I only stated the "Not beating up" part because many people on here think that anything above $200 for a printed Mendel set is too much. I am sure that the parts you make are many times higher quality than what any RepRap can currently produce, and that if RepRap ever get's to commercial quality, the commercial sector will have improved just as much. Honestly for the RepRap community the likelyby spacexula - For Sale

FYI $1,577 for a full set of RP parts for 1 Mendel, I broke down the numbers on my blog. I love you guy's ability to print 1 off parts. What is your accuracy of printing, and what is the lead time on parts?by spacexula - For Sale

Now that we have the great English Language RepRap aggregation pipe: And considering google has just integrated Tranlate into Chrome: I am really curious about the non English language blogs RepRap blogs. Is there somewhere that all the German, French, Spanish, Arabic, Japanese, and Chinese language blogs are aggregated?by spacexula - General

Figured out how to use 1 less bar in your Mendel Build, and gain 1 extra rod for your next Mendel. For Mendel you need: 440x2 370x6 294x4 355x2 418x2 Instructions say 9 Bars, but you can do it in 8! My way of cutting this is 370+294+294 370+294+294 440+440 330+330+294 EXTRA 294 PEICE! 418+418 355+355 370+370 370+370 Should I update the Mendel m4 data sheet?by spacexula - General
> I consider the whole lasercutting story a failure > on the project itself. It just gives a negative > reputation... I completely agree, but read the tea leaves differently. The structural framework, whether it's laser cut, or RP, is always less than 40% of the total cost of the rig. The non laseruct/RP parts of a Mendel is 400 Euro or $600, that's $250 less than a Makerbot, and 350by spacexula - For Sale
There is an extreme shortage of the RP (printed) parts right now. Unless you have the money to have them commercially made ($1200-$1300), you will need to build a Rep Strap 1st. There are 2 commercial kits, the Makerbot in the US, and Rapman in Europe. Makerbot is a direct RepRap derivative, meaning you could take the electronics off a Makerbot, reflash the firmware, and turn it electrically iby spacexula - General
I just read through every post on the For Sale thread, and can only find 1 example of where the RP parts for a Darwin or Mendel was posted here. Lots of talking about offering the parts, lots of people asking for the parts. Is there another place where these parts are offered, or was there literally only 1 set actually sold on the market in the last year?by spacexula - For Sale
Why would you want to use your RepRap to print a PCB, when you can use your laser Printer? Best step by step. I think the RepRap would make a great CNC for the holes if you where doing mass production, but beyond that, it's going to be hard for RepRap out do the quality and price possible with this procedure.by spacexula - General
If I could have a full Mendel kit together, with everything but the Gen3 Electronics & RP parts for $500 , would there be any interest? That would include all: Screws & Bolts Rod and Bar, all cut with 1 cm play 4 NEMA 17 Steppers All Bearings Laser Cut Thick and Thin Sheet All Belts Also would there be interest in the RP pieces for $200 more?by spacexula - For Sale

Check out the Mendel M4 assembly data Sheet, or my blog at repraplogphase.blogspot.com, I just finished an electronics tab for the Mendel. It did not include the Bits From Bytes kits because it is a proprietary offshoot of the RepRap Firmware. Basically means hackers around the world don't have access to all the firmware/software related to the boards. If you find other options for the Open Soby spacexula - United Kingdom RepRap User Group
God, that is a pretty print. But $450 - $600 for the software? What are they smoking, I can build a RepStrap for that!by spacexula - General

I am hoping to finish my Makerbot Build next month . My plan to to go into full serial production of Mendels. My goal is to have 3 Mendels, and 1 Makerbot all going full blast producing Mendels. Most people I see printing Mendels are printing 1 part at a time, but is that the most efficient way? What I WANT to do is print my Mendels this way -Segment my prints into 2 hour chunks.
