I'm using a rotary click encoder on my GEN7. It's cheap , its small and you only need 3 pins on your ic.von scuba - Repetier
Hi Jazzy! How did you accomplish your silk?! I've read about good results by toner transfer but haven't tried it till now. Looks great!von scuba - Next Wave Electronics Working Group
ErikZalm has just merged the changes for GEN7 together with some other pull requests to the "Test" branch. Would be great if you cold try it and give some response.von scuba - Next Wave Electronics Working Group

Fuses are used to configure special options on your chip. For example : define size / address for the bootloader; configure brown-out detection; keep eeprom memory stored during resets ;and so on ... There are 3 fuses (which are in hexadecimal format) you have to deal with: low-fuse, high-fuse and extended-fuse. -> Fuse Calculator You have to set your fuses right before you can upload yourvon scuba - Next Wave Electronics Working Group
Great to hear that there is some work on this!! I'm really looking forward using a lcd display with repetier!!!von scuba - Repetier
Thanks Traumflug! Haven't tried your new bottloader yet but I can remember that I had to configure the ATMega1284P in $ARDUINO_HOME/hardware/tools/avr/etc/avrdude.conf to manually set the fuses an upload the bootloader. I've done this in in Arduino-022 ..maybe 0023 supports it out of the box???? If not just see my attached avrdude.conf; Using GEN7 with different firmwares (f.ex. Marlin) also revon scuba - Next Wave Electronics Working Group
Hmmm... yes... now you're talking about it I remember I've run into the same issue in my beginnings.... You have to use different Chip "fuses" for Marlin.... The differences to the original GEN7 fuses are: - activate: Preserve EEPROM memory through the Chip Erase cycle; - Brown-out detection level at VCC=2.7V; So reset the fuses to: lfuse= 0xF7 ; hfuse = 0xD4 ; efuse = FD; (You'll need a pvon scuba - Next Wave Electronics Working Group
Yep... in the original GEN7 support folder there are some files missing / different for what Marlin needs to compile. I've borrowed them from the Sanguino folder which comes with Marlin. I've only tested it with Arduino 0022von scuba - Next Wave Electronics Working Group
Thanks for the pin configs!! I'll look for an intelligent way to switch through GEN7 Versions in pins.h and implement it in my repo. No my commit is only present in my repository; But you just have to change some lines in temperature.cpp. In the commit view (follow my link) you can see red lines (with "-" in the beginning) which has to be replaced with the green lines (with "+"). They tell Marlinvon scuba - Next Wave Electronics Working Group
As I've written before Gen7v1.2 (and v.1.3.1) can't read correct temperature values when it's powerd on and in standby mode. Marlin runs a "kill" procedure if the messured temperature gets too low or high. The "kill" starts a loop till the chip gets resetted and will not accept any input in this state. So it's not only changing the pins.h. You can get rid of it by applying my commit (or somethinvon scuba - Next Wave Electronics Working Group
Hi! I've done it on my GEN7. So telling you my wiring will not be very useful for you. I've taken the ultipanel idea and redesigned it for my own needs. Generally you are free to use any unused pin combination you want. You just have to define them in pins.h correctly. The only part which has to be "hard wired" is the sdcard adapter which has to use the hardware SPI pins (MISO,MOSI,SCK). Maybevon scuba - Firmware - mainstream and related support
I can see that's what Traumflug has done for his future release. I've I noticed swapping temp readings when heaters were switched on and off. Cause I've etched my board with the old design I had to cut the obsolete copper trace with a knive and connect the resistors to AVCC trough an isolated wire. Not the most beautful way but it works and is much faster than reetching and solvon scuba - Next Wave Electronics Working Group
Hi dorftarts! Great to hear that my Marlin fork worked for you too!! Sorry that there is still no documentation for using Marlin on GEN7 but my testing has just finished jet and I had no time to create a proper documentation. Some quick infos (which you've allready noticed): - The pins.h is for Alphons3 version of GEN7 in which the x-dir and x-step pins are different from the original. - I've avon scuba - Next Wave Electronics Working Group
Hi terramir! #1 As far as I know the bootloader should be firmware independent cause it's only function is to load the compiled code through the serial connection. As an alternative you could also load the program through a programmer and skip the bootloader. #2 Recently I've got Marlinv1.0 running on my GEN7 Board. But there had been several issues which had to be fixed in code and hardware.von scuba - Next Wave Electronics Working Group
Hi John! Yes ; I've built the board according to this schematic . I've allready switched to a 74HC4050 hex buffer/converter which seems to work real well. Unfortunately my "stupid user scenario" produces the same behavior in repetier Host. I have'nt tried it in windows anymore so it might be only an issue on my linux.von scuba - Repetier
Lately I had an issue freezing the repetier host gui while uploading a file to my sdcard. I'm using a resistor based sd card adapter and so I think its mainly a hardware related problem which isn't caught by the host. (For example I've noticed that my sdcard isn't allways mountable by repetier firmware) reproducing the behavior: - start Repetier Host - power up mainboard - connect host and movon scuba - Repetier
Dank dir Repetier!
I've brinted the extruder from Prusas STLs using SFACT and had a similar issue. So I ended up printing it with support which is not possible with Slic3r at the moment. But good to know that there is a version with closed holes out there!!! Look great!von scuba - Slic3r
