We are building the mendel using generation 3 electronics. We're running on Windows xp and using replicatorg. When we open replicatorg and set the driver to cupcake CNC, we get the following message: Loading machine: Cupcake CNC loading simulator Loading driver: replicatorg.drivers.gen3.Sanguino3GDriver WARNING: RXTX Version mismatch Jar version = RXTX-2.2pre1 native lib Version = RXTX-2.2pby rusdp - General
I am using Windows XP, SP3. I unziped that file but I can't find a .jar file. What would the old file be called that I need to search for in my computer? Thanks. - rusdpby rusdp - Controllers
Any Ideas? I really need to get this machine working soon. Thanks. - rusdpby rusdp - Controllers
Hey Guys. I have gotten Mendel mechanical construction done. Now I am working on the electronics. After connecting my motherboard (Generation 3 electronics), and then loading ReplicatorG, I got the following output: **** Loading machine: Cupcake CNC loading simulator Loading driver: replicatorg.drivers.gen3.Sanguino3GDriver WARNING: RXTX Version mismatch Jar version = RXTX-2.2pre1 native liby rusdp - Controllers
Hey. I am looking at the wiring for the extruder head. It seems as though the 4-way pin header is an optional thing, as I read from the Mendel extruder head document page. So I don't have to order more parts, and to save time, is there a quick work around for wiring the extruder head without using the 4-way pin headers? Thanks for the help. My machine is coming along very well. - rusdpby rusdp - General Mendel Topics
What would be useful to know at least is the gauge size of the ribbon cable. Thanks. -rusdpby rusdp - General Mendel Topics
Any ideas then about this?by rusdp - General Mendel Topics
Hey guys. This should be the last of thing I need to get. I am currently looking for the "200mm 4-way ribbon cable" for the Mendel Extruder head. Any places you know where I can get it in the US? Also, will Kapton tape work for the heatshrink needed? Thanks for all your help. - rusdpby rusdp - General Mendel Topics
Alright, so I checked out Reprap's Part Lister and found the bootlace ferrule listed there. I am located in the US, so the supplier provided won't work for me. The webpage for the ferrule recommended by the Part's lister is: The specs are 1mm^2 wire, 2.2mm depth. I checked out digikey, and found: The specs are 1mm^2 wire (18awg) and 6mm depth. So I am thinking the ferrule I found on digikby rusdp - General Mendel Topics
Alright. So which bootlace did you use? (Can you give me a link?) I need to purchase one quickly as our machine needs to be done within a few weeks. Thanks. - rusdpby rusdp - General Mendel Topics
So, would the 100K thermistor from Makerbot Store work? Thanks. -rusdpby rusdp - General Mendel Topics
But isn't the size limited by the size of the nichrome wire?by rusdp - General Mendel Topics
Hey, what size bootlace ferrules are needed for the Mendel Extruder head construction? Thanks. - rusdpby rusdp - General Mendel Topics
Hey guys. I am trying to figure out what temperature sensor I should get for the Mendel Extruder head. It seems as though the Mendel Extruder head (from the extruder docoument page for the Mendel instructions) uses the Thermistor, but the Darwin/Thermoplast Extruder document uses a Thermocouple. 1. I understand that thermocouples are cheaper, and their max temperature range is approximatley 300by rusdp - General Mendel Topics
Well I would just go to the machine shop at my school and cut these boards out, but I can't get the dimensions of the drawings. Hence, I was thinking that I would just print the actual size of the parts (from the drawings that are in dxf formats), sketch them out on my boars, and then go to the machine shop and cut them out. thanks for the responses so far. - rusdpby rusdp - General Mendel Topics
Hello. My friends and I are building the Mendel, and we are a bit confused on how to go about in cutting the thick sheets. I read online that one person printed the drawings of the sheets and then traced them on to their board, and then cut them. We don't have a laser cutter at our disposal to laser cut the boards, so this seems as our only viable option. To view the drawings, we use DWGeditor. Oby rusdp - General Mendel Topics
I checked out the "Printed-Parts" folder and see there are 84 .par files in there. 1. So I'm guessing these are the .par files we can print in a rapid prototype machine? 2. Where can all the other, non-printable parts be found? 3. We are looking to find each part's actual volume, as in the volume reported by the CAD software. So I guess we can open each part and find the volumes that way? 4.by rusdp - General
Hey guys, My senior design group and I are working on building the Darwin. We are trying to figure out how much material is needed to build the parts of Darwin that can be made in a RepRap machine (we are going to manufacture our own parts). To do this, I figured I could download the parts list for Darwin 1-0-6 and find which parts are the plastic parts. I found no documentation on this. After Iby rusdp - General
