For sale is my home built RepRap Prusa Mendel Iteration 2 3D Printer. I am selling because we are moving to San Francisco and there is no room. I am located in Burlington, Ontario CANADA so local pickup in the GTA should be possible. Please see my Kijij ad for pictures I built this unit myself from motors from work and parts ordered on the internet. I can give you a full breakdown of all theby derekmjenkins - For Sale
Sorry if this has been asked before but I think I made a big mistake when putting together my Wades Extruder with a J Head MKV-B Hot-End. I assumed I could use 1.75mm filament but it keeps clogging. Now I am wondering if my liner is not supposed to take 1.75 mm filament. The 1.75mm filament is not snug in the liner and now I am thinking that's because the liner is only for 3mm filament. Why wouldn't you just use Pololu Stepper Driver Boards? These use A4988 stepper chips.by derekmjenkins - Stepper Motors, Servo Motors, DC Motors
I have a moons 17HD3802-02 stepper motor I am planning to use for my extruder. It is an eight-wire unit. See the following for specs. I am going to wire it as bipolar series, so I wired brown to white and orange to yellow. How do I match the 1A-1B-2A-2B of my RAMPS 1.4 board to the remaining BLUE RED GREEN and BLACK wires? I wired my applied motion steppers as Bipolar series. DJby derekmjenkins - Stepper Motors, Servo Motors, DC Motors
What are your end stop settings in your firmware?by derekmjenkins - RAMPS Electronics
What firmware are you running? Marlin or Sprinter? what version? Does your baud rate in Repetier match what is set in you Configuration.h file? Try 250000 as that was the default set for My Marlin RC3. Does it home correctly to your end-stops?by derekmjenkins - RAMPS Electronics
Hi everyone, waking this topic back up. I can get these Applied Motion Steppers motors working but my x-axis vibrates a lot when it moves. I tried adjusting the Pot on the POLOLU's but it doesn't really get rid of it. I switched my x and y axis to see if its the driver, and the x-axis still vibrates. I am questioning whether these 8-wire steppers should have been wired as bipolar-series wiby derekmjenkins - RAMPS Electronics
I am building a Prusa iteration 2 and am having lots of issues due to the lack of correct documentation. Anyway I won't go on a rant, but man! I have the current x-axis motor, idler, and carriage from GitHub that uses press fit for the 420mm smooth rods (i.e. no nut traps). When I press the smooth rods in as far as they can go in both the motor and idler pieces I end up with a center-center diby derekmjenkins - General Mendel Topics

Thanks everyone. My motors are working with test firmware and RAMPS 1.4by derekmjenkins - RAMPS Electronics
I did that and am running RAMPS 1.4 test firmware but it's just vibrating and getting hot. How do I map the A+, A-, B+, B- to 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B on the RAMPS? Thanks Derekby derekmjenkins - RAMPS Electronics
I managed to salvage some Applied Motion HT17-075 Stepper Motors at work to use in my RepRap Prusa build I am engaged in. However I am not clear how these wire to my new RAMPS 1.4. See Applied Motion HT17-075 for more info. It is an eight wire stepper which can be wired as Bipolar Parallel, Bipolar Series, or Unipolar. Unipolar requires a common that does not appear to be available on the boaby derekmjenkins - RAMPS Electronics
