My guess is that your filament feed system (hobbed bolt?) is to tight or to loose. You may not notice this problem when using manual extrusion.by Schufco - Reprappers

Hello, The schufco prusa i3 kit does not require soldering. About the power supply, from the RAMPS 1.4 wiki page: " The bottom pair of connectors marked 5A power the stepper drivers and Extruder heater/fan (D9, D10). The source should be rated a minimum of 5A. The pair of connectors above marked 11A power a Heated Bed, or other output (D8)." So 20A for the power supply will be more then sby Schufco - General

The Prusa I3 is a popular model and easy to find parts for.by Schufco - General
" and I don't see how printing less would fix my problem of not printing enough." Your are building up to much pressure in the nozzle, your hobbed bolt will chip away filament and looses its grip and won´t be able to push anything trough anymore. Change following e-value in your firmware in configuration.h. Do not take the value of the line below but manual extrude 10mm filament with your softwaby Schufco - Printing
You are probably extruding to fast, lower extruder steps in your firmware. The extruder-motor wants to push more filament trough the nozzle as it can handle, causing a jam.by Schufco - Printing
Remove all drivers and connections from ramps and re-upload your firmware, if successful connect thermistor to T0 and try to connect to repetier-host.by Schufco - RAMPS Electronics
Did you test your electronics after smoking without an psu? Is your mega2560 still being recognized by your computer when connecting usb? If yes, add a thermistor to T0 and connect to your 3d-printer software and look for a extruder temperature reading(assuming marlin was installed) If you got a temperature reading, you may be in luck and continue to use your electronics.by Schufco - RAMPS Electronics
All of those parts are ok for your project, although i myself do not have experience with RAMPS 1.57. I only use ramps 1.4. The Mega2560 is not original Arduino, but a clone. This is no problem. Try to keep your orders light and small, probably split the orders to avoid import taxes.by Schufco - Reprappers
The Prusa I3 model is pretty popular and easy to get parts for. The over-all price will depend where you´re from and how long you are willing to wait(china orders).by Schufco - Reprappers
"That's clearly not true. I have no problem printing things and they adhere quite nicely to the cold acrylic bed, but they do tend to warp at the corners." Of course you can print abs on an unheated bed, but the question was how to print abs without warping. You can always use raft layers or brim to reduce warping, but eliminate it...? " It is interesting that only the bottom warps, which wouldby Schufco - Reprappers
Printing ABS without a heated bed is nearly impossible, i would not recommend heating a acrylic bed. The main factor of warping is your part cooling off to fast. I myself only have no warping when using heatbed at 100°, mirror covered with kapton tape and sprayed with abs juice and even then it sometimes goes wrong. That is why i only print PLA anymore....by Schufco - Reprappers
Did you change your electronics board from 33 to 34 in configuration.h in your firmware?(assuming you are using marlin)by Schufco - RAMPS Electronics
How can changing the firmware be simpler and faster, turning a motor connector around takes 2 seconds.by Schufco - Reprappers
Just turn your motor connectors around and your problem is solved.by Schufco - Reprappers
