QuoteDark Alchemist Quotethe_digital_dentist The size doesn't matter as along as it is big enough. You just drill into the metal until the diameter is large enough for your screw head. You can do it with a hand drill.Alright, good to know as my screws are all countersunk 3mm so I need a 90 degree countersink which leaves me having to find a metric. QuoteMasterjuggler Like I said before, I'm going to be using the 0.6, not the 0.8.5. Is this still the same rating? I can't seem to find it anywhere online, unless I just missed it. Thanks for the tip about solid core wire. It's easy enough to just tin the stranded core wire with a bit of solder. Solder on the stranded wires for use in screw terminals isn't a good idea. Should we be able to see the Firmware version changed to 1.11 on the DWC Settings page? I'm still seeing it at Firmware Version: 1.10 (2016-03-24)by llamatrails - Duet
Dario, Can you please describe the RPI setup to open up the port for the DWC to connect ? PRZ, The RPI is a low cost camera and a lot of folks have one already. The way Dario is configuring it in the DWC needs to be documented on your wiki page for others that may have a camera that streams images on a port. TIA, Rickby llamatrails - Duet
Quotechrishamm QuotePRZ Christian, you indicated in a post that the DWC configuration is stored in local storage. It means you have to make a configuration for each browser/device you are using for printer control. The problem is that this shall be redone at each DWC issue. Quotefattmann I use a combination of the paper test, and using the same principal (as suggested by paul_delta) I will often use a 2.5mm allen key to set the Z Home position. For the bed itself I went out and got three small levels (about 3" long, think they were "line levels") and leveled the bed to the world using springs under the mounting screws. Quotefattmann QuoteLegrand I believe that the tip that folger supplied with the 3mm hot end is 0.3mm. I've wondered this too, what is the size of the Folger tip? QuoteCaptain_Tim So while I wait for Folger to get back to me as to whether or not they'll replace the motor, I have a few questions to ask you guys. 1. When I manually position the effector to be what looks like in the center of the build platform, it appears that two of the 3 carriages are at equal heights, but the thrid one needs to be higher up then the other two to center the effector. QuoteCaptain_Tim Bad News The new X-axis now won't turn. The machine is powered off so it should be able to move freely correct? Looks like Folger will be getting an email asking for a new motor. I hope that will be some of the last of my problems. Do you have the motor wires unplugged when trying to turn the motor by hand? On steppers, if you short one of the windings, it will not turn. Quotesimspeed That's an interesting approach Rick... How much mileage do you have on your setup? How smooth is the movement? And..how long do you project the nylon will last? It all got together this week, and I have a few prints on it so far with no issues. The nylon blocks don't get any wear, like the ones on my CNC, so that won't be an issue. I just finished getting rid of my linear sliders. They came with my Folger Kossel kit, and were a real PITA to clean up and get somewhat smooth. Even then, they took constant lubing while printing. Looking at the options, I felt that wheels on bearings would have their own issues.
