I have a Geeetech I3 Pro C with a BLTouch fitted and working with Marlin 2.0.5 Bugfix (about 2 days old). It is setup to probe a 4x4 matrix and uses :- #define AUTO_BED_LEVELING_BILINEAR #define EXTRAPOLATE_BEYOND_GRID #define GRID_MAX_POINTS_X 4 It runs OK probing all 16 points but when printing a large job (~150x100mm) I notice that one corner of the "Skirt" seems to be not quite right becauby softfoot - Firmware - Marlin
I had a similar problem on my Geeetech I3 Pro C on one print job only. It would print ok untill it reached a oparticular layer then it would shift by the same amount each time. It was highy consistent and 100% reproducible but only for that print job (I was printing from the SDCard). I tried a different "slicer" - it was the same shift but slightly higher up the work piece. Nah, thanks for the reply but using the defaults (or your suggestions) if I set a target temp of 50c it only goes to 40c !! About as much use as a chocolate tea pot ;-) I have raised a bug report on it. Daveby softfoot - Prusa i3 and variants
I had PID working under 1.1.8 beautifully but when I upgraded to 2.0.x (With bugfixes) the same settings ceased to work and for some reason the "auto-tune" feature just hangs. Any idea what would be a reasonable default starting point (assuming that is the cause for the hang) ?? Regards, Daveby softfoot - Prusa i3 and variants
For reasons of my own I have defined my X size as 190 and the Y size as 170 and am using BILINEAR probing with 4x4 points. Everything works OK but the maximum probe X range is 170 --- I would have expected it to be 190 (or there about). The default bed size for this printer is 200x200 so perhaps it hasn't been noticed before --- it's almost as though someone has mixed up X and Y somewhere ;-)by softfoot - Prusa i3 and variants
Hi, I have a Geeetech i3 pro c but I find the rotary encoder on the standard panel (LCD2004 ?) is a bit erratic --- sometimes the menus move on two steps and sometimes not at all when I rotate it by one index. I have changed the rotary encoder without effect and recently I got a different panel (a "Mini 12864") and moved to Marlin 2.0.X and encountered the same problem. It strikes me that it maby softfoot - Prusa i3 and variants
Thanks for the info. Daveby softfoot - Firmware - Marlin
Looking at the documentation it would appear that you cannot debug a Mega2560. (Atmel studio does (also built on top of VS) How do you upload the program ?? Via the serial port and bootloader ?? Is AvrDude integrated in ?? or do you have to run it seperately ?? Thanks in advance Daveby softfoot - Firmware - Marlin
OK Thanks Daveby softfoot - Firmware - Marlin
Does PlatformIO support Noteoad++ Regards, Daveby softfoot - Firmware - Marlin
It seems 5-10 times slower than compiling 1.1.8 !!! I realize it's more complex but even so ... Daveby softfoot - Firmware - Marlin
Does anyone have a better starting point than the example config for this printer ??? The config in "\config\examples\Geeetech\Prusa i3 Pro C" compiles OK but has several problems (On "auto home" it moves the wrong way and crashes into the end stop. but there are several other peculiarities). I'm rather pressed for time and a better starting point example would be a great help. Regards, Daveby softfoot - Firmware - Marlin
Many thanks Daveby softfoot - Firmware - Marlin
Unfortunately Geetech churned out a version of 1.1.8 with various fixes in it for my machine and at the time I gor the printer it was the only fw that you could build reliably - that's why I amy loath to go to 1.1.9 ... I'll try 2.0x when I feel brave ;-) Daveby softfoot - Firmware - Marlin
Thank you for the help - your configs were invaluable. I notice you didnt bother with 1.1.8 ;-) Under 1.1.8 there were a number of problems including a missing function call and a problem with the ordering of include files which didnt pass on the enabling of the "fillament out" sensor. It all seems to be working as it should now. It's all a bit of a bodge so a move to 1.1.9 is probably a goodby softfoot - Firmware - Marlin
Thats fine - nd ,ay give me a clue. Daveby softfoot - Firmware - Marlin
I can only think it is some other difference in the printer specific config ... any chance you could email me your "configuration.h" file ??? Regards Daveby softfoot - Firmware - Marlin
That is for Marlin 1.1.9 or 2.0.x -- NUM_RUNOUT_SENSORS only exists in 2.0 -- I am using 1.1.8 All of the other changes are in but make no difference. Is it known to work for 1.1.8 ???? or am I flogging a dead horse ??! Daveby softfoot - Firmware - Marlin
Hi, I am trying to setup a filament out sensor on my Geetech i3 pro C running Marlin 1.1.8. I believe I have made all the required config changes but M119 only displays X/Y/Z_MIN status and not X_MAX status (the printer repurposes the X_MAX connector for Filament Out. Oh gurus - what am I missing ?? Having got the printer setup for 1.1.8 I am a bit loath to move to 2.0.x just yet. Has anyoneby softfoot - Firmware - Marlin
Sorry, Yes I found the collection of config files and am using it. For some reason I missed them when I installed the 2.0 sources :-( I blame my age ;-) Daveby softfoot - Firmware - Marlin
Is there a configuration file for the geeetech i3 pro C for Marlin 2.x ??? I'd like to upgrade but modifying the config file for v2 is rather daunting and a good starting point would be a useful advantage. TIA Daveby softfoot - Firmware - Marlin
Given the transfer between the host and the printer is a series of ASCII strings is there any reason why I shouldnt use a "Trendnet Multi-Function USB 2.0 Print Server" and connect from the host over Ethernet ?? I have one that will be soon surplus to requirements and wondered if I could use it this way ?? Best Regards, Daveby softfoot - Printing
I have found that unchecking "detect thin walls" at least makes slicer put them in the preview :-) I have yet to actually print it - but this`may be a step forward. Daveby softfoot - Slic3r
I have a Geeetech I3 Pro C and am running the latest Repetier-Host which includes Slic3r v1.3.1-dev. I am trying to print a replacement drive belt clamp HERE for a friends unit but while the print quality is fine the teeth that mesh with the belt are missing!!! Interestingly, the preview generated is also lacking the teeth - so I guess it's no surprise they dont get printed! What am I missing?by softfoot - Slic3r
