Do you have a picture of the belt path of the X carriage and the Y carriage perhaps?by PDBeal - Printing
QuoteDjDemonD Those ramps boards fixed on 1/16th can be fixed by cutting the traces between the stepper jumpers. Unless those traces are underneath the physical jumper pins, I didn't see any connection between the pins anywhere else on the board. And if those are jumper-ed together, who knows what else doesn't work exactly right. Ah, ha, I see the traces are underneath the jumper pins on thisby PDBeal - General
Are you using a RAMPS V1.4 chinese clone? I ask because I have two RAMPS V1.4 boards, one was a cheap chinese board for $8 that says Robotale on the side of it the other was roughly $45 that has all the details of the RAMPS board in the silk screen. My chinese knockoff $8 board has some different wiring / traces that I've noticed. For example, all the normal pins underneath the stepper driversby PDBeal - General
Quotenebbian I'm gobsmacked that DC42 can do anything other than immediately post, saying that there is a serious safety issue in his firmware, and sort this out within a week. The failure to do so speaks volumes. I am not. You realize this is one guy working on this firmware (of which he's not being paid to develop and charges nothing for use of it) and you fail to realize even companies likeby PDBeal - Duet
I'm wondering, are you DHCP or static IP addressing?by PDBeal - Duet
What firmware are you using, I will note I had the issue with 1.11-1.13 firmware, but can't say I've seen it since upgrading to 1.14 (which was also when I removed the webcam address from model.js)by PDBeal - Duet
Edit your configuration.h file and change the following line to true or false depending what it's currently set to. const bool Z_MIN_ENDSTOP_INVERTING = false; // set to true to invert the logic of the endstop.by PDBeal - General
Stacking the pulleys on top of each other reduces the amount you can travel very so slightly as the closer you get to the pulleys, the belt teeth begin to line up and eventually interlock before you reach the complete end of travel. On smaller machines, its not as noticeable, but I ran into this with my 300x300 coreXY build and redesigned my rear parts. Thingiverse.comby PDBeal - CoreXY Machines
I had this issue on my Duet 0.8.5 when I had the webcam address filled in the model.js file on the sd card. When I deleted the webcam address from the web configuration model.js file, I haven't seen it since.by PDBeal - Duet
Any details to how it has to be connected somewhere?by PDBeal - Duet
I noticed in the DWC, it has an option to show Fan RPM and Fan slider. But, I'm always seeing the RPM as 0, so it has me wondering why. I have a DC turbine blower fan in the PWM Fans 0 slot and the Hotend fan in the PWM Fan 1 location. And during my PLA prints with cooling, I can see the turbine blower turning on and running (I can't tell if its speed changes at all), and I see my hotend fan sby PDBeal - Duet
I don't think you'd be able to use the web interface then and you'd have to use Pronterface or Repetier Host or something similar to talk to it through the USB, and to me it would be questionable if you could start print from the Duet like you can with the web interface or the PanelDue.by PDBeal - Smart_Rap
Issue in using the windows tablet would be your relying upon a wifi network to control the printer. Yes, you'd have the wifi network for the Duet Wifi, but I do like the fact the PanelDue is hardwired to the Duet 0.8.5 board so it works whether I plug Ethernet into it or not, (assuming I traveled somewhere with it or had to relocate it for a time being with no Ethernet)by PDBeal - Smart_Rap
If speed and quality and noise is a goal, I'd highly recommend the Duet 0.8.5 controller. Its been great on my Smartrapcore Alu. I know they do this Duet Wifi board now, but I'm still skeptical on any new design that is still being developed. I think they've frozen the hardware, but have no real installation base beyond the prototype boards to know if it has any issues where as the Duet 0.8.5by PDBeal - Smart_Rap
Any chance you can sketch something in paint or something that shows the belt path and how its connected to the Z plate?by PDBeal - Smart_Rap
I've used Super Lube 51004 Synthetic Oil with PTFE from Amazon. It works really well on my 6mm and 8mm smooth rods. I saw someone recommend the Super Lube stuff, and it does keep the machine quiet and running smooth. I just put a small squirt inside each bearing, roll the bearing around and then put the machine back together.by PDBeal - Printing
