firmware is the latest i think, 57a I dont know if the spin call was a conincidence in the timing of the dissconection as the second time it failed was just mid print, image attached.by 88Zombies - Ormerod
............should probably add, this happened twice when trying to print. Ive since been playing about with the ormerod moving the motors, it hasn't disconnected. only seems to do so when printing....by 88Zombies - Ormerod
Hello! I've just changed the slic3r folders for the 'Ormerod-0.5' settings, dragged in two files I'd like to print (the ormerod large and small gear) It began printing all great, then about 1min simply stops and flags up the following warning; Can't write to printer (disconnected?). IMAGE ATTACHED the only way to get the printer back online is to unplug the USB, turn off the motor, wait aboutby 88Zombies - Ormerod
tried my first print last night (after a couple of successfull ormaxis.g prints) i was trying to print the large & small ormerod gears in one print. The only slic3r settings that i changed was the retraction to 4mm & layer thickness to 0.1mm. I exported file as a G-code file and added to the SD card... went to print the same as i did on the test pieces... It started off ok but afterby 88Zombies - Slic3r
Managed to have a little tinker with the printer last night. Printed a second ORMAXIS.G but it ended up being exactly the same as the first.... The steps I took: ~ I opened proterface ~ I recalibrated the heat bed (raising the nozzle very slightly) ~ I opened slic3r settings... ~ Changed the layer resolution to 0.1 (out of curiosity).... clicked save ~ I clicked changed the retraction to 4mmby 88Zombies - Ormerod
thank you for all your tips! Havn't had a chance to test them properly just yet, but will do. Didn't even realise that Slic3r settings was there! how do you mean need to save all three tabs individually?? I can't see a save button, though i am just looking at screen snaps online at the moment... I'm going to assume it is under 'file' dropdown? I think you may be spot on ray as I did knock oby 88Zombies - Ormerod
Hello! After the SD card issues, I've managed to do my PLA test print. On the first attempt, (heatbed @ 50°, hotend @ 205°) the corner of the X axis length started to gradually lift away from the heat bed. This lifting spread all the way down the X-axis length until the nozle cliped the component and knocked it off the heat bed. On a second attempt, (heatbed @ 60°, hot end @ 200°) the print stuby 88Zombies - Ormerod
SPOT ON!!! new SD card in and it's working A LOT smoother. haven't had to press reset once the IP address changed allowing the web interface Z, X & Y 0 cordinates altered in config/sys file printer even comes online quicker... don't know if it's another sign of a bad SD card but the Pronterface command log used to display a repeat of the last command entered litterally every 2 seconds fillby 88Zombies - Ormerod
Nope, no kingston logo. I have ordered one but have to wait the extra day for delivery now -.- Really hope that is the cause of the problem, i will take great pleasure in destroying the old one. I was half worried I might cause a fault by pressing the reset button so many times.... I just find it strange how my PC can write to/read from the SDcard no problem. I really hope it isn't a problem wiby 88Zombies - Ormerod
After initally adding the SD-image files to the SD card and inserting it didn't work. I pressed the 'RESET' button and it worked a treat, M115 displayed the correct info too. Each time I plugged in the USB I would have to press 'RESET' before it would work!! seemed a bit strange but carried on building hoping the issue would resolve it's self. I tried to change the IP address in the 'config' foby 88Zombies - Ormerod
ah lovely thankyou, spent a good 15minutes trying to find where the extra wires plugged in -.- haha yes I've just reached the "Watch for smoke in case something has gone horribly wrong!" part, the PSU was still in the box so if it did start smoking I would be extremely worried...by 88Zombies - Ormerod
Ah is that it? i did see that page but it only mentions that the ATX PC power supply has a 24-pin ATX connector and a 4-pin Aux power connector. It says at the bottom of the page "do not connect" I assumed more instructions were to come, that mention when to connect. Also, what about all the other wires that are are attached to the ATX PSU? do these just stay loose?by 88Zombies - Ormerod
just got the latest firmware off the reprap site (RELEASE FILE - "RepRapFirmware-057a-16-01-2014") When I perform the 'M105' check on Arduino 'Serial Monitor' I get the result; serial: M105 okT:9.8 B:22.8 but when i perform the 'M115' check i get the result; 'invalid M Code: M115' ........... is this a problem???by 88Zombies - Ormerod
Hi! where can i find the instruction section for the ATX PSU??? woroking my way through the instructions, couldnt find anything about the connextion, then on the commisioning section it suddenly mentions it as if it should already be connected... confused. especially after all the warning about how doing this wrong can fry the processor...by 88Zombies - Ormerod
