I just wanted to say Thanks for putting this all together. It's a great place to have a meeting of minds. I as well as countless others have received so much help on our builds and our reprap or strap journey. I just wanted to say Thanks and tell you I appreciate everything you all do.by REPRAP SQUAD - Administration, Announcements, Policy
Nice It's always good to meet new people. Welcome and hello. Do you offer samples of your products. We are looking at different manufacturing materials for a hot end extruder. Pm me and maybe We can figure something out. Thanks.by REPRAP SQUAD - General

If it was you out of these 3 what would you use. Would you use one or a combination of them. Thanks.by REPRAP SQUAD - Controllers
I made a new structure that will secure the entire base of My PrintrBot. I used dampners to take out any movement when the machine is in operation. Another reason I added this base free feature is to organize my wiring. In the picture you can see that there is a space or void between the base layers under the acrylic. This works perfectly as a cable pass through. I can organize and put My logicby REPRAP SQUAD - Developers
I was wondering if I could use your start to finish guide on my blog and of course give you credit. I think it would be nice to give some people an idea of start to finish printing concepts. Let me know and thanks. Great guide .by REPRAP SQUAD - General
Color is something that you have to take into account also. Different wavelengths effect the properties in the end state. Just something to consider.by REPRAP SQUAD - General
I must say that wooden mendal build is absolutely beautiful. What craftsmanship. I'm truly impressed.by REPRAP SQUAD - General
Not sure about heat distribution. I never got passed the thought of, " fusers get hot enouph to melt place." " I wonder if anyone has tried it?" I was curious if anyone had tried to implement it onto a hot end. I'm somewhat new to hot ends. I'm still at the, how can I build a extruder phase. Just trying yo think outside the box.by REPRAP SQUAD - General
I don't know if you still need an answer. Depending on which motor your referring to you might need a ruducer gear and I think they might be under powered. Pm me with questions.by REPRAP SQUAD - Stepper Motors, Servo Motors, DC Motors
Ya I was looking through a bunch of my transformers, a bunch of them I believe to be custom made at the factory for commercial use and I found a huge 24 v with just a 115v. Two wires in primary and two wires in 2ndary. The other owe I found is 115v and on the 2ndary it has 8v and 10v both are pretty heavy duty. So I got to try and figure out which I will use for heat bed, extruded, motors etc. Iby REPRAP SQUAD - Controllers
I was wondering if anyone has ever tried using a "fuser" from a laser printer as a heating element. I know they can get super hot and can be easily adjusted. The parts are cheep and readily available. Just an idea and I wanted to see if anyone has an educated opinion.by REPRAP SQUAD - General
I figured out a better way to mount the motor with a heatsink. So it will not only keep the motor from moving or sagging but it will help lower motor operating temperature which will improve performance. I also mounted My base structure onto a piece of acrylic which will help with regitity. I finally got My belt mounted for the y axis, no improvements made yet to the y axis.by REPRAP SQUAD - Developers
Oh I forgot to label the three circles after the bridge rectifier are capacitors run in parallel.by REPRAP SQUAD - Controllers
So if my memories don't completely fail me this is basically the order in which I need to wire it. Also I think the reason why I can't find any info on this transformer is because it was made to custom order. I got it out of a really expensive concert light. I have some 8v and 10v dual secondary ones too.by REPRAP SQUAD - Controllers
I finally figured out My Y axis end stops. The extruder will have a little peice sticking out which will trip the end stop when it gets close to the end of the axis. The best part is that It's easily adjustable. Now I need to get the other two axis setup and I'll new on to the next issue.by REPRAP SQUAD - Developers
Moving forward with my goal of giving my Printrbot an upgrade and washing away its downfalls. I took a concept from my previous CnC build. During my CnC build I have to solve a problem with backlash and I came up with a great idea that can be implemented into the Printrbot setup. It consists of two nuts. One of them a standard and the other a longer nut, with a spring mounted in between. This wilby REPRAP SQUAD - Developers
Can I put a fuse between the hotside like you said as well as one on the return. I think I've seen it. I know My power caps need to be roughly double the voltage but about how much if should I use.by REPRAP SQUAD - Controllers
These are the colors of the wires I have and that came on the transformer. I don't have the 2nd fuse wired yet, or the 2nd plug in. I might have more fuses also if needed. I think the 2nd plug will be used to power that mini-power strip in the case. This mini power strip is powering USB power as well as power for the arduino etc. If it was you how would you set it up. I also don't have a rectifieby REPRAP SQUAD - Controllers
Okay I'll spend a lil bit of time putting together a basic skematic for you and I'll post it online. Thanks for your help it really means a lot to me and getting back to electronics is getting back to the old me.by REPRAP SQUAD - Controllers
Here are some pics of the transformer and my setup I'm building. I'll try and take some of it apart if you need better pics.by REPRAP SQUAD - Controllers
Thank you for your help. I used to be into all kinds of electronic stuff but I had a bad brain hemmorage. So I have little short term memory and its hard for me to figure things out that I used to find easy. None the less here I am trying as hardas I can with the limited budget and limited brain function. My Dr. Said it is good for me to try to do this stuff again so here I am. I will take a pictby REPRAP SQUAD - Controllers
I have a pretty strong transformer and I'm wanting to know if it will work. Its not a very common transformer. On the primary side it has one 0v, one 120v, and one 220 and on the secondary side it goes in this order 24v-0v-12v-0v-12v. The info on it is. Brand: Top Mark E1HLWA11 (24v/11A) I'm trying to figure out how to hook it up for my printrbot. I can't find any info online and I have spent dayby REPRAP SQUAD - Controllers
I know many people that own a printrbot are having issues with a sagging motor due to heat radiation from the bed. I have developed a mount that holds equal pressure to the motor which eliminates any lateral movement. I am also getting away from the threaded rods for the base structure. My design so far has created quite a few good outcomes. Its a lot more ridged than I thought it would be at thiby REPRAP SQUAD - Developers
I finally figured out the sagging motor issue that many printrbot builders have. I created a mount for the motor that creates perfect equal pressure. It also eliminates any lateral movement. Check out the pics. That problem is solved on to the next.by REPRAP SQUAD - Look what I made!
Could I just use My dremal and deepen the grooves. Also I got parts for a printebot build and it came with a Wade's geared extruder. I have a bolt that fits well and is like many hobbed bolt I've seen. It is half smooth and half threaded. Is it better to hobb the bolt on the smooth part or the threaded part. Or does it even matter. Thanks.by REPRAP SQUAD - General
