In the same room as my reprap, controlled by a sanguinololu 1.2 i believe I have a florescent ring light that seems to reset the board if i am printing and then turn the light off. Has anyone experienced such a thing? What can I do (besides not using the light) to stop the reset from happening?by shippo0708 - Sanguino(lolu)
Im surprised i havent found anything like this on thingiverse, but i figured i'd ask here before attempting to do it myself. An enclosure for sanguinololu that groups connectors together in a more convenient way than how the board is laid out. ie: X Y Z motor connectors in the same area Bed power and temp together Extruder motor, temp, and power together Input power and USB together Not suby shippo0708 - Sanguino(lolu)
Yes, i got mine to work by using Arduino 0023 and After i copied over the files from github i had to delete the Parallel port programmers from the avrdude.conf because i was getting errors that i have no port :/ Then i hooked up the Pocket programmer to my sanguinololu board, selected the 1284p 16mhz version in arduino and hit burn bootloader using USBTinyISP. It took about 12-15 minutes aby shippo0708 - New Zealand RepRap User Group
No i actually meant this They said its based off the USBTinyISP so I'm not sure if its incapable of writing to a 1284p like people have said is outside its memory range, but i tried it and i was able to burn a new boot loader to it (it verified failed but at least i could upload Marlin to it now)by shippo0708 - New Zealand RepRap User Group
What did you have to do on your Mac to get it working? I'm struggling with that programmer not responding too... I'm using a sang 1.3 board with a 1284p I have a AVR Pocket Programmer I bought from spark fun if I need to reflag a boot loaderby shippo0708 - New Zealand RepRap User Group
well at the moment my heated bed bows in the direction of the traces. so just mount the bed on the big thick sheet above the bolts that hold the belt clamps and bearing holders, but possibly a little higher so i can use clamps to hold the glass in?by shippo0708 - General Mendel Topics
I'm currently building a prusa mendel using the metric-prusa-lm8uu parts found I have the entire thing built except for the bed which i plan to cut from 1/4inch MDF (so ~6.35mm) The problem I'm having is everywhere i look for info about the mendel with lm8uu's talks about it being an iteration 2 and only needing the single thick sheet for the bed (which i guess your bearing mounts and belt cliby shippo0708 - General Mendel Topics
I'm using a Sanguinololu with pronterface and i was wondering how i can manually home the axis? i don't use endstops and when i try to print something i guess the Z thinks its too low so it raises up far above the bed before it starts printing... which results in a blob leaking from the air.... The frame I'm working with is a ZenToolworks 7x7 3D Printer modelby shippo0708 - RepRap Host
i guess i actually need to get a host software i can actually use... i wish i could use replicatorG since i know how to use it but the recommended was pronterface and i can't find how to make ReplicatorG see the board right so i guess ill have to tinker with thatby shippo0708 - Sanguino(lolu)
i was told the drivers are stepsticks... the listing is on this Sanguinololu the motor pins are : 1B 1A 2A 2B -_-by shippo0708 - Sanguino(lolu)
right now i have my steppers wired and working on a CNC controller board, I want to switch it for a Sanguinololu so i can reprap the pinouts for the driver board i have currently is A A- B B- and i just got a Sanguinololu v1.2 and i want to make sure i have the motors right the first time as the crimp connectors are usually a one shot thingby shippo0708 - Sanguino(lolu)
Well I did change the motor pins to D2 - x step D3 - x dir D4 - y step D5 - y dir D6 - z step D7 - z dir D8 - e step D9 - e dir Think that will have any side effects? I mean it works but getting the stepping right is a lil hardby shippo0708 - Firmware - mainstream and related support
alright thanks.. i have 90 percent of my rig together now... Just have to get the extruder wired in and tweak the steps and it should be runningby shippo0708 - Firmware - mainstream and related support
well I'm just using a duelminove w/ ATMega 328 for the moment since thats what i had and don't want to spring the money to get an actual Sanguinololu -_- So in this case the PB3 is the actual pin name from the chip itself? so in my case PB3 would be arduino-mapped pin 11?by shippo0708 - Firmware - mainstream and related support
Hi guys... I'm trying to configure teacup firmware for my setup.. besides the nightmare of getting the steps per mm right, (which i haven't yet) Im trying to figure out about the whole heater setup.. I'm using a wades geared extruder and using a MOSFET to switch 12 power to the nichrome wire heater on the extruder but i can't understand in the config.h which pin i assign... heres an excerpt froby shippo0708 - Firmware - mainstream and related support