I've printed and fitted it onto my Smartrapcore Alu, and it works pretty well. Pictures and details are on thingiverse.com and on Onshape. I can't say for certain, but I've noticed a lot less ringing on my parts since this was added, but that could be due to the fact I lubed everything when I put it all back together. The belts not changing planes does change the forces on the bearings and GT2by PDBeal - Smart_Rap
QuoteVTE 3. I am still not sure, if the firmware currently on the board (I checked using an arduino session, it is 1.09r) can support the cartesian machine. Is there unique firmware for delta, cartesian or coreXY machines? Or does the loaded firmware support all three configurations? Yup, the firmware supports cartesian, delta, and CoreXY Core XZ, Core YZ which is all defined in the config.g fiby PDBeal - Duet
Ok, I think I found someone else with a similar problem. I'm presuming you need to use Y-max and not Y-min as an Endstop. If you change your M574 Y1 S0 to M574 Y2 S0, but set your Y axis back to M569 P1 S1. See if that has any affect on your print. You should be able to print the first layer or two to see if its printing in the non-mirrored state.by PDBeal - Duet
In that case, I was probably wrong with my M569 P1 to S0 change then. But, I re-read your initial question and now not sure I understand what your wanting, you say home (0,0) is in the back left like the cheap ascii picture I'm about to draw. (0,0)--------------------------(0,200) | | | | |by PDBeal - Duet
And if you manually move the Y-axis either with a PanelDue, the Web Interface, or Pronterface in the -Y direction, does it move towards the y-min endstop?by PDBeal - Duet
And what does your M569 P1 command look like in the config.g?by PDBeal - Duet
I believe the Duet 0.6 and the Duet 0.8.5 use the same firmware that dc42 is calling RepRapFirmware, and the Duet uses what dc42 is calling DuetWiFiFirmware. All found in dc42's github area.by PDBeal - Duet
I presume your Y-min endstop is in the left back corner also? What does your config.g file have for the M574?by PDBeal - Duet
In your config.g file you should have a section similar to the following: ; Axis and motor configuration M569 P0 S0; ; (X axis) Drive 0 goes reverse (change to S1 to reverse it) M569 P1 S1; ; (Y axis) Drive 1 goes forwards M569 P2 S1; ; (Z axis) Drive 2 goes forwards M569 P3 S1; ; (Extruder 0) Drive 3 goes forwards M569 P4 S1; ; (Extruder 1) Drive 4 goes forwardsby PDBeal - Duet
I have downloaded that firmware. I'll give it a shot. Although, I've got past my starting issue, but only if I skip G29. Homing seems to work with my offset and such, but as soon as it does a G29, it screws up the first layer and puts it way too close. At least its progress on it being functional now though.by PDBeal - Smart_Rap
QuoteDjDemonD I'm using marlin RC bugfix dated 18-06-16 and it works, no complaints on the smartrapcore, I have tried a few later bugfix verisons and had a few compiler issues. Prior to this the only version that worked was RC3. If you want a copy I'll share it when I get home this afternoon. Does that version have the Z_RAISE_PROBE_DEPLOY_STOW and Z_RAISE_BETWEEN_PROBINGS settings? I'd also loby PDBeal - Smart_Rap
I downloaded the RCBugFix one, and I've noticed they're now assuming your Z-Probe is on a sled that requires you move the Z axis away before probing. This sounds good for some of these lead screw z axis, but with the Smartrapcore the probe is fixed, doesn't need moving, and my Z axis is on the floor until I start to home it. The change is making the Z axis move before homing X and Y and withoutby PDBeal - Smart_Rap
I'm already using a Duet on my Smartrapcore ALU kit, but I've rebuilt my older Smartrap Mini into another Smartrapcore that just uses a few 6mm rods with an 8mm Y axis and I've still got the Mega/Ramps setup from the kit. Not really interested in another Duet at this moment, although I would when I build a Delta printer.by PDBeal - Smart_Rap
I posted this over in the CoreXY section, but has anyone tried non-Marlin firmware on the Mega/Ramps setup for the SmartrapCore ALU? It bugs me that Marlin's last release is old, and I've had bad luck with the RC canidates not being usable, and Repetier firmware has issues trying to use Z-Probe and Z-min for homing and auto bed leveling. My primary machine is running the Duet 0.8.5 with dc42 fiby PDBeal - Smart_Rap
