Quotejupdyke You can use them to create what ever 2d files you want. That is what I did for my cnc machine which needed dxfs Hey can you give me a walkthrough on this? Like what software you are using, how to convert the file. I saw a python script available to convert .stl's to .dxf, but haven't tried it. thanks.by FrankNeon - General Mendel Topics
Half way through the build and I have some pics up at frankneon.tumblr.com In regard to the molded parts, as Mattkos stated, they do break, sometimes even with light hand pressure, so I am using a small file and superglue which gets the job done. Since in the kits one will receive threaded rod for the vertex with cut ends, much of my vertex bars had bent threads, so I ground them down to the nby FrankNeon - For Sale
Just got my kit in the mail yesterday. I'm startled already at the scale and simplicity of Mendels as a whole, I kept thinking about something easily twice the size. Regarding the kit, I'm happy to see pretty much all of the structural parts, electronics, and motors are there, in lieu of receiving the extruder this should keep me busy in the meantime. Some of the pieces are a bit rough from theby FrankNeon - For Sale
Hi there, Andrew. I saw your article in Make and it was by far the most compelling idea for me in that issue. I've decided that I might build my own, but have a question regarding using infrared LED's instead of the laser line. I'm familiar enough with electronics to wire everything to adapt, but will I need to create shutters to limit the infrared to a line on the object I'm scanning? Thankby FrankNeon - 3D Scanners, Book Scanners, and Optics
James, I do consider my questions to be true. I actually do work for a local charter school and organize and facilitate community education for three local libraries and a regional college, I also run local workshops and build nights surrounding the tech and DIY world from my business. My question was not intended to be anything more than a request for information. I would hope that you do coby FrankNeon - For Sale
Quick question, are the plastic parts that are normally printed from another printer actually injection molded in this design? I've noticed in the ad on profounddevices.com that the vertex pieces are split halves and would be basically hollow internally. If the pieces are injection molded, will this affect the integrity of the machine?by FrankNeon - For Sale
I have actually been contacted by someone here in my home town because they saw my point on the Reprap map. I have the suspicion that it might be a browser issue, or mysterious other. As noted above in this thread, it seems that updating the may or at least checking on it might be pertinent because of spam protection and such. As least, we know we're involved, right?by FrankNeon - Administration, Announcements, Policy
This makes me think of the tactile behavior of BEAM robots like symets and bristlebots. If the form of a concept such as foglets and those awesome little molecubes are adapted, say, with a tiny microcontroller, this could be great for kids to learn from. We all know its their imaginations that are best.by FrankNeon - Robots!
Hi there, I am a proud owner of a new Mendel kit that my friends and I have bought to set up in my local shop and experiment with. I've tried three times now to list our Mendel on the World RepRap map and three times it either hasn't saved, or has been removed. I can't tell either way, but do not see a policy on what can/can't be listed. Upon review, I realized that my first listing might haveby FrankNeon - Administration, Announcements, Policy

Just ordered a kit. Great communication with James the last week and even through the order process. In my humble opinion, anyone with critique should realize first that this is a constant experimental project.by FrankNeon - For Sale
