QuoteBugeo Can we write the info in Spanish or does it has to be in english? It can be in Spanish. There are many pages in Spanish (see for example Proyecto Clone Wars). Ideally you would make two pages, one in English and one in Spanish. Make the English page first, even if there are only a few words there. Then add "/es" to the end of the page link, and then you can create the Spanish versioby MattMoses - General

QuotePaul Wanamaker Other pages I have tried to send people to could not be found through the Wiki page hierarchy, like the Gcode page. Since Gcode clearly is "Reference" material, I added it to the Reference category... Isn't this how it should be done? Sure, it doesn't hurt to add pages to appropriate categories. To be honest though, if I ever need to find something on the wiki I just use a seaby MattMoses - Administration, Announcements, Policy

This is a cool design Vaeder, thank you for sharing. Lots of other good ideas here too. Although it does not use a belt, the LibroStruder is designed in the same spirit as Vaeder's V-struder. The LibroStruder page on Thingiverse says it "uses plastic-on-plastic friction forces rather than toothed-gear biting forces to grip and advance a plastic filament. The Libro-Struder is less prone to jammby MattMoses - General
QuotePaul Wanamaker I'd like to discuss (if it's acceptable) how this could be perma-linked in the Printing forum, and included in General (could be linked in one of the existing perma-links) . Quoteleadinglights Somebody should really come up with something, preferably legal, that can be done to force compliance with open source licenses. If you tried to contact them and they ignored you, the next thing you could try might be sending a DMCA takedown notice to their ISP. QuoteReverBat the direct Z drive just did not work out Can you elaborate? What were the problems? For Z motion, do you think a printed lead screw like this one or this one, or a printed Sarrus linkage like this one or this one would work?by MattMoses - Developers
This is indeed wonderful. Every time I am about to give up on RepRap, something cool like this shows up and gives me new hope. It is impressive that the printed plastic-on-plastic linear rails work so well (youtube video link here for convenience). I wonder if the printed parts show any steps or artifacts from where the rails are snapped together? Do the rails need sanding or filing to make themby MattMoses - Developers
If it is too difficult to get commercial printheads to work in this application, it might be worth trying to build your own. Quotevreihen how about paying the Phorum developers to host it? This sounds like a fine idea, but it does not get around the critical problem we have. In order for this idea (or any idea) to work Someone needs to make the decision that we are going to do it. Quotevreihen I find it difficult to believe that you can't find anyone with those common skills willing to do a server migration. There are perhaps ten people who actively volunteer their time as admins for reprap.org. I do not know the exact number because we basically never talk to each other. Of these ten people, perhaps two or three have the skills needed to perform a server migration. Of thoby MattMoses - Administration, Announcements, Policy
Quotedc42 So I suspect some fund-raising is needed in order to fund an adequate platform or these forums. The problem is not a lack of funds. The topic of a new server occasionally comes up on the reprap admin mailing list. The last time this was discussed (more than six months ago) Adrian Bowyer mentioned that the ad bar on the wiki brings in enough funds to pay for a new server. vreihen, I thought your post was funny and I feel bad for deleting it. But I do not think we should get in the habit of trying to poison SEO spammers. It would clutter up the forum with off-topic posts containing (possibly) inappropriate language. QuoteLoboCNC I've got the in-feed height of both the right and left strings for each pair located in the center of the shaft and as the shaft turns, one string winds up the shaft and the other winds down the shaft. There's a slight bias pulling the strings back towards the center so each string ends up with a tight, single layer wrap. Would you be able to post some pictures of this? People: You do not need to reply to spambots. Just hit the 'Report' button and some volunteer grunt admin like myself will delete the post. If you guys engage in a long witty conversation with the spambot, it confuses the admin. Is the admin supposed to delete the whole post? I think the appropriate place for the Folger Tech i3 topics is the Prusa i3 and variants forum. I moved some of the smaller and newer topics already. I only hesitate to move the larger threads (here and here) because, since they are so heavily viewed, I do not want to move them without asking people what they think first. What do people think?
