There is no MINIMUM price - I would take them for FREE if I could! The MAXIMUM price is based on the demand. Currently the demand is high, the supply is low, and the effort required to create a set is also high. Selling on EBay (and making sure the RepRap community knows of the auction) is the best way to get the best price. Currently they go for ~$350 although there are people that would paby rhmorrison - For Sale
Although I haven't built the McWire yet I would say that it is easy to obtain the parts and put it together. The only apparent problem is the threaded rod drive. If we simply change the design to a belt drive (for the x and y axis only) then we should have a cheap RepStrap machine that is as fast as the Mendel and should therefore be capable of creating the needed RP parts to build a Mendel.by rhmorrison - Reprappers

I have to disappoint you but Open Office is not dead in fact ODF (open document format) will likely become the standard. In addition it is available for all OS's and the majority of user are Windows users (as am I). Also Open Office supports directly saving to PDF format. And openoffice.org works fine for me, maybe you should check your internet connection. Anyway the information you want is:by rhmorrison - General

Yes, I used Google Sketchup to design the part (and generate the animation). As soon as I get the design finalized I will also post the Sketchup file.by rhmorrison - Reprappers
My plans are very similar! There are a couple of discussion ongoing as to whether anyone has built a Mendel (or Darwin) using a McWire as the RepStrap. I have seen on YouTube a number of McWire machines using belt and pulley and they are as fast as a Mendel (if not faster). I am planning on using M8 threaded rod instead of the ~M6 in the design and if that turns out to be too slow to convert tby rhmorrison - Reprappers

I disagree, he stated that he intends to start producing Mendel parts with the machine that he produces. That would be two machines producing parts instead of one. There is no guarantee that the person he sells the parts to will create any Mendel parts to sell!by rhmorrison - General
Sorry, missed that "except". I didn't consider that an option since the frame corner pieces are by far not the largest pieces, ergo I don't have much gain by only having them and none of the other pieces. I have everything except for the RP parts and if I can't find a source for them in the next couple of weeks I will have to go the RepStrap route (unfortunately). For me the McWire seems like tby rhmorrison - Wanted
Why don't you look in the For Sale section of the forum? There is someone selling sets of frame vertices! And someone else is selling sets of frame vertices over EBay.by rhmorrison - Wanted
I already have the complete Generation 3 Electronics from MakerBot as well as barrel, nozzel, PTFE spacer, ABS, nichrome wire, kapton tape, thermister and four NEMA 17 stepper motors. I NEED THE RP PARTS... and since it doesn't look like I am going to get them the McWire seems the best choice.by rhmorrison - General

Since it is still very difficult to obtain the needed RP parts to build a Mendel many (including myself it would seem) are forced to build a RepStrap machine in order to be able to make the RP parts. My question is how do you build an extruder without the RP part? It looks like the McWire robot is the easiest route to go but how do I build the extruder? The insulator, nozzel, nichrome wire, kapby rhmorrison - General
