I use simplify 3D and I have turned on the fan in the software and the fan is also on 255 when I check on the lcd display, I will check with pronterface tonight Thanks/Joarby Joar107 - Delta Machines
Hello, I just bought the FLSUN and want to add a cooling fan, I have connected it next to the hotend where it is marked fan but i doenst work, do I have to change something in the firmware? /Joarby Joar107 - Delta Machines
This so nice uppdates that just rooling out! Big thanks. I have not read about web cam inegration, is there a thread where i can catch up? /Joarby Joar107 - Duet
Filament out would be great but even better would be a rotatable sensor that could feel if the extruded length was correct.by Joar107 - Ormerod
I am using Team viewer, but I have computer @ work that I can connect to off course... And also a cheap d-link camera and the app mydlink for visual control. This setup allows me to start a print in the evening from home and enjoy it in the morning at the office.by Joar107 - Ormerod

I am now running with the SSR-25DA and 220V 500W heated bed, it is amazing, thanks all for the help. /Joarby Joar107 - Ormerod
Quotedmould Why not just put a delay in your tool change G-code? I'm not sure what the max value it can take, you will need a parameter of 60000 (G4 P60000) for a 1 minute delay. If it won't take that large a value, stick a few shorter delays one after the other. You can also move the head to a wipe point in your tool change code. Dave I want the printer to print during this time, maybe I shby Joar107 - Ormerod
Yes but I only have ossing for 1 min so my idea is to wipe it of after that is cold enough 5 mm up so the ossing stops. If I can maintain printing temp i can have faster printing. Would it be possible to have that in the firmware so you can write custom code based on time after tool change.by Joar107 - Ormerod
I am using a home made water cooled nozzel system and I am doing 5 mm retrac, so the ossing I have is only the filament left in the heater block. I am only going to xy change tool wait for temp for the new tool and then starts printing again, I am using the same standby temp as printing temp. What I want to do is 30 sec after toolchange and 60 sec after toolchange i want to ad custom gcode to wipby Joar107 - Ormerod
Hi all and mostly dc42 I have a four nozzle set up and I have minor ossing problem that appear 1 min after nozzle change and then stops. Would it be possible to write custom g code xx time after nozzle change? If possible I could move the head to a wipe of point and get rid of the osse Slicer has an option for custom g code on layer change but layers can have a long duration. /Joarby Joar107 - Ormerod
Quotedc42 Don't put heatsinks on the stepper drivers, they are not effective because the driver chips are designed to be cooled via the PCB. Position the fan to blow air over both sides of the PCB, along the line of driver chips. I would never use a mechanical relay to switch a mains voltage heated bed. DC-AC SSRs are inexpensive, reliable, don't generate interference, don't need flyback diodes,by Joar107 - Ormerod
Quotedmould QuoteJoar107 The flyback diod puzzles me could you explain a little bit more. Thanks /Joar When voltage is removed from an electromagnet (such as the coil of a relay), the sudden drop in magnetic field will induce a very high voltage across the coil. This can blow a semiconductor such as the switching FET on the Duet. The induced voltage is however of the opposite polarity to the oby Joar107 - Ormerod
QuoteTreito Hello, I use motors with 34mm depth and 1.5A for my Ormerod 2. I am at the office right now, but if you are interested I can provide a datasheet within the next 8-10 hours. These motors are very common at ebay and Aliexpress ans so the price is less then 15€. The original motors are hard to get so I decided to use these ones. I was astonished that they can operate with 1.5A. I testedby Joar107 - Ormerod
Quotedmould QuoteJoar107 When you run the bed on AC main do you use the 12V that you normaly connet to the heated bed to run a relay as this one link ? And the the thermistor is connected as usually of course? /Joar No, you don't need a timer relay - any relay with a 12V coil and mains rated N.O. contacts can be used - connect the coil to the bed heater output of the Duet (e.g. ). Don't forgetby Joar107 - Ormerod
I will mount both cards with dual fans so it should be okay, is there a good heat zink that i could use on the drivers as well? On the new duex4 the screw terminal is removed, only pins. What was your main goal when switching to 24V was is the advantage? When you run the bed on AC main do you use the 12V that you normaly connet to the heated bed to run a relay as this one link ? Hi dc42, well my ormerod is not that ormerodish anymore, and I have problem with step missing because of the interia of the design, the motors I linked in my previous post is 1.5 amp so i guess that would be okay and I should run them on 1.275 amp? On the Duex 4 there is only one set of pins for the heater, or am I wrong? What cable area is ok for 3,33 amp and 1.2m (it will be up 70 C as well). Iby Joar107 - Ormerod
Hi I have some motor and wirer questions. I need to replace x and y motors to stronger motors are they possible to run on the duet without problem with over heating? I also need to make my cables for my heater cartridge longer about 1400 mm in total I am using 40W 12V, what size of wire should I use 0,75mm2 or 1mm2. I am using Duet V0.8.5 and Duex4 V0.2 and the Duex has pins instead of screw termby Joar107 - Ormerod

Quotecozmicray The Kraken design? The DGlass3D design? Your design? So with Kraken having 4 nozzles does this mean you are going to add 2 more? or do a "Kraken" 4 nozzle design with DGlass3D nozzles? Drilling a 2mm hole in what material? drill smaller and polish out? Is 2mm for 1.75mm filament? Why not just mount 4 DGlass3D hot ends on a plate with minimum distance between or enough room fby Joar107 - Mechanics
Quotecozmicray Kraken has 4 extruders so you are going to add 2 more extruders Whole lot of squirtin going on here[/quote Do you understand the design?by Joar107 - Mechanics
I would like to combine dglass3D hotend with kraken. I am not an expert in hotends and would appreciate some comments and what i need to think about. One of the problems is that it is really hard to drill a long 2mm hole and get a nice surface, I might be better of using some 4 mm ptfe tube and just have 20 mm 2 mm hole? I will start to do a trial with just 2 nozzles and run it on my ormerod.by Joar107 - Mechanics
Thanks for all the answears, I will go up with the current a little with nema 17 and ad heatsink and a fan to the drivers. Thanks again/Joarby Joar107 - Ormerod
Thanks DasBasti Most of the nema 23 motors on ebay is marked 2.5A and the nema 17 1,7A does this mean that the setting should be M906 X1700 Y1700 Z800 E800 for one of this nema 17? Or can i run a Nema 23 marked 2.5 A on M906 X2000 Y2000 Z800 E800. /Joarby Joar107 - Ormerod
Hi is it someone how knows if it is possible to replace the nema 17 motors for x and y with nema 23. And if I do so would that help with skipping steps when I try to print faster? /Joarby Joar107 - Ormerod
