Hi all from deep in the snow of northeast US. I am just learning and tweaking my printer. I sratch built a Prusa i3. I'm using Marlin,Pronterface, & Slic3r. My question is: how can I change printer/print settings while the print is ongoing? For instance adjust speeds for different areas, or layer height, or temps. Thanks for any help Peterby PedroB - Reprappers
Fairly new to all this and having fun de-bugging my printer. right out of the gate I got a couple of really nice prints. I currently have a strange problem with my z height. I have my bed well trammed in all around. I'm using slic3r with a .3mm layer height. The first "wipe" move is great- nozzle lays down a nice bead and then moves in for the print and nothing sticks to the bed. I tried adjustiby PedroB - Reprappers
Hi, Just getting to know my new printer and have been printing some simple items. I decided to try a pen holder with an abstract shape but after 2 hours of trying to generate g-code,i cancelled the effort. The green fill in the status bar moves right along until about 90% but then just hangs I'm using Slic3r Thanks for any help in advance, Peterby PedroB - Slic3r
Hi all, I have sucessfully (so far) built a Prusa i3 from scratch. About 4 months of picking away at it. Printed my first parts this past weekend. 2 basic questions: it seem that it takes a very long for the bed to heat up. over 25min to get up to 120 deg C. I have 16awg wires going to the bed. Thermister poking up through the little hole. What should I be looking for to troubleshoot this? alsoby PedroB - Reprappers
Thanks for responding Doug. I'm not printing yet, just working my way through the setup and trying to absorb as much info as I can along the way. Consequntly I'm sitting around playing with (working on) the printer that is powered up with fan running. So I became curous about how I could independantly control it. What is PSU? Power Supply Unit?? I've attached an image from the RepRap site thatby PedroB - Reprappers
Obviously not a showstopper but i am playing around with g-godes and wanting to set up custom buttoms in Pronterface. M107 should turn off extruder fan but dosen't. Any advice? Thanks, Peterby PedroB - Reprappers
Steve, Thanks for your responce. Makes perfect sence. I implemented and am on my way. BTW: snooped around your other posts (great list of tips). I'm a fan of instructables but didn't concider it as a resource. Wonder why it never comes up on google search when troubleshooting. Thanks again and happy new year Peterby PedroB - Reprappers
Hi All, I have built a Prusi3 from scratch. I've gotten my firmware (Marlin) loaded and have been able to home Y and Z axis. I am having trouble with my X. When I jog from Pronterface the extruder travels in the expected direction. If I flag the mechanical endstop i can see that it registers as X min endstop when I issue a m119 command. When the x-axis homes, it will hit the endstop but try to cby PedroB - Reprappers

Hi, I'm a newbie, partway through a Prusa i3 build, and am interested in finding and connecting with other builder/user's in Maine. I live in Auburn and work in Portland. I build automated assembly machinery for a living so i have somthing to offer in the mechanical realm. Peterby PedroB - Request a Local RepRap User Group
Hi Siil, That is a good question. I am a new builder as well so I have no answer for you but I and interested in what you get for responces. I purchased a set of printed parts on eBay for Prusa i3 rework. So far the parts have fit pretty well and I have most of the mechanical compnents assembled. I also purchased a E3Dv6 and have assembled those parts that I received from E3D- it is a nice unit.by PedroB - General
OK I'm really showing my inexperiance with navigating the file system at github. If i click on a file i get a view of many lines of text. if I click on the file icon i'm prompted to save the file to the clipboard. where is the clipboard and how the heck do i get an .stl or any other file type to download so that i can open it up with solid edge?by PedroB - General
Not sure how to get to the .stl files on github. Can someone provide a link. The .stl will import directly into solid edge? Thanks for any help...by PedroB - General
Hi All, Ive been following the builds for a couple of years now. I believe that I am ready to begin a Prusa Mendel. I would like to first build a sloid model of the entire assembly. Is there one available for download? If not are there individual parts that I can download to then create the assembly. I'm using Solid Edge which is a program very simiar to Solid Works Thanks for any help, Peterby PedroB - General
