Hey, I have a question. I have a project planed which would require up to 12 stepper drivers. As a firmware I would like to use Klipper. In the Klipper config file one remaps the pins of the mcu. So one could make use of unused pins on a controller board which normally doesn't support 12 steppers. As far as I've understood, you only step_pin and en_pin to control a stepper driver. Here's my quby schpongo - Stepper Motors, Servo Motors, DC Motors
Hi, Q1: I have a project planed where I'd like to do control up 5 additional stepper motors/axes parallel to the 3 steppe XYZ axes and the 2 extruder drives. I'm thinking of something like G1 X10 Y10 Z10 A5 B15 C25 D35 ..... Where the additional axes are not linked to the XYZ axes. Q2: In line with my first question I would like to know if it is possible and how difficult it is to implementby schpongo - Firmware - Marlin
QuoteDust Feed rates set the axis speed, when moving multiple axis in one command the lowest feed rate is used (normally E axis) Are you certain? Because that would mean, that If I were to set my feed rate to 100 mm/min and would move all my axis at that speed, that resulting speed is actually (3)^0,5 * 100 mm/minby schpongo - General
I'm new to the world of 3d printing and gcode ,curruntly I am working on a controller for a 3d printer. I have some questions about the structure of gcode. I've created to following gcode using cura with the acceleration and jerk setting enabled. Please correct anything that I've misunderstood.
If I try and compare the data sheet of the linear slide system used in the kossel mini -Hiwin MGN 12H and the one I am looking at from Iigus -15mm variant of the miniature Drylin T I find that the static moments do vary a lot.by schpongo - Mechanics
Quotecdru I think for a very large majority of people it comes down to cost, availability, and does it do the job it's suppose to, in that order. It doesn't matter how perfect the system is if the cost is greater than the rest of the printer. And if you can't get it, easily, then it really doesn't matter how much it costs or how well it works. Some systems were devised out of necessity to lower cby schpongo - Mechanics
Hello, I would like to build a delta style 3d printer. I like the idea of using linear slide system. There are many manufactures of linear slide system. Most of the systems I’ve looked at are quite expansive. So I have looked at the cheaper end of the spectrum and found the German manufacturer Igus. They offer linear slide systems which use plastic glide pads compared to usual recirculating baby schpongo - Mechanics
I would like to know what the geometric constraints are. So what are the min and max angles between the components.by schpongo - General
As far as I have understood the basic geometric concept, the percentage of rail you need only depends on the horizontal frame extrusions.by schpongo - General
Quoteetfrench You should probably add a little more distance between the uprights, so the arms are not at 90 degrees. Do a search for Johann Rocholl's openscad drawing of the Kossel. It will help you determine the length of the arms and other parameters. I don't quite understand. If I were to increase the distance between the uprights I would also have to increase the rod length and in the endby schpongo - General
Ok so I just spent 2 hours in cad quickliy throwing together a makeshift effector, rods and joints. I think I now know what you mean. If I were to determin my rod length at a 60 degree angle from the effector to my liniear slide. The smallest angle between my effector and the slide would be 20 degrees. This would be the case if the center of the effector is closest to a single vertical beam. Edby schpongo - General
Hey guys, I'm planning a delta printer and would like to know how i can determin the appropriate length for the linear rails. In the Kossel design the rails are 400mm long and the vertical beams are 600mm long. I don't suppose I can directly translate that to any size. Thanks or the help Danielby schpongo - General
I want to build a 3d printer. To be precise a delta style printer based on the kossel and rostock design and i can get a used gen 6 board for the great price of nothing and was wondering if i can operate a delta printer with a gen6 board.by schpongo - Controllers
