One crazy idea that i just had would be to mirror the print bed and the arms, so that with the same number of motor and rails it would print two objects in just one print job. But they would be mirrored i guess.maybe if each carriage had both a long and a small arm it could do just fine.by pdesigns - Delta Machines

A couple of months ago i was sourcing parts to build a Delta printer and while i was doing i realized that i would prefer to have a big horizontal print area instead of a vertical one. So i created this concept to respond to this points: -Static motor arrangement -Speed of movements (X and Y) -Big horizontal build volume (rectangular 400x180mm) -Bellow 500€ cost The resulting printer dimensiby pdesigns - Delta Machines

We were to announce the winner at the TCT Show, but the organization of the RepRap Community Hub took some very hard work and we decided to postpone the results of the competition to after the show, so we could have time to really look at the entries and make our decision. I added two photos to show the way i connected it wrong. I only connected three pins instead of the four of them. Looking at it closer the middle pin of the Mosfet has a little black spot. When you say FET is it a short for Mosfet? How do i check the gate voltage/control pin? I guess i have to use the multimeter, my question is on what points? Sorry for all the questions.. **also i just pluby pdesigns - Reprappers

Nice concept! I do have one idea similar to this concept (but its the arm that goes up on the Z) and from that i come up with one similar to the PiMaker. I do hope that the software for this type of printers gets some development because thats the reason my ideas are not getting more developments. I had to repair a crimp connector on my heatbed and when i connected everything and turned on the heatbed to print i realized that i had connected the things wrong! The smoke i saw coming from the board helped me to realize that.... Result: now when i turn the heat on to 60º for example it just keeps on going on and on...it just ignores the temperature i set, but it gives me the reading of the tby pdesigns - Reprappers

The dxf from the thingiverse link is in mm. If you are in doubt you can guide your self by the mounting holes for the nema 17 and check if they have the correct dimension. But that link is to Prusa Air not Prusa Air 2: Cheersby pdesigns - General

i also have been looking at the rostock marlin adaptation and comparing it to the the mendel version trying to understand what was needed to change. but the more i look the less i´m feel like i have any skill to change it Besides the design that its on my mind would require me to divide the print area in two, with a positive and a negative side, and when the hotend would move from one to the oby pdesigns - Reprappers

Hi guys, I´m trying to learn more about how the firmware works on the coordinates aspects. What do one needs to do to change a Cartesian firmware like Marlin or Repetier and make it to work with printers like Rostock and Morgan? Hi Ian That printer is called Prusa Air, and its not the Prusa I3. i´ve build a Prusa Air as my first RepRap and i have to say that the frame is not very rigid, and i don´t think that just because its in aluminum is going to make such a big difference. have a look at Prusa I3 : or Mendel90: and compare the frame designs. So i did a first basic model: i´m basing the build on the X and Z axis design of the FoldaRap, witch right now only have small tweaks (still on initial fase!) I also plan to use the RepRapPro hotend. Now i´m going to work on the print bed mechanism, and it will be the first part to get a real development. I will not add a heated bed for the first prototype. If i go with a heated printing bed i would probably try the slip ring before everything else. Or i also found a instructable on a DIY version: The sketch i did last night really looks like that PiMaker. About the PiMaker: as a designer i was look at projects carefully when people say things like "this design is so revolutionary that(...) has the potential to change the 3D printing industry"by pdesigns - Reprappers

I´ve given it a little more thinking. One mechanical issue that is troubling me is the wiring of the heatbed..having wires arranged in a way that they don't get tangled is not going to be easy! But the idea of the printrbot mix, having the arm moving back and forth is interesting. Also if i follow the initial concept looking at devices that have a similar work structure like the hard drive mechby pdesigns - Reprappers

I might try and test it some of these days.. I might start with two pillars with a simple axis in conjunction with a rotating table, and if that provides interesting result then explore this approach. Hi everyone, In the last couple of days this concept for a reprap has been on the back of my mind, so i just did a quick sketch and i´m now asking if you guys think that there is any potential in this concept that makes it worth working on it? Hi everyone, One of the requirements we included on the rules of the competition asked for a photo of the printed object: " -Link to the .STL file of the model, and one photo of the printed object." This would make it very hard for those who don´t have a 3D printer or easy access to one to participate on the competition. Boas. Só agora vi este post! A minha impressora, versão prusa air 2 custou sensivelmente 450e, tirando as peças de acrílico que obtive no meu local de trabalho a custo zero Quanto a peças comprei as partes eletronicas no emakershop ao vendedor think3dprint3d, o j-head no creative machines, as peças impresas ao reiderink e o restante no reprapworld.
