Thanks digital dentist! I thought finding a solution for that would take me a lot longer. I was pretty ecstatic to learn how.
You were right that the issue was the cad software's resolution. For anyone using Autocad having this issue just increase "facetres" (command) to 10.
The circle looks completely smooth to me

I've been trying to print a cylinder without facets or at least decrease the size of the facets. I'm not sure if the program I used caused the facets or if facets are something necessarily inherent to stl files and the circle was actually smooth in autocad but was faceted in the stl file conversion. Is it possible to print a true cylinder from a stl or is there a minimum resolution that slic3er l

I think I've only done one print since I learned to calibrate bed height with the nozzle and bed heated. Before that my fist few layers were probably a milometer or so high, until the plastic would form a level base after 3 or 4 layers maybe. On that one print though, I had the bed very level and I added a -0.04 modifier in sli3er to compensate for the paper so the nozzle was probably pretty true

Thanks for the help. I'll try it on plain glass first.

I want it more firm with a little flex. No I haven't heard of those but I'll check them out!

Oh yeah I meant similar to abs. Thank you! I did a little reading on petg just now. I think I'm going to try that instead of hips. So far I've only printed pla and it's stuck well directly to the glass at like 60C. I've heard for abs something like PET tape helps bed adhesion. I'm considering buying a big roll of it from Amazon. Do you think it's necessary?

Hey guys. I've been printing pla for a little while, and attempted to use abs but when heating my bed I noticed it only got to 95C. I guess it may be possible to use abs with a 95C bed but from what I've heard about issues getting it to stick I decided to look for an alternative material. I'm mainly looking for a plastic that will flex a little, unlike pla. I saw that HIPS will print with a 90C t

I would like to adjust my prusa i3's (hesine) Marlin. Most of the current settings are good and accurate so I would like to keep them and have them as a reference. I mainly just want to adjust the extruder. The manufacturer of my printer didn't include a copy of firmware settings with the kit minus what's on the control board. Is there a way to view the settings on the control board?

Firmware - mainstream and related support
I'm not sure what setting would be wrong. I tried changing the bits per second and a few things like that on the serial port. I'm gonna order a new thermistor and see if that fixes it. I appreciate the help. My gf is an Aussie btw

I got the error "extruder 0:temp sensor defect" in pronterface. All of the axis move well, the fan works, the bed read the ambient temperature, but the extruder read at something like 393 C when off which is obviously not true. From what I've read the thermocouple may have and open circuit or be damaged I guess. Do you have any idea what may be causing the incorrect temperature to be read? I had

Printing
Yes I think it uses G code. I don't know much about how software works with these printers. I saw there is a folder for the printers drivers and another folder with Repetier. I figured drivers are necessary to use the printer but may not. I have't trying just using Repetier.

Printing
So I ordered a hesine prusa I3. After building it, I tried to install the drivers by manually installing "FTDI USB driver" (per the instructions) which wasn't on the flash memory they gave me. The closest file is "FTDIBUS." There is no automatic install wizard. So I emailed the printer seller and they told me that the printer doesn't work for windows 8 or windows 10. She told me to ship the Geeet

Now that I looked at it closely, I'm guessing it's a metal piece with tape as a cover. I've never not seen a not glass bed. I just want to be sure. The instructions for building the printer were very bad

Printing
I think I have a pretty easy question. I just built a printer and am wondering if the (I'll describe it as a paper tape like surface of the bed) is okay to print on. It didn't come with glass and am wondering if getting a piece of glass is important? I appreciate the help.

Printing
Hey guys, I'm new to 3d printing and am wondering if you have any recommendations. I'm getting into the hobby to help me make prototypes so being able to print a flexible material is important. I've also realized I can make some really nice personalized gifts for my girlfriend and friends. Money isn't a huge factor but from what I've seen the prusa i3's seem to be able to make a nice print in a d
