I've seen some demo's / videos of prints where it looks like there is a line being printed coming into the raft, prior to the actual raft being printed. I am having an issue where the 1st 4-5mm of the extrusion that is put down for a raft does not stick well (possibly cooler extrusion?) but the rest of the raft goes down fine. Is there a setting in SF for this? Should I be changing something eby sxt173 - Skeinforge
True, I did go the more expensive route. Thing is, I had been working on my Mendel for 5-6 months now, and this is the 1st time I am getting consistent good prints. Being a noob, I was kinda fed up and just wanted something reliable without having to reload and figure out new firmware, change out the electronics, etc etc. I took me 1-2 months just to get any front end to see the Mendel, baby sby sxt173 - Reprappers
Hey guys, I'm finally done with my heated bed. I went a different route as I did not want to mess with the firmware or running things through the reprap and am getting great results: Parts: Prusa PCB Heated Bed 1 LED 1 Resistor Thermocouple Wire (I think Type J) Love Industries TCS-4011 Temperature Switch from Grainger.com An old ATX PC power supply 3/8 inch Pyrex Glass cut to order at onedaygby sxt173 - Reprappers
Here is the zipped Profiles folder. I appreciate the help! Edit: Solution. I just deleted the contents of my profiles folder and restarted Skeinforge 41, turned on Dimensions, didn't change anything else and did a quick craft for a 40mm cude, the E codes show up!! Yay. I will go through setting by setting to see what broke it to begin with when I have time.by sxt173 - Skeinforge
Any other ideas? Everything is working except that I am not seeing any codes like "E117.9" which I assume is what makes the extruder turn. What's the M101 code supposed to do? I know it means extruder forward, but is it actually supposed to start turning the extruder, then all the G1 plots below are completed until M103 is sent?by sxt173 - Skeinforge
Thanks for the tip. I turned on Active Dimension - Relative Extrusion Distance. I still get g-code like the following (example): G21 G90 T0 G92 E0 M104 S210.0 M101 G1 X-25.92 Y-23.01 Z1.0 F479.5 G1 X-25.92 Y-22.91 Z1.0 F799.167 G1 X-25.92 Y-22.81 Z1.0 F959.0 The E codes that repsnapper creates are still missing (example) G21 G90 T0 G92 E0 M104 S210.0 G1 X49.65 E39.3 F2300 G1 X49.65 Y49.65by sxt173 - Skeinforge
I'm running skeinforge 41. My problem is the exact op site of the above, there are no E codes. When I compare repsnapper generated codes, it includes E codes, skeinforge does not include these. With skeinforge, the extruder does not extrude. With repsnapper, it extrudes. Any ideas on how to get the E codes included?by sxt173 - Skeinforge
Does anyone have detailed instructions on how to hook up the Prusa heatedbed to the electronics so the heat can be monitored/controlled? I'm not great with the electronics.. I have a Mendel w/ techzone Gen3 remix. Also, I'm guessing I'll need another thermistor or thermocouple to attach to the setup? Pls help or point towards a detailed wikiby sxt173 - Reprappers
Anybody try using the Makerbot Heater Board? I'm thinking about Kapton taping this to the bottom of a pyrex glass plate. Would it be a plug&play as far as connections to for example techzone gen3 remix boards?by sxt173 - Reprappers
Anyone have ideas on how to adjust the current on Techzone Gen3 Remix boards? I do not see anything on the stepper boards themselves that I can adjust. Link to boards I have. My steppers are running very very hot, can't even get close to them with my fingerby sxt173 - General
Anybody try simply attaching the MakerBot Thing-O-matic Heater Board v1.1 to an aluminum plate? Would their solution be a plug & play with the reprap or techzone Gen3 electronics? I'm thinking about getting this, attaching it to my Mendel aluminum plate, with a pyrex-glass build surface on top. I'm assuming that the aluminum will spread the heat to the whole glass platform, since the platfby sxt173 - General

I will be trying out your recommendations when I get home and will also upgrade to a (flat) glass heated surface.by sxt173 - Reprappers
But I'm assuming you don't start prints with the tip height at the thickness of a sheet of paper? That would just "squish" the plastic that's extruded.. Once the tip is level at all points, how do you set the correct start height? Any ideas on the other questions/issues?by sxt173 - Reprappers
Hi all, I'm a newbiew and just started printing my 1st (fugly) parts a few days ago; very exciting! I am having a lot of trouble with getting the z-axis to an acceptable start point. I searched but did not find a comprehensive solution in the forums. My setup below: Mendel from BotMill Techzonecom Gen 3 electronics Running Repsnapper v353 - (no adjustments made) Printing w/ PLA Non-heated aluby sxt173 - Reprappers
I should have a working one in 4-5 days, will dm you my info once I get it running.by sxt173 - New York City RepRap User Group
Ok, I just reinstalled the latest techzone firmware from their site; look for a link to the extruder head assembly under the thermocouple one A-D section and I can now connect to both the RepRap software and repsnapper beta. Now my problem is that when I try to move any of the axis' in either softwares control panel, I can only get them to move in 1 direction. So z axis only moves up, etc. Hasby sxt173 - General
So has anybody tried using the Makerbot electronics kit with the Mendel (the new Generation 4 electronics meant for the MK6 stepper extruder)? My Mendel has the Wades extruder and if I can just use the Makerbot Gen4 electronics with the latest ReplicatorG plug-and-play, that would be great. I'm starting to give up on my Techzone remix, I've had zero luck with it, even getting it connected.by sxt173 - General
I also found that even with the OneWireA-DFirmware.zip, I could not compile in Arduino 022. It did however work fine in Arduino 021. I don't know why, it just works in the older versions for some reason.by sxt173 - Firmware - mainstream and related support
jamesdanielv and rhmorrison, thank you and thank you. I will try different speeds once I'm home, I was having the issue (when testing) of hitting nudge, getting the axis to move as intended, but then having the Reprap Software freeze, e.g. the nudge button stays "pressed" and I have to x out of the terminal & restart mendel to get things to work again.by sxt173 - General
When changing baud rate, is it correct that 1) we change baud rate in Preferences menu of reprap software, 2) we also have to edit configuration.h file and reload the firmware? Also, for windows machines, do we need to adjust the baud rate in the device manager menu under the port settings?by sxt173 - General
NYC RepRap group, When are you guys planning the next meetup? I'm just finished my Mendel and want to get some tips from the more seasoned people + some help.. Cheersby sxt173 - New York City RepRap User Group
Any solutions for Windows XP?by sxt173 - RepRap Host
It compiled and uploaded fine for me with the added #define's. I am having all sorts of other issues even getting my reprap software to see the MB, so I can't test if it works..by sxt173 - Firmware - mainstream and related support
I figured this out (I think) Since the error was saying that the temptable and bedtemptable were not defined, I just entered a #define statement to those 2 lines. See below: #if TEMP_SENSOR == TEMP_SENSOR_RRRF100K_THERMISTOR #define temptable = &d_temptable[0]; #endif #if BED_TEMP_SENSOR == TEMP_SENSOR_RRRF100K_THERMISTOR #define bedtemptable = &d_temptable[0]; #endifby sxt173 - Firmware - mainstream and related support
Skoll, which board do you pick on the Arduino software for the Techzone v1.2 Remix? I have the green light on and the red light is just constantly blinking. I have not been able to get it to do anything else. My main goal is to upload the 'Blink' example to see if I can get one of the lights to blink at a different rate. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FV2P58FmEQby sxt173 - Controllers
