Hi, I am getting a new 3d printer (I had a prusa mendel) and it takes 1.75mm ABS. Is there any chance of getting it made at this thickness? I could potentially print you a sample and send it back to you. I want my 3d printer to be as experimental as possible so would love to encorporate this into some of my designs. We are making 3d printed electric guitars at work so it could come in handy tby owbridmark - Australia, Sydney RUG
Hi, I am relisting my 3d printer at a far cheaper price. The 3d printer cost me more than this in total costs for parts. See below:by owbridmark - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Hi Jono, If you want a good quality print you can try out One.61 Ltd. They probably won't print as cheap as a reprap etc but will provide a quick turn around and can also build out of stronger materials etc. My reprap is currently being sold at the moment - otherwise I would probably print you whatever you wanted for just the cost of the filament. Here is there website: And if you are intereby owbridmark - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Hi Everyone, I am selling my Reprap Prusa on Trademe. Please see below if interested and leave a comment on the auction page if any questions. Many thanks, Markby owbridmark - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Hi Everyone, I am selling my Reprap. Any one interested please see attached URL: It will be sad to see it go as I had a lot of fun assembling it all. Many thanks, Markby owbridmark - For Sale
Hi Everyone, I have a prusa mendel reprap. All of the parts are fully assembled and ready to go. I gave up a while back trying to install the software etc to make it run. (the furthest I got was getting all axis to move in whichever direction i desired). I never managed to get the extruder extruding but I think I know why that was. My question is: I am currently in invercargill and would likeby owbridmark - Sanguino(lolu)
Thanks Dust, I have zinc nuts so I might change them out. It's good to hear everyones opinions because sometimes issues like this can be combinations of things causing the problem. I had it working last night for a little bit and it was going fine. Then I fiddled with something in my firmware... I think I might try re-installing it to revert back to the default settings and work my way from theby owbridmark - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Cheers for the tip. Do you think if I removed the threaded rods and ran a die down it this might help also? Or do you not think it is worth it?by owbridmark - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Thanks champ, I'll try fix it by checking everything is level/parallel 1st and if I can't fix it that way I will try the tuning of the variable resistor.by owbridmark - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Thanks for the quick reply. I have worked out how to turn my motors around just fine. I have the white molex connectors but just turned power off, pulled the crimps out and flipped them around the other way and worked fine. My right threaded rod oscillates a bit. The z motors seem to skip sometimes though. I think they seem to be working down the bottom better but it is hard to tell. I have notby owbridmark - New Zealand RepRap User Group
I have just built a Prusa and have just managed to get it connected. So yes I am a noob... However: - I found it any easy build. - There are lots of documents (the most useful i found was the Prusa Visual Instructions) - Lots of people have built these which is great for support. - I have built mine for sub $500 NZ. (I got the plastic parts for free though) I would highly recommend buildingby owbridmark - New Zealand RepRap User Group
I have got my prusa connected and my motors moving after a lot of hard work and research! Thanks to everyone wo has helped me out. The only thing that is needed to do is wire my extruder/thermistor. My motors are also moving the opposite way to what they should be so I may have to re wire them. Also my Z axis is jittering a bit as it moves up and down. I am not sure if it is because it is notby owbridmark - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Thanks, I went on IRC to find help and a fellow NZer helped me out. If you are stuck with anything try chatting with someone on there. The link is below: Just use any nickname and type reprap in channels.by owbridmark - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Thanks Guys, I have my power supply up and running now. I have my software installed and can move my motors!!! If anyone needs any help feel free to contact me as I would love to help with what I do know. I am obviously still a newbie with repraps and the electronics but can help with most other things. I have experience with commercial prototypers so I do know where most problems would occur.by owbridmark - New Zealand RepRap User Group

Hi Dust, This sounds like a simple way of connecting my power supply. I am a little confused however (mainly because I am a retard when it comes to electronics). Allow me to attempt to clarify a few points: I have a screw terminal (see attached). This screw terminal is currently connected to my Sanguinololu board. It has two holes. One positive the other negative. Which two wires do I put inby owbridmark - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Hi Everyone, I have no idea what I am doing. I have built my machine (Prusa) and now want to be able to connect it and run it via my laptop. I have installed the FTDI drivers from the FTDI website as this is what my supplier of my Sanguinololu has told me to do. When I plug in my Sanguinololu nothing shows up. I have also installed Python and have no idea how to run it or what I'm even supposedby owbridmark - New Zealand RepRap User Group
OK, So I have my power supply now and am wanting to wire it up over the weekend. My only problem is I don't know how. I have read the wiki page: And am still a little bit worried. The electronics scare me a little as I don't know what I am doing. I have had complete confidence in what I have been doing up until now. Does any one have/ know of a tutorial or video I can watch to help me wire myby owbridmark - New Zealand RepRap User Group

I bought these belts/pulleys: I havn't tried buiding anything with them yet as I am still finishing off the machine but they appear to run smoothly manually. They arrived super quick and so I would recommend.by owbridmark - Reprappers
Thanks NelsonRap, I ended up getting one of these from the supplier you recommended: Is this one you have used before? Do you think this was an ok choice?by owbridmark - New Zealand RepRap User Group
If I use a standard PC power supply is there any specifications I need to watch out for? I have heard it should be at least 300W? Thanks for your help guys!by owbridmark - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Hi Guys, I have so far assembled together all of my hardware and basically need to install the electronics. I have a sanguinololu board and everything except for a power supply. Can some one please tell me what would be acceptable to use and what I need to know whe choosing one? I have an old Vaccum Cleaner Charger here that says output 12v 300mA. Would this be ok? The stratasys Vantage SE machines use a soluble support that is in a spool of filament form and is then extruded at around 215 C. It is then disolved in hot soapy water at around 70 C. Not too sure what it is made of however. Perhaps we could find out and make our own of this?by owbridmark - Plastic Extruder Working Group
I can agree that gelatine can be a difficult material to work with. However, once you know the correct gelatine to water ratios and melting temp it can be controlled very well. I can't see how it is not working or too complicated. It is able to be built into 3d form and hold it's shape and this has already been proven. It is also only a two part mix which is fairly simple I would have thought. Mby owbridmark - General
I chose a prusa mendel as it was the most common I could find and seemed to be the most easily accessible in terms of both sourcing parts and getting advice. The visual manual played a key part in me choosing the Prusa. Being able to visualise how something is put together makes you want to build it some how. When I was first looking I didnt really want to build one. I was going to buy a kit. Bby owbridmark - General
No I don't have any graphite oxide lying around but I do have a spare lightscribe DVD writer on my laptop. I could perhaps have a play around if I could get hold of some graphite oxide. It does appear expensive but I bet any electronics will only use a fraction of the quantities they are selling there. The only way to know is to try it I guess.by owbridmark - General
You make a few very good points. I remember that over time it dired out and went very strong. It may be possible to mix it at a higher quantity of gelatine to water so you can dry it fast enough for it to turn hard. Our samples were very rigid in the end - not what you would expect from gelatine. In the end they were going reasonably birttle. They also adhered well to very smooth surfaces. We haby owbridmark - General
Hi, Me and the rest of my group from university experimented with gelatine as a build material. It dissolves in warm water and I think would potentially make a great support material. Please see the attached link for examples of the material we experimented with and our Lego repstrap: Any questions please email me as I would love to develop a way of getting this material to be useable as a suby owbridmark - General
