Hello everyone. I am using a CR-10, unmodified except dual Z and MKS Sbase 1.3. The CR-10 came with a 128x64 lcd (pic attached). The thing is, it has only one plug (EXP3) which worked perfectly with the Melzi board which came with the CR-10. How do I use it with the MKS Sbase 1.3? Most of the things I could find online are of 2 plugs (EXP 1 and EXP 2). Thanks.by scarecrow2k6 - Controllers
After giving it some thought it seems like I will get more headaches dealing with parts than to actually build the machine. @the_digital_dentist, what size of extrusions did you use for your 300x300 build? @Origamib, I will listen to you and go lower on the build volume. I will definitely do some research on the heater you mentioned and also the power supply. Thanks!by scarecrow2k6 - CoreXY Machines
Thanks a lot everyone for your replies, what you have pointed out so far, I am already learning a lot. Ok so I have got more questions based on what you guys have pointed out. I should have also mentioned that I am salvaging most of the electronics and some other parts like smooth rods, bearings etc from my old Prusa i3. @ o_lampe- I did a quick search and it seems like the V-Slot would be the bby scarecrow2k6 - CoreXY Machines
Hello guys, I have never used a CoreXY setup before, however I have put together Prusa i3 and a Delta kits. I am planning on building a new machine using Tech2C's Hypercube template and I would really appreciate if someone could answer couple of my questions. 1. To get a 400x400x300 build, what size of extrusions would I need to buy for both the printer and the bed? Please mention them in detailby scarecrow2k6 - CoreXY Machines
Hi, thanks a lot for your response. I am from the US, MA to be specific. Sorry which section did you post your reply to? A link would be nice. Btw, I went to your Miscsolutions website and looked around. I would really appreciate if you send me a direct link to the parts, mostly extrusions and the 3d models of the plastic parts that I might need. It doesn't have to be exactly 400x400 but somethinby scarecrow2k6 - Delta Machines
Hello everyone. I have a Micromake D1 delta printer and would like to make a bigger Delta (Bed size size 400 x 400) by salvaging almost everything from the D1. I know that I would need bigger aluminum extrusion, diagonal rods and the slots that connect the extrusions. Can someone please give me a link where I can download 3d models of the bigger slots? Hello everyone. I have not touched my printer for a month and a half and I forgot a lot of things about the Smoothie fw, I am having a weird issue when I give the G32 command. When G32 command is issued, the nozzle comes down at the center then probes and then moves far from the bed (near tower) to probe another point and so on. I have tried reducing the "leveling-strategy.delta-calibration.radiuby scarecrow2k6 - Delta Machines
Hello guys, recently I got a MKS SBASE 1.3 board because of its power. The board works as far as I know but I am facing a strange behavior that left me confused. I am running a Delta setup (Micromake D1) with SBASE controller. If I try to print with Repetier Host or Ponterface or Matterslice, the printer attempts to print but freezes on touching the bed to print, however, printing with Simplify3Dby scarecrow2k6 - General
Hi thanks for your reply. The reason I assigned gamma_min_endstop to a pin is to get auto bed leveling. I have a limit switch on the effector and it gets triggered when the nozzle touches the bed. Or am I doing it wrong?by scarecrow2k6 - Controllers
Hello everyone, I just received my MKS SBASE v1.3 board and it looks promising so far. I am trying to setup my Delta with the board, I have a Micromake D1 printer, it has XYZ endstops on top and the z_probe with the effector. I have couple of questions regarding Smoothieware. 1. I have read that I have to put firmware.bin and config.txt in root of the SD and after power off/on, the firmware.binby scarecrow2k6 - Controllers
I played with the Z_MAX_POS and it you look at my config.h, it is set to MANUAL_Z_HOME_POS which after reading your post I set to 350 mm. The thing is, that only places the nozzle to a position after the homing is done. It does not affect the printable height limit though.by scarecrow2k6 - Delta Machines
Hello everyone. I am quite new to Delta printers and Marlin in general, I have been using Repetier fw for sometime because it came with the printer (Micromake D1). I thought of giving Marlin a shot and now I am having a weird issue, in contrast to Repetier fw, Marlin does not have "Z_MAX_LENGTH" or even X or Y MAX_LENGHT. So there is no way I can set a limit to how far the nozzle should go and juby scarecrow2k6 - Delta Machines
