Thank you for all the replies. I will try with latest nightly octopi. I now understand that it already includes all tools I need. About modeling, I will leave it to a desktop computer as suggested. Thanks!by Crux - General
Thank you for the reply I am trying to create a 3d printer fully dependent on raspberry pi only.by Crux - General
That would be great. I will try it. How about a 3d modeler app? openscad or similar? Could I run it on raspberry? What should I choose? Octoprint, Astroprint, Octopi or simple Raspbian with some apps installed? Does Octopi include all needed software?by Crux - General
Hi. I want to use raspberry pi to generate Gcode. And maybe even to make simple 3d files. Is this possible? Can I print directly from raspberry Pi? Thanks!!!!by Crux - General
And how can I handle 3 diferentes materials in.slicer without pause for swapping materials? What slicer do you recommend?by Crux - Reprappers
Is there any slicer that can generate full colour g-code fronteira a 3d modelo? Thanksby Crux - Reprappers
Thank you all for the replies. I want to be able to work with all 3 extruders in same time, to allow some kind of colour mix. If i am right, I believe your system only works with one extruder each time?by Crux - Reprappers
Meanwhile, after some research, I found some stuff: Diamond Hotend Stepper expander (for 3rd extruder stepper) Could this be the best to work with 3 extruders? Any opinion over there? Thanks!by Crux - Reprappers
Hi. I want to add a 3rd extruder in a highly modified prusa i3. How can this be done? What kind of hardware will I need, since ramps only allow to connect 2 extruders? Also, how ill I be able to control it via slicer? For those who done it before, what kind of slicer / app do you recommend to control 3 extruders? Thanks!by Crux - Reprappers
great help! Thanks. I will try that.by Crux - RAMPS Electronics
Quotecdru You can get +5v from the Vcc pin next to the reset button on the ramps board. Note that you're limited by how much current you can draw via that pin and the more you draw, the hotter the voltage regulator will run. If you're using an ATX power supply, you'd be better off using a 5v line from there. Or just get a 7805 voltage regulator and power it from a 12v line. Thank you for the reby Crux - RAMPS Electronics
Hi. I want to plug a USB led light in a piece like this: I have this cable already: I want to use the USB only to power out 5V. Not to transfer data. Where can I connect it to be able to do it? If I connect in Arduino USB port type B, it will not power out anything Thanks in advance!by Crux - RAMPS Electronics
Hi. I would loike to build a bigger heated bed than standard size 200x200. I was thinking on a 300x200 and a 400x400 size. How could it be done? Is there something already for sale? Maybe a tuturial? I use mk2a but i need a bigger one. Thanks in advance for any replyby Crux - General
Thanks. I would like them. I did some stuff on inventor. Not much Thanksby Crux - General Mendel Topics
thank you for the reply. as told before, without the hotend it extrudes perfect. 100mm extrusion is correct. what could it be knowing 100% sure that without the hotend, extrusion is correct. But with the hotend, it extrudes less than 50% of whats supposed to extrude Opinions are appreciated. Thanks. Thank you for the reply. I will try those things today. According to your suggestions: 1 - It is a lot tight at the moment. And it extrudes perfect without the nozzle. 2 - the extruder steps per mm (without nozzle) currently extrudes the correct measure. That link you posted is supposed to extrude with or without nozzle? 3 - could you be specific on temp settings? I didn't understand that. 4 -by Crux - General
sorry. here is the correct link for the video:by Crux - General
yes, i believe it is. i put both the nozzles on acetone today for 24 hours for a complete cleaning. Will see if this helps. I found on google search that a M303 command should auto adjust PID. But it does not give constant results. I run test 3 times, and i get 3 different results. How to get accurate values to put on marlin configuration? And here is a test video extruding white abs at 240by Crux - General
I have tested 3 bolts. I have them all. Here is a photo of the other 2: It extrudes perfectly well. I believe there could be another reason for the filament to ocasionally block on the nozzle, and that causes the slipping Thats what i need to find out. Why does this happen with .04 and 0.5mm nozzle. well, what else could it be other than the bolt?by Crux - General

hi. I am using g3d buda-style. its this one: when i try to extrude it hot and with nozzle, it stops extruding after a few mm comes out. what could it be?by Crux - General
hi. the hobbed bolt itself is perfect. i have tested with 3 different bolts already. Doesnt seem to be a hobbed bolt issue. I will take a photo in few minutes. meanwhile, what else could it be?by Crux - General
Hi. I cant get an uniform extrusion because the filament keeps slipping in the hobbed bolt, damaging it and keeping it from extruding. What are the common reasons for this? I am printing ABS at several temps (220-250°). The Z_Steps is correct. 100mm extrudes 100mm ±1mm. Without the nozzle, of course. What could it be? Any advice is kindly appreciated. Thanksby Crux - General
I am not sure. But i can put the hotend and the heated bed side by side on the hotend hole to check if it gets similar restults. could this be a valid test?by Crux - General
HI. I didnt understand the "feedstock is slipping" expression. Could you elaborate it? I am using G3D Buda-style HotEnd v1.2 . I installed a fan on it, to direct the air to the upper part of the hotend. Here are my slic3r settings: And here is my configuration.h from Marlin: Any ideas on what to do next? What are the most common reasons for this? So i can have a focus. At the moment I dontby Crux - General
Hi. I cant understand what is wrong with my printer. My prints are always having an horrible print quality. What could be wrong? Check the pics: That's 3mm ABS with 235-250° and 100-110° in heated bed. And its this part: Main problems: - First layer never sticks on glass - Remaining layers have dificult to stick to each other - We can see layer lines on the side. hi. i am using EPCOS 100k thermistor. i selected 1 in the firmware. // 1 is 100k thermistor - best choice for EPCOS 100k (4.7k pullup) thermistor and the hotend is from this kit: i see it extruding, kind of. it stops extruding after a few minutes. any suggestions? what could be the best method to apply a fan, and where to point it to? cant do any good print since first day on my prusa i3 The hotend keeps blocking the filament. i dont know how to fix it. i am using the g3d Budaschnozzle style hotend why cant i get an uniform extrusion? any help? tested with pla about 185-200° and abs with and without fans at 230-250° with 0.4 and 0.5 nozzle do you recommend another hotend?by Crux - General
