Mine was hard to extrude from the beginning. ECSuyu: I haven't received the new nozzle yet, I bet it arrives today. Royby roygpa - General
I was going to use one of my 0.5mm drill bits to clean out the nozzle. I bought 10 of them off of eBay a few months ago, they came in this minuscule little tube. The tube was so small, no I cannot find it I should be getting the replacement nozzle from Brian today or tomorrow. I will report back my results. Royby roygpa - General
Standard and hinged, both.by roygpa - General
It kinks just below the hobbed bolt, just enough to stop the filament. Royby roygpa - General
Yes, I replaced the liner. Brian saw this thread and he is going to send me another nozzle to see if that is the problem. Thanks everybody for your suggestions. Royby roygpa - General
I tried it with a homemade mounting plate, made from a fender washer... with a hinged extruder and then with a non hinged I printed an extruder that had a clamp to hold the PEEK onto the extruder... NO mounting plate. My thought was that the fender washer might have sucked too much heat away from the nozzle, so I thought I'd try without any extra added metal. Both had a difficult time feed theby roygpa - General
I have to admit that I did not try a fan on the flutes of the JHead. with temps at 230-240 C, it was hard to push the filament through by hand and turning the big gear by hand although it would push the filament through. Purging using the motor it would eventually kink and jam. Royby roygpa - General
I ordered a 0.5 mm nozzle to use with 1.75 mm filament, my filament measures out at 0.60 mm through the J-Head. I have tried 5 different hobbed bolts in two different extruders, both loose and tight on the idlers. I have pushed the filament by hand and it is more difficult to push through than my 0.50 mm Budaschnozzle. When it does work for a few minutes, it eventually puts a kink in the filamenby roygpa - General

I use a Sanguinololu and it has 1 PWM pin, would this command work with it?by roygpa - Controllers
Do you have your end stops connected? They need to be connected for the Sanguninololu to work.by roygpa - Sanguino(lolu)

How much knowledge do I need? I built a Prusa from parts I bought on EBay, and bought a Sanguinololu as well and it all works. Plus my name is also Roy, that has to be worth a point or two, no? I'd volunteer if you don't get a couple of experts. That board looks nice. Royby roygpa - Controllers
I could go for a couple. I know I said on IRC that I wanted the FTDI already on it but what the hell, I can learn to solder it too. Royby roygpa - For Sale
never mind, mind is a version 1.2 upgraded to 1.3 and it is supposed to have bridges, not resistors.by roygpa - Sanguino(lolu)
Another question, what resistors do you have in the r7 and r8 positions? The wiki sanguino calls for 100 k. "R7 and R8 are now 100k pull-up resistors that are on the stepper-enable lines. This ensures the stepper motors stay disabled and don't move while uploading new firmware, rebooting, etc." Mine just has bridges in those positions, no resistors. I bought it from a guy in Poland. I have a Sanguinololu 1.3 and had frequent disconnects when I had a fluorescent light (has a magnifier on it) closeby and whether the light was on or off the SL 1.3 didn't like it. I unplugged the light and now don't touch it.There were time when the light was on and I just moved toward the sl1.3 and it would disconnect. I put 3 ferrite cores maybe 4 on the USB cord, which didn't seem to do anythby roygpa - Sanguino(lolu)
When I make a change to sprinter, after the upload stage the extruder motor turns a revolution or two. Is there a way to shut that off? If the extruder is cool and a filament loaded it cannot turn... at least not very far. Is there a way I can tell sprinter to move one of the axis motors back and forth to tell me that the new sketch was uploaded properly? Or is this a malfunction? Is the a way to "Mark all Forums Read" by pushing one button instead of going into each forum. I like to make them read so the next time I visit I can tell if thee is anything new. If not can we get this feature, or would it be a pain? Thank you in advance. Royby roygpa - Administration, Announcements, Policy
Are the 12 volt plugs near the motor always powered or only when that particular motor is moving? Royby roygpa - Sanguino(lolu)

Thanks, I picked up a couple different types at Radio Shack this evening. We'll see if I keep getting USB disconnects. Royby roygpa - RAMPS Electronics
I don't have Ramps electronics (Sanguinololu) but I do get periodic disconnects of the USB connection. One thing I found that was causing it was a fluorescent magnifier that I have near the printer. Any time I moved the magnifier, the USB would disconnect from the printer and stop printing. I stopped using the magnifier but still get disconnects, so I supposed it is some other EMI in the house caby roygpa - RAMPS Electronics
