I wouldn't necessarily agree that it is not worth buying this kit. For me it is serving its purpose: 1. It was cheap but I didn't expect a BMW at this price. 2. All mechanical and electrical components present without having to figure out what was needed and purchase from multiple suppliers. Plastic pieces a bummer but I have a printer so not a show stopper. 3. I'm unsure of how much better anothby Miamicraft - Delta Machines
While you are printing things you might want to print 3 new carriages. The one provided with the kit is for a continuous belt, not the cut belt provided with the kit. I am going with this one. Rogerby Miamicraft - Delta Machines
I ran into a problem with T-Nuts not being able to lock down because the corner STL had a pad under the screw that prevented the drop in T-Nut from tightening down all the way. Not sure if this a problem on Folger but I ran into it on another Kossel kit with T-Nuts. Rogerby Miamicraft - Delta Machines
Start rant Loaded 20/20 STL corner files from GITHUB and then proceeded to waste a lot of time trying to modify them. Freecad could not deal with them (folded surfaces, degenerate edges..), Autodesk Fusion 360 no go, Meshlab and Meshmixer the same. Emailed a copy to a friend with Solidworks. No joy. The change I wanted to make is trivial, I need to remove the rest of the boss behind the T-Nut. I'by Miamicraft - Delta Machines
I cannot recommend this kit for a non-reprapper. The corners don't fit and I am going to have to print a new set. This is not a show stopper if you have another printer and don't mind spending 8-10 hours printing new parts. I have spent some time examining a couple of problems with the existing corner design and before I print I will make a couple of modifications including for the drop in t-nutsby Miamicraft - Delta Machines
I have a fair amount of experience with RepRaps. I have a Frankenstein Solidoodle 3, a Prusa I3 rework and an original Prusa (long deceased). My Solidoodle is printing large parts with an E3D V6 with a .60mm nozzle. I needed a fast printer with a finer nozzle for more detailed parts. I Just received a " 3D Printer Kossel Mini full kit w/ auto level for RepRap Rostock Delta" bought off Ebay for $3by Miamicraft - Delta Machines
Set all values under speed and advanced to 0 and left Max Print Speed at 80. Complicated model printed perfectly. Amazing. Great work. Rogerby Miamicraft - Slic3r
Just started playing with 1.2.8 autospeed. Have a 0.4 E3D v6 direct drive extruder on a Frankenstein Solidoodle. Layer height set at .1552 with infill every 2 layers. Set all speeds to 0 to test autospeed. Print time estimated at 15+hours.. Print time per my original settings was about 6.5 hours. I suspect computed pressure is less than half of what I'm normally running my extruder at. Either Iby Miamicraft - Slic3r
Thanks 3Dmaker4U, turning off don't support bridges under support material tab fixed problem. I've had this problem before and its good to know there is a simple solution once you know the answer. Wish this was documented on the WIKI under support material. Rogerby Miamicraft - Slic3r

I am having a problem with generating support material for horizontal surfaces in Slic3r version 1.2.6. I created a test model to demonstrate the problem. It is a box with a central horizontal plane (red) and two fillets. When I slice with overhang thresholds of form 1 to about 20 I get support generated for the fillets but not the horizontal plane. I have attached the STL and slicer previeby Miamicraft - Slic3r
Thanks Frank. That will get me the current version. I would like to be able to find the source for older versions so I could compare them (diff) to try to understand why support material is broken in 1.2.6 and worked well in earlier versions. Rogerby Miamicraft - Slic3r
I'm not an expert on github but have a lot of coding experience and would like to take a look at the code. How do you download the source for prior versions of Slic3r? Are they archived? Rogerby Miamicraft - Slic3r

E3D has released a new high volume (Volcano) extruder that is capable of 1 mm layer heights. Great for rapid building but bad for surface quality/detail. Will slic3d (or any slicer) allow me to set up a dual extruder with a Volcano and standard 0.4 mm tip? The advantage of this setup would be rapid builds where surface didn't matter and high quality were needed. Would be nice but I'm not sure hoby Miamicraft - Slic3r
Problem with Z DRO display on manual screen when not homing axis and doing a G92 to manually set position. My Z home switch is broken so I can't home Z. Repitier Z DRO shows 0 in red at startup. In order to get around Marlin soft limits I do a "G92 Z100" to allow me room to manually set axis position. After G92 DRO displays Z as -100 in red. I do a G114 to read Marlin DRO's and Z shows 100 correby Miamicraft - Repetier
Slic3r beta v1.2 allowed me to get near perfect (.05mm) outside dimensions and good print quality by adjusting the X/Y compensation and external perimeter width. Unfortunately, the hole clearance, while better, still needs some work. I am printing mechanical components and would strongly recommend. Rogerby Miamicraft - Slic3r
Ah... grouping and multi extruder that makes sense. As for sequential printing I had 4 groups defined and when I started to print only one printed, immediately stopped print. Only guessed how next group would print. The grouping has cost a lot of functionality. In old days I could drop two or more items and they would auto arrange. Without this ability I will have to build my plates elsewhere (by Miamicraft - Repetier
Repetier also seems to want to print one object group at a time.... I'm sure I'm just missing something but for now am reverting to older version. Rogerby Miamicraft - Repetier
In olden days with Repetier you dropped say 4 objects and they were grouped. You moved them around the plate using the truck/cross as a group. If you needed to move one object you could right click it to select and move just that object. Now they are dropped as separate object groups and by default are moved separately. You can move as a group if you right click all of the parts which then lets yby Miamicraft - Repetier
I have seen three shapes used for extruder tips: pointed (QU-BD), Flat (Solidoodle), Round (home made from crown nut). Is there any consensus as to which is best? If the end is flattened how wide should it be? I'm getting some surface roughness (like 180 grit sandpaper) using ABS @210 with a .35 hole on flat top surfaces and was wondering if my tip shape had anything to do with it. I have been fighting a problem with perimeter quality. There is a distinct pattern on the outside of objects. Evaluated mechanical, feed and power (by disabling print bed heat during print). No joy. Printed test cube again as a vase and surface quality was fine. No pattern. Test cube is aligned with X/Y axis and is made up of only 12 triangles. On a perimeter print the X should be constant for aby Miamicraft - Slic3r
Captain, Thanks. By the time I had seen your post I had reverted to 0.9.10b. I tried with 100% and 75%. 75% seemed better. There is no way this makes any sense. Seems like a bug and not a feature. Will go back to 1.0.0RC3 in the morning and see what happens. Its late and my head hurts. Thanks again, Rogerby Miamicraft - Slic3r

I did the standard steps per mm calibration for my extruder but was having problems when printing after changing nozzle. Printed interior hole sizes were not correct and surface was not up to snuff.
