I recently changed my controller card back to the to the Azteeg X3. I previously switched to the Arduino mega 2560, though a mosfet burnt out so back to the original board. my question is when I hook up the power supply (12v 30amp -- not the atx version - which I think was the root of a lot of problems power wise) should I combine the two positive 12v and the grounds? On the Arduino mega theby bishupz1 - Controllers
So my arduino 1.4 ramp burnt out the mosfet, and I have an azteeg x3 with the Y-axis stepper (aspect of the board) not working (it pulses). I do have a new power supply from the atx to a more suitable power supply for 3d printers. I do wonder if that might have need the problem, but at this point I am more than willing to change the pin configuration of the Marlin firmware. From my understanby bishupz1 - RAMPS Electronics
So I had to separate the shield to test the mosfet, upon looking at the bottom of the board my guess is that the Mosfet did burn out... I am going through tutorials on how to measure the mosfet with a multimeter, from what I saw in the attached image my best guess is that this Mosfet burnt out...by bishupz1 - General
I am not sure how this happened, but after some usage suddenly the settings for the temperature regulating the heat bed does not turn off the current. I have tried problem solving this for three days now and thought I would see if anyone had a similar problem. Turning the machine on and connecting Repetier Host, without turning on the heat bed the temperature starts to rise. as if I had turnedby bishupz1 - General

That is best advice I have heard... I made the mistake of updating Repetier Host to the latest version, bad mistake! now nothing works. I knew I should have stuck with the old version and not changed anything...by bishupz1 - Printing
So I update Repetier Host yesturday with the latest and greatest version... now nothing works. Somehow something is different. I have looked through the log, from what I can see and there are three commands that are unknown. It could be just a call back for one of them. I am not sure why updating the software would afflict the controller card so badley (arduino ramp 1.4), I reloaded the firmwby bishupz1 - Repetier
Thank you for the post... I know that it might not seem like a lot of informatin, but it was the starting point I needed. for some reason the 5mm cube from thingverse is not that accurate, the 10mm is a more stable model for testing. I reverted back to a post that I read about the layers and calibration, where the first layer was printed and the individual measures the first layer for accuracyby bishupz1 - Printing
The measurement were just to convey that the movement of steppers and axis were fine tuned. I will try the new setting and see what happens.by bishupz1 - Printing
I feel bad saying what the problem was... it was that the size of the print 5mm cube was so small and the reset time for the printer to home and bring the extruder up to temperature the filament (if the filament ozzes out should you turn down the temperature? it is a perfect 4mm strand). So there was no filament being forced out for the befninning of the print. I hit the extrude 5mm before everby bishupz1 - Repetier
I was wondering if anyone has had the same problem... there are a lot of posts but no clear answer as many things effect the height. I am trying to print the 5mm cube to test all of my calculations. I calibrated my machine: x,y, & z. they are perfectly 100mm when clicked or other increments are done. {93.17,87.58,2560.00,892.00} I have calibrated the first layer and preceeding layer. I'll check but I don't think it so. It would usually state that on the connection to the controller card. I have seen that with the other card I have. No, the printer is not working in "Dry Run" mode. I don't see it in the initial connection to the card, and is it not turned on in the "Manual Control" section of Repetier Host.by bishupz1 - Repetier
I am currious if anyone else has ran in to this problem... probably there is a ton of literature surronding the topic, but I can't find what I am doing wrong. I calibrated the extruder (Greg Wades Extruder) so the 100mm is perfect. In Repetier host I click extrude everything works fine. When I go to print, no filament comes out and the gear doesn't even move (or seem as if it is moving). I havby bishupz1 - Repetier
I have an Azteeg X3 There either is a problem with the board for the z-axis pins, or an aspect of the firmware. I do have 2 stepper on the Z axis, but for testing purposes I am using a single stepper motor. Any stepper I place on the Z axis from the board (single or dual - in parallel) at the most pulse. I can turn the pot up to 1.2 volts and still it just pulses... Note on the parallel Z-aby bishupz1 - General
Oddly enough I went through some basic trial and error to see if I could replicate the motor problem. I did rewire the Z Axis motors back to parallel and shortened the wire length. Using the original z pins on the board the motors still stuttered, I moved the wires/connector for the Z motors to the Y pins, and the worked perfectly (shocking...). I tried switching the stepper controller board tby bishupz1 - RAMPS Electronics
The printer is currently setup for dual extruders, I could disable one but the goal was to have dual extruders. I do have the expansion card, but mind you I am not the best at all the configurations that are able to be done on this board. I thought that the power supply rail that I was using was more power than that bard needed at 12v and 22amp, if I remember correctly the Azteeg X3 board is ratby bishupz1 - RAMPS Electronics
I was curious about the AUX power aspect to Azteeg X3. I am having problems with my Z Axis, there is not enough power to the stepper motors. I have switched my wiring to Series from Parallel from forums that I have read in finding a solution. The Steeper motors are the Nema 17 the are rewired, Rated Voltage: 3.6v, Current Per Phase 1.2A. Somewhat lower rating than other standard Nema 17 steppby bishupz1 - RAMPS Electronics
I was curious if anyone knew the best choice for installing Repetier Host software for windows 7 OS, 32 bit or 64 bit. Divers for the USB seem to be in 32 bit, I would have to recheck to verify. The OS is 64 bit.by bishupz1 - General
Initially I was going to use the 5052 Aluminum sheet for the build surface, but after learning that most pieces of aluminum are not milled and have variation upon the surface I went back to glass. At first Borosilicate glass, but for cost reasons tempered glass is fine for now. I did not know that 1000 series aluminum is a better conductor, most of the articles I have read lead to the generic sby bishupz1 - General
I am hoping that this is the place to figure this out... I have read every DIY article on making these NiChrome heatbeds and keep coming back here to read the tips and alternative ways to achive an accurate heat bed. I will try to keep it as simple as possible, I think I am a little bit over my head on some aspects accomplishing this on my own. The size of the bed is 24" x 36" (rather large)by bishupz1 - General
