I've heard of this new machine that will spit it out after you design it. I think they call it a reperap or something like that. Its a machine of the future maxxxmayhem. Imagine the day when we will be able to design something on a computer and then print it out in some sort of plastic. That would be cool! It also doesn't help the situation that the average person here in the states thinks that 3D printers are some kind of magical thing that all you do is press print and this perfect object comes out. They compare it to their printer at home. There is a huge misconception on 3D printers. I asked my grandfather who watches the news regularly what he thought about 3D printers and he said, " They areby REPRAP SQUAD - General

That's what I did, I de-soldered a female from the Xbox motherboard. If you go on thingiverse there is a guy who made a mount for the female piece on his printrbot GO. He did a really good job and I would highly recommend you check it out.by REPRAP SQUAD - General
Why thank you. I'll keep you updated when I get to it. I have a huge back log of projects to get to before I start putting design to real life function.by REPRAP SQUAD - General
I actually have a design that's almost the exact same. I've been toying with it for years, adding or changing a little here and there. It looks like a great design and stable too. Recently I have changed the z axis to function with maker slide like concept, keeping the z axis rods as well. The vertical cut out for the z and x rods are used with v-bearings to add to stability and smoothness. I'veby REPRAP SQUAD - General
Like he said get the 203 watt version of the Xbox psu. It puts out about 17a on the 12 v line. I have used 3 of these Xbox psu on 3 different builds and they work great even when running a 8x8 heated bed. Great power protection. I have a write up on how to hack them on my WordPress blog. Definitely put a switch between the red 5v line and the blue power sense line. Your at power supply says its 2by REPRAP SQUAD - General
@ Simba-I was wondering if there is any update on your Android project as quite a few people I've talked to about it are interested. I would love to help work out bugs etc. Let me know when you have a functional copy to DL. Thanks.by REPRAP SQUAD - Developers
The only problems with the : Rigid chain actuator if I remember right. Is that it has really tight tolerances and requires a lot of stregnth in the parts that make up the sum. If it could be simplified in build and manufacturing you would be on course for a promising build. Taking that concept and applying it to four corners making up the z axis of a reprap would make it more compact, easy shippiby REPRAP SQUAD - Developers
Originally I was just going to build a printrbot LC extruder but, later on I decided to also make a wades lc extruder as well. The printrbot version is almost done, I’ve finished sanding super smooth as well as making sure all the bolts and bearings fit how they are supposed to. The printrbot extruder has come together real well especially taking into consideration that I’ve never built an extrudby REPRAP SQUAD - Developers
So we have decided to take on the Mendel 90 hybrid build as a side project as if we don’t have enough projects going on. We are not going to build a standard Mendel 90 however. We originally couldn’t decide between the Prusa I3 and the mendel 90. So we figured why not have our cake and eat it to. So after looking at plans for both designs we realized how similar they really are. We liked the I3 fby REPRAP SQUAD - Reprappers

I did a similar thing with my custom made Printrbot. I put my whole reprap platform on a suspension like setup. So it auto levels the whole printer and if there are any bumps the whole machine will move in unison. It doesn't move or vibrate much due to the reinforcements I've done. I like the sand idea, keep up the good work.by REPRAP SQUAD - Reprappers
Awesome build bro. You should nickname it Sherman. You know like the tank. That thing sure is solid and I can tell your taking your time to build it right instead of just rushing through the process. I tip my hat to you and I can't wait to see more.by REPRAP SQUAD - Reprappers
You can find the ramps board, Arduino Mega and pololu drivers just about anywhere. Search for them on eBay and a lot of times you can get a kit that will come with SD card slot or LCD. Since your not buying for a little while I would check for these packaged deals and watch the auctions on ebay. A lot of times you can get deals that are way better then typical sellers but, always check there ratiby REPRAP SQUAD - Reprappers
Some kits will come with it. You will need ramps, the driver boards ( little rectangular chips) 4-5 of those pololu, and an arduino Mega. The Arduino goes on the bottem, on top of the Arduino is the RAMPS board and on the RAMPS is the pololu rectangular looking driver chips.by REPRAP SQUAD - Reprappers
Typically any builder will recommend what they have found to work out best for them and their build. You shouldn't have any problem using RAMPS. I have never built a foldarap but like I said you should be fine. Here's an example, nopeheads mendel 90 recommends a melzi board I believe for his build but lots of people have built it using all kinds of different electronics. Those have been built witby REPRAP SQUAD - Reprappers

Good job and nice write up. I'm using a RAMPS modified setup with SSR relays. Its a different setup. Nice move with using the female plug. I'm actually in the middle of changing over mine as I just got a female plug a week or so ago. For posting a link to the information I appreciate that. I also spent some time updating the Xbox 360 off to clarify any misinterpreted information. Keep up the goodby REPRAP SQUAD - Controllers

The printrbot Jr. Is being ran solely off of lipo batteries by a lot of its users. They can run it long enouph for full prints. If your interested in learning and talking to the people that do it you can go to printrbottalk.com and chat with them in the forums.by REPRAP SQUAD - General
Yes maxx mayham I agree. I would start off with the basics. Good strong structure and start with 1 extruded. Once you get everything down then start thinking about multi-color setups. This will save you a huge headache. All major projects like this should be broken up into sections. Master one section at a time and complete each section before moving on to the next. This will help solve the majorby REPRAP SQUAD - Reprappers
I have heard of similar situations. During retraction the filament flexes in the tube and pushes against the sides of the tube causing the filament to stick in spots. I personally use 3mm due to less backlash and less retraction issues.by REPRAP SQUAD - Reprappers
Oh ya I was going to ask you if you used the 5volt line to power your logic circuits or did you use a wall wart or something else.by REPRAP SQUAD - Controllers
Ya no prob, I think this Xbox power supply doesn't get enouph credit and coverage. It has some of the best circuit protection and is reliable. It also heats everything up fast and it also is slim and portable. I always grab them when I run into a used one at a garage sale or thrift store because they are built like tanks. I'm glad its working out great for you.by REPRAP SQUAD - Controllers
