Polycarbonate nozzle buildup - 6 years ago

I've designed a piezo mount to get some autolevel setup, was going to use polycarbonate filament. There is a globule of filament which builds up around the nozzle often breaking free wreaking havoc. Have never had this issue with abs, what is the cause of this. any steps to resolve the issue. Layer height seems okay and extrusion is calibrated retract is 7.5mm not sure what to do about it.

I made a complete mess of removing the coil, I ordered another sensor from aliexpress. I've got a piezo kit but I'm saving that for a second printer. The 3dtouch case has no way to remove a coil in one piece, replaceable coils would be a nice feature. trying to wrap a coil by hand is a nightmare. crossover poor tension and uneven spacing. also I don't know how many turns If I could design a jig

There's no way I can access to extend it without unravelling the entire coil. I've never coiled anything ever I'm going to unwrap it later today, it is really delicate wire maybe 0.1mm only way I can see is to unwrap loose and count when I pass a point might be worth testing with a thicker gauge see how it responds. I will post how many turns I count.

3D Touch Sensor coil broken - 6 years ago

I have a 3d touch from china, every now amd again it would not trigger crashing my nozzle. then i would unplug it and it would be okay just decided to open it and solder new wires without dupont connectors. there is a coil under yellow tape with a broken wire. there's no access to the wire without removing this tape. It looks like I'll need to remove the tape, reduce the number of turns by one

What is the budget for your printer are you from the uk I would go with coreXY, I'm using the HyperCube Evolution as a base.

Okay removed D2 connector, It is a K-type Thermocouple 0-600° I uploaded a Clean marlin firmware 1.1.6 still the same issue.

I just reconnected thermocouples and reflashed the firmware with the same settings as my previous post. The thermocouples connected are brand new and I have a green led on ad597 Have just noticed that if my power supply is unplugged the extruder/bed temps fluctuate around 486-490 deg When powered on the temps are constant 499.5 deg.

Thanks I'll order them, worst case I lose £30 and my printer is 19mm shorter. The extrusion was ordered cut x4 981mm (9.5mm thickness 3 way bracket) x16 500mm It's just occurred to me having 64 corner brackets could block the corexy gantry setup

Intended to use 3 way corner brackets In the description it states Uses: suitable for European standard industrial aluminum profile ( NOT GB ) special connector. It occurred to me before, an aluminium block with a thermistor or thermocouple pushed into a hole a few mm from the thread. Often with an airgap not close to the nozzle tip. Given potential lag trying to maintain a set temperature. especially with air attempting to cool the extrusion and nozzle. which can lead to premature hardening of pla causing weaker layer bonding. PLA needs to be solidified out of the nozzle otherwise it gets distorted easy, The heatbed will have less effect on higher layer's. too much heat from the bed can cause warping.

Freeze your Heater Cartridge, heat a copper tube, tap the cartridge in. Drill your heater block accordingly. It may be possible to use some copper braid.
