Hi all, I'm using an old Reprap Mendel for a new project but am having some pin out issues with it's Gen 6 electronics. Does anyone know the pinouts for the XYZ stepper motors in terms of Red/Green/Blue/Black wires so that I can re-assign them in Arduino? From it's old firmware i know this much: //x axis pins #define X_STEP_PIN 15 #define X_DIR_PIN 18 #define Xby andy_tratter - Stepper Motors, Servo Motors, DC Motors
Hi all, As above really, the extruder fan doesnt work whilst printing, but does when I fire M106/7. I have all the latest skeinforge settings from NopHead's Git Hub, maybe i dont have a box ticked somewhere? Any ideas greatly recieved. Thanks, Andrewby andy_tratter - Mendel90
Hi all, I'm playing around with a Mendel with the idea of using it to cut vinyl, I'm using PyCam to create the G Code which works well. What I want to know is if i load that into RepSnapper will it follow the code or is there any post-processing that needs to be done to make the code RepSnapper friendly? Thanks, Andrewby andy_tratter - RepSnapper
Hi Arnold, did you resolve this? Im trying to get Mendelize to run but it just flashes the CMD promt screen and doesnt load. Cam.py works fine though? Thanks, Andrewby andy_tratter - RepRap Host
Ah great stuff thats worked! thanks for your help - its been doing my head in all afternoon!!by andy_tratter - Mendel90
Ok just tried that, FireFox gives me the option to "save page as" and IE doesnt give me the option at all! Not trying to be awkward on purpose guys....honest!by andy_tratter - Mendel90
I saw that, the file is massive because it contains everyhing - is there a way to just download one or two folders? Thanksby andy_tratter - Mendel90
Hi all, So I want to download the latest STL files for the Mendel90, i've found them on GitHub and can get to the point where I can see the model and can pan around it, but I cant see where to download the files? I've never used GitHub before so dont really know what im doing! Thanks, Andrewby andy_tratter - Mendel90
Hi, I tried that but its still locked solid. I'll send you an email later to arrange purcahsing a replacement.by andy_tratter - Mendel90
Evening all, I powered up my '90 for the first time today and found that everything worked fine apart from one of the Z Motors. One side would work fine the other wouldnt move at all. Checked all the wiring and it was correct, so disconnected both motors and just wired the non-moving one into the board. When I tried to move it in the Ponterface software the motor just lets out a high pitched beeby andy_tratter - Mendel90
Hi Cylon, I've started to research into the Mendel90, I like the concept and design and it appears to be much more user friendly than my original Mendel. I think I'll buy a kit and have another go with it all, especially knowing there's someone close-by who's been successful. Dd it take a lot of messing around once built to get it working properly or is it it fairly straight forward? Andrewby andy_tratter - Beds/Herts/Cambs RepRap Usergroup
Hi all, Sorry to post this here but it seems like a good place to find a local expert, i have also posted in the Mendel section if it seems familiar! So a few years ago I bought and built a Mendel, and it successfully printed one or two very small basic items. I then encountered some issues when trying to print bigger items and had a bit of a play to try and fine tune the machine but with veryby andy_tratter - Beds/Herts/Cambs RepRap Usergroup
Hi all, First off apologies if this post is in the wrong place - moderators please move if there is a better place for it. So a few years ago I bought and built a Mendel, and it successfully printed one or two very small basic items. I then encounter some issues when trying to print bigger items and had a bit of a play to try and fine tune the machine but with very limited knowledge i kept goinby andy_tratter - General Mendel Topics
It worked!! Thanks everyone. Can you print directly onto it? I know it wont be perfectly flat like glass but at this stage that wont be a problem, obviously i'll put some kapton tape on the board.by andy_tratter - General Mendel Topics
Ah brilliant, thanks everyone. I'll take a look in a few days and let you know if it works. Thanks muchly Andrewby andy_tratter - General Mendel Topics
Hi guys, thanks for your replies. I've had a look at the tracks and i cant see any brakes, here's some pics: Thanks, Andrewby andy_tratter - General Mendel Topics
Hello All, I've treated my Mendel to one of those Mk2 PCB heated print beds but i cant get it to heat up. As i run gen 6 electronics i'm running it off an external power pack, initally i used a laptop style power pack at 12v but i realised that it was only running 70w so i wired the bed into a spare pc i've got knocking around, 12v again but this time 200w. I've measured the voltage across theby andy_tratter - General Mendel Topics
Ah i see, that makes sense! Thanksby andy_tratter - General Mendel Topics
Hi all, Im slightly confused about the Josef Prusa Mk2 Heated PCB print bed i've seen on Ebay. Does it plug into the circuit board or power supply? I've got Gen 6 Electronics but cant see where it would plug into to? Is it possible set it to a desired temp? The mk2 can come with a thermistor to messure temp but again, where does it all plug in to? Im pretty sure i've got the wrong end the sby andy_tratter - General Mendel Topics
Hi all, What is the point of the cut out at the front of the Mendel print bed? I am going to replace it with glass and just wondered if i actually need the notch cut into it? Thanks, Andrewby andy_tratter - General Mendel Topics
Hi, thanks for your reply. I actually go them working today, I simply had the axis directions set the wrong way, i.e. the axis would try and keep going past it''s limit but wouldnt come back again. All apears to be working fine now.by andy_tratter - General Mendel Topics
Hi all, I finished builing my Mendel with Gen 6 electrics this afternoon and had a go at a test print. The axis all run fine but when the opto switch passes through the flag nothing happens and the bed tries to keep going. I think they are working becuase i inverted the end stops (#define INVERT_ENABLE_PINS 0) nothing happens - ie the axis dont move. Do the opto-switches have to be fitted a coby andy_tratter - General Mendel Topics
Ah fantastic, it's all good now! Thanks a lot, Andrewby andy_tratter - Firmware - mainstream and related support
Hi all, I'm having trouble getting the Reprap software to open when I connect my Gen 6 board to Windows Vista. I purchased a new Gen 6 board from Camiel Gubbels a few weeks ago. The MS DOS screen shows that its in the correct com port (COM4) but when i choose the debug option it just sits at "Attempting to initialize Arduino/Sanguino [1.495s/1421ms]". I've re-upload the firmware incase the boardby andy_tratter - Firmware - mainstream and related support
