I got this compiling on arduino13_linux2 for an atmega328. I had to switch back to the arduino provided functions instead of the optimized ones but it looks like the 328 will work great! Binary sketch size: 15552 bytes (of a 30720 byte maximum) (yay!)by mellery - RepRap Host
Could someone upload the jar of the new version please?by mellery - RepRap Host
I'm still missing something... I only have one jar file being created using an up to date svn. Are there instructions anywhere? Where is the multimode host jar supposed to be? the jar thats created in the jar directory is the old one. Thanks for the helpby mellery - RepRap Host
No, I'm not sure how to tell? I just checked out and did the commands I posted aboutby mellery - RepRap Host
thanks that workaround worked! I did setup-reprap-host-dev-environment.sh and then ~/projects/reprap/Reprap$ ant run but the java app doesn't look like the multimode host from the blog post, did I run the wrong commands? Thanks againby mellery - RepRap Host
I get about 100 org.jdesktop.layout.GroupLayout errors, how did you fix it? I have java 1.5 installed. Thanksby mellery - RepRap Host
Chris Meighan wrote it, I've used it with pretty good results.by mellery - RepRap Host
Does this describe your problem, or does your problem not happen with an arduino? I filed that bug in march, but if its fixed in Intrepid I'll update it with that info.by mellery - Controllers
It's an old cheapo scope, I'ld like to start with telling the scope to point at jupiter (or whatever), if theres shaking while following it i'll add gears. When I get a new scope my goals to spend the money on the optics, and build tracking and imaging myself. It's just a spare parts project now, to get the basics of it working.by mellery - Controllers

are you using the gcode firmware? if thats the case you need to send it gcode. the host might be sending something else (i've never used it). You might need some different arduino firmwareby mellery - RepRap Host
could we slice one up into 1/8 inch slices and then get the finer detail with a drill?by mellery - General
wow, aoi is tricky to use... I'm pretty sure it didn't scale right, but it kind of looks like its supposed to except it looks like its missing the arm part. Size: Height 1.0 cm Width 3.6 cm Depth 11.7 cm getting this one part printed with them would cost $106.25! oh well...by mellery - General
I have an account with them. I tried uploading all the parts for an extruder, but they are treating stl units as meters and all the parts fail saying they are too largeby mellery - General
was just about to post this :-) Is there anything that can be made thats useful for reprap parts out of this? Maybe we could design some different things for people to submit?by mellery - General
where do you see what place its in?by mellery - General
I'm trying to track down a problem with drawing arcs (g02 and g03) with the 1.3 version of the firmware. It looks like the code is skipping some arcs, I've attached a picture that shows the problem. Can someone running the 1.3 firmware try running the attached gcode to see if they have similar results? Thanksby mellery - RepRap Host
Doesn't the L927 decide if its a half step or not based on the jumper? If your board is set to do half steps, your STEPS_PER_INCH would be double what it would be if your board was doing whole stepsby mellery - RepRap Host
try sending different feedrate values with your commands, I've been having feedrate problems too with 1.3, but I haven't had time to troubleshoot the code. I don't think the initial feedrate is set, and I don't think a value is remember for later instructions. Try G01 X-.5 F3, and then G01 X.5 F6 and see if its any faster.by mellery - RepRap Host
know any stepper drivers that can do 3-4 amps then?by mellery - Controllers
From the wiki "The L298 is rated for 2A per coil, so if your stepper motor drives more than that, you should adjust the chopper so that it delivers less current than that. " "Bipolar - Parallel This configuration offers higher performance. It has lower impedance, and lower resistance. That means you can push more electrons through, at a faster rate. That basically means it will operate much beby mellery - Controllers
I had problems with gcc-avr or avr-libc versions that ship with hardy heron see Can you try calling strtod() and atof() on your arduino batmark and see if it works? It could also be compiler options adruino 011 uses, I'm still using 010.by mellery - RepRap Host
I'll be in the area this weekend if theres another meeting, I'm in blacksburg, va so I've never been around when theres a meeting. But I've got a working repstrap that i'm making boards with, probably going to add an extruder soon.by mellery - Baltimore/Wash. DC (and environs) RUG
Been away for a while, updated my firmware from 1.0 to 1.3, nice to see all the improvements on it! The feedrate and arcs are especially nice, along with some error checking i wont have to code now. I've been milling boards, and have started milling 3d objects out of plant Styrofoam (milled out a chess rook), will test this new code out, now that I have some free time again. Some other thingby mellery - RepRap Host
sounds good! I get this when trying to run it though Locking assertion failure. Backtrace: #0 /usr/lib/libxcb-xlib.so.0 [0x8d404767] #1 /usr/lib/libxcb-xlib.so.0(xcb_xlib_unlock+0x31) [0x8d4048b1] #2 /usr/lib/libX11.so.6(_XReply+0xfd) [0x8caf31bd] #3 /usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-sun-1.5.0.15/jre/lib/i386/xawt/libmawt.so [0x8cbe5dce] #4 /usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-sun-1.5.0.15/jre/lib/i386/xawt/libmawt.sby mellery - RepRap Host
Using the libraries with Ubuntu Hardy Heron I've found the atof call in the gcode string pharsing function started causing the arduino to reset. I wrote my own replacement (uses less code) instead of tracking down which version causes the problem. sounds related, would be worth troubleshooting i think.by mellery - RepRap Host
> Will it be able to handle every gcode known to > man? hell no. well my newest version comes pretty close, though i updated to hardy and that did bad things to java and gcc-avr... gotta fix that firstby mellery - RepRap Host
are i/o pins on the arduino pulled high or low internally? I don't have limit switches on my mill yet...by mellery - RepRap Host
