have to slice externally unless you install cura then upload the gcode. I use repetier when directly connected to a PC.by zerodameaon - Reprappers
Remove those connectors and trash them, I have gone through two sets, one came on the board and the other was a "quality" set. Both burned out, so I went with what I know, I got some EC3 RC battery connectors. They are rated to between 40-60A and I no longer have to deal with the thermal expansion causing my heated bed connectors to loosen.by zerodameaon - Reprappers
QuoteSamS 2. They say a RepRap makes 71 db noise?! That's absurd. That's like a vacuum cleaner from a meter away or a very noisy restaurant. Maybe they put the decibel meter in a tin can filled with marbles on the bed. Maybe there's a "chainsaw motor" variant I don't know about, I don't know. 4. It is not the world's most affordable resin printer. You can't just say things like that when a $99by zerodameaon - General
QuoteEvil Monkey Looking at the pictures, the bottom circuit board appears to be a Raspberry Pi B+. It for sure is a Ras Pi B. They talk about it in the video but don't specify which flavor it is. EDIT: Nevermind, I missed the side shots, for sure is a B+ with one of those nano B/G/N dongles. There really should be some kind of locking screw on that, people tend to pick at things and it wont beby zerodameaon - General
You will need to find the pinout of the board or get the part the PSU plugs into, then you can cut up the motherboard and CPU cables like any standard desktop PSU, there are a bunch of guides out there. If you do the second part you could have a hotswappable PSU.by zerodameaon - General
If you have issues with blue painters tape not working then a fine mist of hairspray on the tape does wonders, I have issues getting even ABS to come off after it cools. Be careful with the hairspray and hot electronics as well as find a way to reduce the overs pray from the hairspray as it makes dust stick to everything.by zerodameaon - Printing