Well heres what i have to work with... i went out and bought a Zen Toolworks 7x7 3D printer model CNC machine and its accompanying driver/control board I figured i would try and to integrate it like an expanded Sanguinololu, where i would have the connections to the steppers go into the respective pins of the Zen driver/controller.. I have a Wade's Extruder and a spark fun easy driver that iby shippo0708 - CNC Routers, Mills, and Hybrid RepRapping
how easy (if at all possible to say its easy) is it to go from printing to milling with either of those firmwares?by shippo0708 - General
I did manage to get Sketchup to output STL files that load some form of 3d object into ReplicatorG and another plugin that outputs gcode for actual cutting (but this is outside the scope right now)... Yea im afraid i can't really do anything right now except look for info since I'm waiting on the rest of the electronics for my machine -_- my machine is a zenToolworks 7x7 printer model w/ theirby shippo0708 - General
I'm having a bit of trouble find out where to start making things on the Mac..like what software is good for making models and things to load up with the host software -_-by shippo0708 - General
the sad part is i kinda like the way the wades extruder looks lol the material on my current body is PVC i think so i should be able to rough it up a bit after i find a screw good enough for the damned motor pulley Nevermind it is ABS... I'm not sure how much damage i can do to it thenby shippo0708 - Plastic Extruder Working Group
well thats a bit annoying -_- and so is the hardware that came in the kit... i can't get the motor lined up cuz of the over-long screws -_- i guess ill put the extruder on hold until i can find the right hardwareby shippo0708 - Plastic Extruder Working Group
It's this kit from mixshopby shippo0708 - Plastic Extruder Working Group
Ok I've been reading thru the PDF on assembling Wades Extruder, but theres useful information missing that i need to know.. I have a kit of all the hardware, nozzle, barrel, wire, and hapton tape... (oddly the grub screw for the motor pulley isn't part of it ;() Anyways I'm stuck at the head of the extruder and the nichrome wire and the thermistor I assume i need to screw the barrel into the Pby shippo0708 - Plastic Extruder Working Group
Well I've leaned toward using the designs from mydiycnc in order to build a decent sturdy frame with some increased lengths on the z axis to make room for heated platforms and such.... I was gonna try 1/4in 20 threaded rod for my first drivetrain and see how that works out that can be substituted later for a belt type train if I need more agilityby shippo0708 - CNC Routers, Mills, and Hybrid RepRapping
so then can i assume if i use the firmware everyone else on here uses, i can mill and print from the same machine? just by swapping out tools?by shippo0708 - Firmware - mainstream and related support
is there potentially a way to mod this for the 328 chip so that you use a port expander chip like the Mcp23s17 so that you don't have to sacrifice endstops and other things for lack of pins? and add a switch on whether or not to worry about the extruder? in the event the controller is on a rig that can mill and printby shippo0708 - RepRap Host
All I'm really looking for is a basic extruder at a fair price. Everywhere i look seems to be outrageous prices since they know u only need to buy from them once, unless its the filament Thanksby shippo0708 - Wanted
What i mean by help is a couple questions I'm a little stuck on, I downloaded a version of FiveD that will work on an atmega328 (since this is what i use am familiar with) but I can eventually get a Sanguinololu if need be. I know that the Firmware is: Responsible for interpreting G-Code Controlling the stepper motors Manipulating the extruder with the correct G-Code Communicating with the Pby shippo0708 - Firmware - mainstream and related support
Also to add, i currently have 4 Sanyo stepper motors (NEMA 17 Style, 6 wire) and 4 Sparkfun Easy Driver boards that i intend to use on this projectby shippo0708 - CNC Routers, Mills, and Hybrid RepRapping
Ok so I am in the process of gathering electronics and money to attempt this... I've found plans and stuff all over the place to build a CNC mill but i also intend on expanding it a bit so i can also optionally attach an extruder to it and use it as both a mill and a reprap with minor alterations between the each "mode" My main setback right now is finding available software and also debating oby shippo0708 - CNC Routers, Mills, and Hybrid RepRapping
