Akhlut,
Would you mind posting stl's of the modified 8mm parts? I would like to build one of these as well, and would also like the 8mm rods.

Yeah, that makes sense.
Come to think of it, the items that seem to end up the closest in time are things like round single wall vases. I never thought of an estimated acceleration on square/sharp edged pieces.

I am currently using Cura 13.06.04 to slice and print my items. Ive used other slicers and interfaces too, just prefer Cura right now. The other slicers were off in printing times as well.
Anyway, I slice an object and it says that it will take XXX time. The printing takes considerably longer, usually between 1.5x to 2x the time.
Now I'm not terribly worried that it takes more time because the

I actually built mine, with the help of what used to be the MN Mill. They went under not long after you posted this.
I dont check these forums as often as I should. HAHA
I'm really glad I paid for the class to build one. They led me through the steps of building it, and supplied all the parts. I left with a fully functional printer and the basic know how on how to work it. If I didnt have the c

Ive used a bunch of different bed temps. Ive found that warping is kept to a minimum around 100C.
Ive made many things with nylon, but single walled things still give me the most fits. The adhesion is good. I print with a raft, and the print still sometimes pulls of the raft a bit at the edges. that stuff has some serious warping force. Ive found if you put the object at 30-45 degrees to the top

I picked up a couple spools of the 618 nylon (3mm). I really like the properties it has and wanted to try it out.
Im just having an issue with it.
When the hot end gets up to temp, doing a manual extrusion it doesnt push anything out until 4 or 5 more manual extrusions. When it does come out, it just weeps for a very long time. Once that stops, I can print.
If I remove the tension from my ho

I know exactly what you are talking about. It does the same thing for me.
I dont know why, and the prints finish up looking right, it just makes a sloppy lettered area under your letters. Either hollow or raised letters.
Dont have an answer on how to fix it, its just wasted time and wasted steps, but it ends ok.

I accidently bought 2# of 618 nylon in 1.75mm when I need 3mm. So my 3mm is on order.
Does anyone want to trade for some 618 Nylon?
Id be open to any 3mm filamant, PLA, ABS, any color, or any other 3mm filament. I would like to keep this in the metro area so I dont have to ship it.

Its easy for the temps of the hot end to climb higher than you want them. Keeping a fan on them helps keep it in check. Not to mention getting some airflow to your PLA prints can be a good thing for print quality too.
