Not sure on firmware (and version) the RepRap is using. I will find out on the weekend.
Slic3r is version 0.9.8-dev.
I have tried again today with same error, however the first line of error is different (I might have missed this detail on the previous post).
Serial Error: Line Number is not Last Line Number+1, Last Line:0.
Then the following error (I mentioned in previous post appears about 10

Hmmm, same error happening again.
Tried slicing a new .stl file to load updated gcode file into pronterface and same error.
Unplugged power and USB and same error.
Pronterface seems to behave ok until the gcode is loaded. I.e., Check temp gives me the temp, but after I start the loaded gcode file, pronterface gives the error and Check temp gives the response SENDING:M105.
It could be the custom

Hi,
I've been 3D printing with a PLA filament and the 1st layer is very unreliable and rarely sticks to the bed.
When the extruder extrudes the filament, the filament tends to curl back and stick to the extruder. The following filament that is extruded then sticks to the bed, but because of the first bit of filament curling back and sticking to the extruder, as the extruder moves along the bed i

Thanks. For the record, started working again after a couple of days and unplugging the USB and PSU.

Hi,
the 3D printer RepRap Prusa Mendel was working nicely.
However upon boot up today, the extruder temperature went up to 280 degrees celsius, rather than 220 degrees celsius.
the 3D printer then calibrated itself on 1st start up and tried moving z-axis (that is, from front to back) and heat bed was back to the maximum and tried to move further back for about 10 seconds.
I have rebooted the
