About a year and a half ago I started working on a Darwin. I got all the parts except the extruder then I got really busy and no longer had time to work on it. As a result I have had the following sitting in my basement for close to a year: Mostly assembled frame for Darwin with almost all parts 3D printed with the exception of the corner blocks which are made of plastic. Hi, I'm in kind of a bad spot. I bought and assembled a USBTinyISP programmer to burn the bootloaders to my chips but it's completely fried, I must have messed something up while assembling it. Anyway, if anyone has an assembled USBTiny or an AVR-ISP I would be much obliged if you would allow me to borrow it to burn my bootloaders. I am more than willing to pay the fee to mail it to and from mby carpenma - Controllers
If you have already programmed your microcontrollers and don't forsee needing your programmer in the future I would love to buy it from you. Closer to southeast Michigan the better. Thank you very much! -Mattby carpenma - Wanted
I have a Gen 3 set of electronics using a USBTinyISP on Ubuntu Jaunty. Each time I try to burn though I get the following error: "avrdude: initialization failed rc=1" I have done all the sanguino modifications to the arduino software. If I try running avrdude from the terminal it returns that the device signiture is nothing. The boards are receiving power from the TinyISP and I've tried provby carpenma - Controllers
Hi, I'm very near finishing my Reprap and am going to use the frostruder as my support extruder. I know all the kinks haven't been worked out yet but that's beside the point. I was wondering if it would be hazerdous to your health to consume the frosting that has been printed? It's going through another extruder so the only problem would be its contact with the deposited ABS. Opinions please?by carpenma - General
well, any of you guys finished yours yet? I think I'm just going to make the laser cut parts on a CNC assuming all goes well... -Mattby carpenma - Michigan RepRap User Group
There's nothin. I've been lookin forever. I think the best bet is just a repstrap. -Mattby carpenma - For Sale

Hey, when u get it working you think u could find it in your heart to print me a set? -Mattby carpenma - Michigan RepRap User Group
Appears to be running fine on my Vista laptop, no reprap attatched at the moment though. -Mattby carpenma - RepRap Host
id be happy to test your standalone on Vista for you. I'll go download it right now in fact... Thanks again Sid! -Mattby carpenma - RepRap Host
Hi, I got my live DVD working (see my other thread). Now I have another question related to the host program. When I boot to the disk all I get is a kubuntu screen with options to install and such. I already have the most recent version of Ubuntu installed as a dual boot on my computer using wubi. Should I uninstall the current version and install Kubuntu? And if I do, will it make the liveby carpenma - RepRap Host
"at least if you're not using that damned vista inbuild burning tool" ahem, opps. That would do it. Didn't know you had to actually tell it to make it bootable. Thanks again for your continued help!by carpenma - RepRap Host
O.K, so i went in and changed the boot order so the CD is first. But when the computer starts it just shows the flashing DOS cursor for a second tan asks what operating system I want to boot to (Vista or Ubuntu) i've tried both and nothing happens. I've even tried pressing F10 to get to the boot menu and tell it directly to boot to the CD. Help! -Mattby carpenma - RepRap Host
thanks, i knew there was something really simple I was missing... -Mattby carpenma - RepRap Host
A friend of mine and myself are just about to get started. -Mattby carpenma - Michigan RepRap User Group
O.K maybe im just missing something really obvious, but I just downloaded the Live DVD image and burned it to a disk. Now that all the files from the download are there I dont know what to do next. The only thing i can find that acctually runs is the kubuntu installer. I already have ubuntu rinning as a secondary OS on my comp, should i run it in that? Thanks for your help. -Mattby carpenma - RepRap Host
If you've still got it count me in! I'm just over the border in Mich. If you already sold it off, any chance you'll be making another set? Many thanks and good luck! -Mattby carpenma - For Sale

This may seem like a weird question but, how much would say, a solid 1 inch cube weigh when printed from different materials? Thanks for your continued answerage.by carpenma - General
Hm, i was sure that I saw a pellet form. I can't seem to find it now... I'll let you know if I come across it.by carpenma - Plastic Extruder Working Group
Thanks, that's make it a lot easier for me to get the parts made.by carpenma - General
Hey, assuming that I had access to a CNC mill, could I fab my parts from chunks of plastic with that? Thanksby carpenma - General
The title says it all, what material do you print with? Also, is it in a string (or coil) or is it in pellet form? I'm asking this because on bits from bytes they offer coiled material as a print substance, but on the store they sell pellets or powder or something like that.
