HI guys! I thought this could fit in here - no printer, but the electronics base is a RUMBA board and the firmware is Marlin - still not 100% working an the 6th channel but I'm still busy at this point.by Optimist - Mechanics
Hello guys! Since the last week I own a ( Taurino) RUMBA Setup and I'm rather happy with it running the "normal" setup ( the 3 interpolated Axis and 2 Extruders) -> now adding the 3rd Extruder something happened see the attached file. Just starting the right version of the gcode - everything is ok and even more complex code behaves right as long as I only use the XYZ T0 T1 axis without T2by Optimist - Firmware - mainstream and related support
Hallo Kollegen!
Could you please tell which version of Marlin you have and where to download???by Optimist - RAMPS Electronics
In the first it seemed that the problem would just occur in one direction so I thought it would be a good idea to flip the stepper connectors to invert the direction but as soon as I invert the axis in software or change the homing direction the problem occurs again!by Optimist - RAMPS Electronics
Same Problem, but with the switches comming from the wrong side and they are ignored- ( does anyone know if there could be a trick with the Endstop Pullups setting to solve this problem???) //=========================================================================== //=============================Mechanical Settings=========================== //================================================by Optimist - RAMPS Electronics
I have recognized the same when hitting the ref switch on -y everything works fine - when doing the same with y the switch is ignored but when moving the ref back by hand ( -y) is recognized in as a Zero position ( if you haven't disabled the "no steps below Zero config" I positioned my Ref Switch at the ymax end ( short before so I'm able to choose the park Position above and so home with - yby Optimist - RAMPS Electronics
Hello guys! Recently I'm playing a bit around with the Taurino / Ramps 1.4 Setup and the full graphics smart display and Marlin1.0! I configurated the thermistors for Mendel ( 4.7k pullup) ; mainboard type 34 ( 2 Extruders and Bed) ; and tried to preheat the nozzles - preheat ABS 240°C ok ; preheat PLA 180°C ok Now the question: - I just can use prepare to move just 1 extuder motor! Took me several days ... sorry about the delay but now I have the raw strucutre finished .. just the spindles and the reference for Z axis are leftby Optimist - Mechanics
REading the first sentence I thought the Z steps would be too small in relation to the nozzle so the extruded plastic smears along the nozzle and finally sticks to it.... but as you mentioned the extruder.... so foar I understood : do you have radial play on your extruder axis? If the hobbed bolt is in the bearing and the paearing has play you could fis it with some epoxy glue to fill the gap beby Optimist - General
Yep . strucutred the y axis.... Waggon included ( carries 2 Fans with guide and muzzle and as soon as I have cut the Interface both the nozzles.... So far for today now I need some treaded bolts to keep all together and to assemble the stepper and the belt + pulley to the strucutreby Optimist - Mechanics
Depends on the data you have available! If you are with 3ds... you simply could add some geometry using C4D If you go with a single mesh ( also triangle obj or native triangle mesh) you could try sculptris on square face OBJ you could try Zbrush or Mudbox or eventually Truespace if you are able to change to Stl ( not recommended but I dont know your possibilities or mathematical file base youby Optimist - 3D Design tools
Today I did the first half of cabeling .. , the heatbarriers; coupling for the bowden on the Extruder side and finished the connector plate.. regardng the DSUB connectors ... I chose the " good ones" ... rated up to 5 A / contact!by Optimist - Mechanics

SImba - perhaps you could give Caligary Truespace a trial! Since Microsoft took Caligary it is not further developed but the last release is free as I know... - I think TS can handle OBJ and so perhaps you are lucky in this caseby Optimist - General
Funktioniert! Prima! passt - Von der Ablaufsseite wieder was dazugelernt!
Hello Simba! OBJ is one of that one way tickets - like STL Normally OBJ can be created fro triangles as rectangular facettes - some creators ( Rhino e.g. create a seam line where the object is closed in NURBS design some dont ( Z brush , Mudbox. Sculptris) - but OBJ is allways discrete elements / multiple facettes object as STL is! If you can convert rectangular style obj to triangular obj styby Optimist - General
To avoid stick and slip effect and possible wear out due to exposed mass best would be as the busings and the belts fixation are in one plane which also intersects the center of mass of the moving parts! the wider the busings are from ach other. the more tolerant is the system in case of exposed mass .. the closer.... That is what I mean ... just deviate a STL IF and when you need it, but further work on the mathematical source and just use STL as a pre post processor interface and only of your CAM is not able to handle better formats! For HWC or Routing as Turning I'm lucky as I use a CAD with an integrated scripting engine - similar to VBA - not REAL TIME FAST but it works,,, HWC Routing Turningby Optimist - 3D Design tools
Depends what the term shall imply to offer ... just my 2 Cents of feeling Modeller - gives shape and geometrical definition after spec - I would more or less define it as a service job as ist just modelling Designer - creates specification ( more or less set by a (hand made) prototype) afterwards more administrative work regaring the resulting product and keeping it close to spec Artist - bby Optimist - 3D Design tools
Lets say it this way: STL is a one way ticket! Deviating geometries from a mathematically defined model (Step; 3DM etc) to e.g. STL or VRML or one of the more illustrative file formats like OBJ oder 3ds always leads to a discretization of information ( in case of the illustrative files the renderer/ shader afterwards improves the facette look to back into a smooth appearance - the discretizatby Optimist - 3D Design tools
Now there is another little step forward - although - due to the functional density ( all " gears" must fit together ) it is a great effort...by Optimist - Mechanics
Yepp Guys! _ Yesterday I got my RAMPS and steppers. After a little bit too long night and some sheets of dibond and outdoor panel board ] You can see the lower Tray of the Unit carrying the printing cardridges -PLA and ABS; RAMPS ; Powersupply and extruders as the control unit ( in the Background)by Optimist - Mechanics
This method ist existing ... And the material is also existing - called papermicarta - also made from linon - for knife handles e.g.by Optimist - General
Thought about a similar principle but with another background - Building a cross axis Y on X normally requires a motor for the y axis on the X axis - which increases mass on the X axis The upon method could ( in case that x and y motors would be installed on the baseplate and the y motor would be driven in differential way in relation to the X Mmotor prevent this mass. problem ( the y Motorby Optimist - Mechanics
