Just got it mechanically done with all electronics running. All i have left is to tidy up and install an extruder. This build is VERY sturdy, unlike my 2 i2s I have. I did some speed test and it can FLY... Dunno if the extruder will be able to keep up with that speed. What is the max speeds everyone is printing at successfully?by Shanegt - General Mendel Topics
So i had an old vinyl cutter that bit the dust. I salvaged belts and pulleys and electronics from it. I want to use the belt from the x axis of it on my Yaxis on my new MakerSlide Large mendal max. I have a bracket made for the idler/tensioner bracket i got from the cutter, but the pull to drive the belt is wide, 15mm wide. I have yet to find a GT2 pulley that would fit on a Nema motor to drivby Shanegt - Mechanics
nvm, got it working. Was endstop issues and invert z axis.by Shanegt - Repetier
Y axis moves and stops no problem. But x and z go nutz.. I have a Prusa i2, what printer type do i select. I have it on Cartesian, is this right?by Shanegt - Repetier
So, when i change my nozzle from .5 defualt to .35 which i have is where the time increases when doing infilling layers and it now takes about 12 with 4 threads running, still have narrowed down the setting that is crashing it..by Shanegt - Slic3r
So, I went back to default settings, took 4 minutes to slice that STL, changing my settings back one by one right now to see where the hang up is. Ill report back.by Shanegt - Slic3r
ok, ill check my slicer settings.. I have tried it on 2 different pcs, doing the same thing.by Shanegt - Slic3r
What does slicer use the most, I want to improve slicing time, but i am not sure if the GPU would be doing the work or CPU. My CPU only uses 30-35% when slicing, and 600 ish mb of memory(have 16gb). I am just wondering because some of my plates i made sit there for 1-2 hours and i get impaitient. If i put the parts there by them selves, they slice in ~10 minutes. Ill attach an example, see ifby Shanegt - Slic3r
Welp, sent the motors back to the ebay distributor, he took them back, full refund, only out 10 bucks. Will be ordering lulbotz motors for 13 bucks each prewired(cant go wrong there) when the refund goes through. Thanks for the help, i am sure ill be back.by Shanegt - RAMPS Electronics
well that was short lived.. Extruder goes back and forth when i extruded 5mm. then all of the other motors still do the humming noise and wont move. begining to think i have a batch of bad motors...by Shanegt - RAMPS Electronics
Found the issue, I had them hooked up from one side the coil to another. It should have been from one coil to center tap. Motors humming along nowby Shanegt - RAMPS Electronics
I have tried adjusting the tripot, I have gone well over halfway. now only have one motor plugged in , since all 5 are doing the same thing. I am going to tinker more with it tommorow. If i run the test program with a 100 delay in it, it will step one direction, then go to the other direction. When running Marlin, if i increase or decrease it just vibrates and moves very small and iradic.by Shanegt - RAMPS Electronics
Hi all, I got these nema 17 motors, found that they are 6 wire Japan Servo Company motors. It is 3 wires per coil with centertap. From my understanding, The setup would work Bipolar if i just ignore the centertap. The problem I am running into is that when I load the test software, the motors just vibrate. If i put a delay in there, it will move maybe one step, then switch direction. I haveby Shanegt - RAMPS Electronics
