Congrats on the work. Looking forward to more advances!by owism8 - Wire and Thread Embedded Extrusion
I look forward to any developments on Extruder tips. Is there a specific thread for this? Thanks!by owism8 - General
So I just asked the company what quantity I need to match the $45 for all four parts. They said if I order 200 sets of extruder parts, then they will give that price. SO i might just do this in August and try to sell off 199 of them. Thatll require me to put $9,000 down and thats more than what i have in my bank account sadly. Anywho. there you go. What machinery would i need to purchasby owism8 - General
Yeah, This user: CdnReprap , he is selling parts for the extruder at a good price. Brnrd also recommended him. Im getting all the parts for 40$.by owism8 - General
Hello all, Just wanted to share my experience of getting a quote for parts for the extruder tip shown here: Attached is the quote file for different quantities VERY Expensive. I am very grateful for this community to provide me with cheaper parts. I hope we can continue to help each other. Greed usually ruins this cooperation...by owism8 - General
Yeah that was the main reason why I dont want a prusa because of that hanging z axis. kinda unreliable by logical understanding of gravity it'll fail quick... Not industrial enough. Awesome. Yeah I think prusa needs that Edit. Some people have issues with the hanging couple between the rod and the motors. I duno if others have also? The wiki needs some updating on that. Thanks again. Can someby owism8 - General
interesting fix. Is it working currently? I might as well give it a shot i suppose since its already destroyed. I asked techzone to send me a new tip.. Im also trying to get my hands on Sweet.by owism8 - Huxley
Hello All, I am thinking of doing the following. I want to take the huxley parts, extend the rods, and basically go in reverse back to a mendel, but the Huxley has less pieces than a mendel. So would this work? Has anyone tried this? Thanks for your replysby owism8 - General
Techzone is actually working on a site which will convert your .STL file into Gcode using skeinforge engine which is designed specifically for the Huxley or mendel . Its easier than Skeinforge though because you dont have to worry about all the variables: Its here:by owism8 - Huxley
Thanks Brnrd. Yeah my techzone one melted... Seems like the thermocouple heated up too much and melted the silicone cement. Which it shouldnt have because it should handle up to 500C. My tip was up to 245C. Could it be that I was checking the temp every 3 seconds? I don't see why this is an issue though. I dunno, I want to become a manufacturer of kits because there are so few companies out thby owism8 - General
Hello All. I was thinking to get a quote from Emachine to machine the parts needed for: Adrians extruder hot tip: Unfortunately they wont take just the drawing show above, they want it to be drawn in their software. Can someone volunteer to use their software to make the design: Then the community can just order the parts and benefit from the cheap manufacturing of the parts rather than ordby owism8 - General
Hello. Im looking for all the parts which are used to make this hot tip: I need .5mm hole on the nozzle Thank youby owism8 - Wanted
hm I tried that and it still is pushing the filament out at high extrude rates. Im going to change the extrusion amount from 1.625 to 1 and try itby owism8 - General
Ok this problem is occuring again. Today my tip jammed into the bed. I made sure all the plastic was reversed and tightened it onto the x axis carriage again. Then for the second print, the tip was fine, but the plastic guide on the external Wade extruder side came out! So pressure is being applied at these two spots and its finding its way out either way - through the tip or through the extruby owism8 - General
Im using right now because I don't have the new volumetric firmware and I really wanted to print fast. I will do SF later down the line once I get the new firmware. So out of all of the following, whcih one could I change? Quote3dtoolchain gcode tool Check this box if you are using Volumetric Firmware Start Speed for Z Movements (mm/min) Max Speed for Z Movements (mm/min) Amount to Shift tby owism8 - General
Ok i found out my problem Some of the gear teeth were dull which hooked up to the belt on the xaxis. I solved this by hot gluing to fill in those dull spaces. Heres the good print! Also here is how I hot glued: I also tried adding plastic guards on the x-carriage, but saw that didn't stop the slippage, so thats where I deducted the gear teeth issue. To reduce the ooz I will try to increaseby owism8 - General
They aren't too tight, they have space to move up and down a little. I'll try something out tonight and post as soon as I get another print! Thanks Brnrd.by owism8 - General
Ok so my tip didnt slip this time I tested a print. The Techzone engineer Kurt sent me a website he is working on : , I used it to generate Gcode for the huxley. The print was fine in the beginning then my X axis started getting stuck in one direction. Here is the video: Here is a pic of the print: Any advice?by owism8 - General
Thank you so much Brnrd. I'll let you know how it goes. I really gotta do my college research before monday so Im trying to keep myself away from reprap so I can get some homework done. Any huxley users have the same issue of the tip slipping out of the holder?by owism8 - General
I adjust it same way after I read a previous post by you with that method. I have screws on my bed with springs under so i adjust the height accordingly. The way its connected to the x-axis carriage is like this: Using the extruder bracket: It gets pushed out of there. Is that normal for the extruder to push the tip down out of that bracket? I have it tightened fully, but no other supports.by owism8 - General
I think I don't know how to add myself. I might have deleted someone elses? help! sorry if I messed something up.by owism8 - Reprappers
Yep it works great. see my initial oozing:by owism8 - Huxley
well i fixed the gear slippage by just gluing it on with loctite after notching the motor axle, its working great so far: For the software, Im using repsnapper. What you have to do is change the orientation of the figure in the "Input file" tab. On the bottom of that screen there are Buttons to rotate the Object under the title "Object Rotation" just play around with those X and Y buttons untilby owism8 - General
Hello All. Please see this video of my hot-tip jamming into the bed. http://omemon.wordpress.com/2011/05/01/first-print-test-fail-tip-jam/ I believe there are two reasons for this, but I don't know what it is. 1) The hot tip wasn’t hot enough to melt the plastic as it was being extruded, thus causing the plastic to push the whole tip downwards. 2) The extruder is just too fast with the repsnby owism8 - General
I am using the Techzone Monotronics: Also could I just downgrade to SF39? I'm trying Gcode with Repsnapper and the way its dealing iwth my machine is I think its pushing too much filament too fast and thus causing my tip to smack into the bed everytime. My temp is fine so thats nto the problem, its the speed at which the extruder is going. So i figure SF should fix this problem correct, even iby owism8 - Firmware - mainstream and related support
Im having difficulty approaching this. I looked on the forum here: and here: but there are no instructions on how to change the firmware to the correct settings. Could someone send me a firmware file with the correct settings for wades extruder? Or can I just use the older skeinforge version?by owism8 - Firmware - mainstream and related support
Thanks Brnrd, I'll look into it.by owism8 - Firmware - mainstream and related support
The Skeinforge version is: 11.04.26 So Which version should i use in order to be compatible with TechZone firmware?by owism8 - Firmware - mainstream and related support
Hey thank you so much! Yeah i got temp reading! Woohoo! I put it up to 250 and its blackening the plastic yay I am now dealing with an issue with skeinforge G code whicih I am trying to print through Repsnapper. My motors are trying to move but they are not One person on the IRC chat suggested the following might be the problem, that skeinforge is trying to push my motors at a speed/torqueby owism8 - Firmware - mainstream and related support
Repsnapper Current temp reading is empty. But the Thermocouple is connected correctly to the board. The hot end I am using is the one from techzone. You have to wrap the nichrome wires and the thermocouple around the brass tip. The firmware is also preloaded from techzone.by owism8 - Firmware - mainstream and related support