Hello everyone, I am having a weird issue. Whenever I setup my hotend to heat up let's just say 230C, it does 227.4 C. Thiswould not have been a problem if it was just for printing but I am having issues starting my print because the printer won't start unless it reaches that temp. Any ideas guys?by scarecrow2k6 - Delta Machines
Hi everyone, I recently got this delta printer (Micromake D1). It is much better than the i3 had before but it is way too complicated in terms of understanding settings and what not. I am having a weird problem, I have attached a photo. I printed a tube like structure and it seems like there is a lot of layer shifting going on or might be something else, I don't know. Can someone please tell me hby scarecrow2k6 - Delta Machines
Please do something about the hotend cooling fan wire. It will get burned soon if it gets in the way of the hotend.by scarecrow2k6 - Delta Machines
Hello everyone, I recently bought a Micromake D1 printer. It is well built but the software support is not that great. The printer comes with auto bed leveling but I don't think it is working. I was wondering if there is a way I can manually work on the bed leveling. There are codes like G32 and M557 etc. I have no idea how to use them effectively. I would really appreciate if someone could tellby scarecrow2k6 - Delta Machines
Quotefrankvdh Hi, See this thread for information about calibrating Delta printers Thanks! Will definitely check that out.by scarecrow2k6 - General
Thanks a lot Nebbian! Changing the center in Mattercontrol to 0 allowed me to use the bed leveling feature. No I am not running any G32 (I don't know how to use it) in my Gcode. However, I am using Mattrcontrol's manual bed leveling feature. I am not sure whether it is actually working or not, I say this because I used the XYZ plate test. It was a bit better than the one in the photo but still noby scarecrow2k6 - General
Hello everyone, I recently bought a Micromake D1 (Delta) printer. It is quite inexpensive and almost looks like a finished product. However there are certain things that are quite confusing to me. It came with automatic bed leveling (Z-probing?) but I don't really think it works that well or at all. Micromake ships their printer with their custom built Cura which let's me do the bed leveling. Hi Dust, thanks for your reply. Yea I figured that it is a mega2560 but I don't know where I can find the fw or the .ino file. I have a .hex file but I guess that would not be any good for editing.by scarecrow2k6 - General

Hello everyone. Recently I bought a Micromake D1 kit. I believe it is a delta printer, my question is how do I edit the firmware? I used to edit the fw of my Prusa i3 with Arduino software. For example if I wanted to set the PID settings or E-Step, I would open the Ino file and edit the Configuration.h file. The Prusa i3 has a RAMPS board where as the MM D1 has this (green check): . I don't think there is any jam going on. The reason I say that because when at a certain layer the nozzle stops letting out plastic, if I stop printing and if I manually extrude plastic, it extrudes. Please let me know what test you were suggesting in your last answer, thanks.by scarecrow2k6 - General
I am very confused about what is going on. I checked everything but I can't seem to figure out what is the problem. My Prusa i3 (Makerfarm) starts with a really good print but after reaching a certain amount of height, the nozzle has difficulty spitting out plastic. Any suggestions guys? Thanks.by scarecrow2k6 - General
Quotethe_digital_dentist Having designed and built two printers with a 12" square bed moving in the Y axis I would not recommend doing it. If you want larger size, look at one of the designs where the bed moves in the Z axis. There are multiple problems with moving a large bed in the Y axis: Too much moving mass requires that you reduce acceleration which slows down printing, or spend a lotby scarecrow2k6 - General

Hello guys, I currently have the 8" Makerfarm (Rev 1) and I am planning to build a bigger i3, salvaging parts from the Makerfarm. I really like how the gMax 1.5XT+ and the Folgertech 2020 i3 frame looks with the aluminum extrusions. Here are some of my questions: 1. Where can I buy the aluminum extrusions locally (in MA) or online for a good price? 2. What size the aluminum parts would have toby scarecrow2k6 - General
