I have added some basic schematics and build notes to my website... Apologies for the crudeness of the writing, I will tidy it up an add information as I work it all out. Should be enough though to help get you running

Couple of things I can suggest...
Number 1.
Download and unzip the Arduino V023 software. It works just like the new Arduino 1.0 but Marlin definitely compiles correctly using it.
Number 2.
Worth having a look at Pronterface (Printrun) for your PCside. Many people have had issues between RAMPS and replicator G. Pronterface is less torublesome
Printrun can be a bit of a pain to instal

And it also has support for RAMPS with LCD now as well. Just connect your LCD and configure the pins.h file to match...

Have you checked the your baud rates match. It's one of the first settings in the Marlin configuration.h file and is also prominent in pronterface. sprinters default was 115200 Marlins is higher at 250000. Double check these match.
If they do match and you are still getting rubbish, try turning the Marlins rate down to the 115200 and adjust in pronterface to match. Some USB ports/PCs don't l

I have one working and will post something on my website this weekend. I have made it on stripboard.
Bad photography, but hopefully you can get the gist of it.

I vote for Cat5. for the steppers, thermistors and end stops. I love it because it is cheap (more often free if you have an IT department who keeps the end of rolls for you or you keep an eye out for discarded lengths) and if you split the cable you get 4 twisted pairs.
I use a heavier gauge cable for the heating elements purchased from my local electronics supplier.

Hi..
I don't have schematics, but I have a had a few people interested in doing this so I will try and put something together over the weekend. I pretty much wired it up on a wing and a prayer, so tonight I aim to come up with a more practical wiring arrangement and write it up on my website... I will keep you informed...

I have done it...
I had to re-write some of the Marlin code in order to get it to work, some of the commits that I have made to the code are available on the Test branch of Marlin at Github.
Shoddy Youtube Clip of the LCD in action...
I am still playing around to get the best layout, but I will post up my front panel, schematics ec when I get a chance. But if you look in the pins.h file in

I am not sure we will need to amplify it. Observation says that the difference is considerable. It should be easy to see it using a mm scale.

I was thinking about this today and I have an idea for measuring improvements in stiffness using a line laser, ruler and a luggage scale.
Mount the line laser securely on the top of one of the z-axis steppers, pointing at a parallel wall.
Secure the ruler horizontally so that the line laser intersects the 0 marker.
Attach the luggage scale (or more accurate if you have it) to the z-axis smoo

I have the printer running tonight printing a wades extruder in 100% fill. Lots of backwards and forwards acceleration and deceleration.
With the braces attached the Prusa looks and sounds a lot more composed. There is still a little movement in the x-plane. But we are talking a couple of mm at the top of the vertex now. This is a fraction of what I was getting before.

I will describe my levelling system... I find it an improvement over the standard.
I have two main enhancements over the standard, the first being a small addition to the levelling bolts. Rosette Screw This makes levelling a whole lot less of a pain to do.
In order to make the process less frustrating I originally moved from having four sprung bolts at each corner to having three. Two on th

I have been reading with interest the debate as to how effective the cross braces can be.
I have just completed a set for my Prusa and while there is still movement in the frame, the cross brace makes a valiant effort in removing lateral movement.
I have not used the upgraded frame in anger yet, It will be interesting to see if the additional stiffness improves the print at all.
